I'm a diagnosed autist.
"Aspie" is normal and even affectionate. Friends and family members of people who were diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome use this term a lot. But if you aren't close with anyone who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, there's no reason for you to use it. It still isn't an insult though.
It's also important to note that Asperger's is no longer a diagnosis in the USA since its removal from the DSM.
"Autist" is another word that 4chan uses. It would probably be considered rude for a person who was not autistic to say it, but I use it freely and am not offended if others do too.
