By far the scummiest thing the Americans have done is basically steal "the bomb" and keep it for themselves, essentially telling us to fuck off after the Manhattan Project.
Britain at the time was pushing on with Operation Tube Alloys and we ran out of money. An agreement was made where we would supply our manpower, research and nuclear material (which I believe at the time was only sourced in Canada or Australia) in exchange for the American funding.
After the Manhattan Project was completed they literally stabbed us in the back and said that no other nation should have access to nuclear weapons so they didn't give us any of the blueprints or information to make our own even though it was us who started it, worked on it and supplied them the materials they needed.
It was only when Russia tested theirs and we began building our own that the Americans thought "shit, these guys can actually make it themselves and we'll be much better off with them on our side" so they finally started to share the information that was promised to us in the first place.
tl;dr we should have had nuclear weapons at the same time at the US but they took a shit on our agreement like they always do
