How do you try and deal with it? I get 'help' at an NHS counselling facility. I'm currently going through treatment for clinical depression, severe anxiety, schizophrenia, and possibly autism.

The same thing would have happened to me, but my counselor insisted on not giving up on me, for some reason. He called me up and asked me why I'd stopped coming to sessions and we had a talk for a few hours (most of which I was crying) where I told him about everything I had kept hidden for my entire life.

I was made redundant in April. Basically a huge part of my city was at the start of the year as oil is finished and this city is oil. So I've been unemployed since then because every job will have people with years of xp & college/uni qualifications applying for it. In November my mum emailed me saying my dad's boss has a temp contract for me if I want it. I took it.
Now, last week me n my dad were finishing at the same time (we do different jobs in same department) so I was getting a lift home. On the Tuesday, we chatted for a bit then he just asked me how much it'll be for me to get back into college. Just out of nowhere. I didn't know what to say so I just asked what's brought this on. He said I'll never get a good job in this city without a qualification now due to the oil crash. He says I'm too smart to be working in that department and he doesn't want me there longterm. My parents recently split and a reason my mother said to me was that my dad was too stuck in his ways. He had no ambition, just comfortable with what he had while she has went strength to strength (now earning prob 3-4x my dad).
Then today he was asking me about christmas gifts. He's visiting his side of the family in England this week. I don't fuss about Christmas so my parents find it hard to buy for me and I couldn't offer any pointers, really. I asked what he'd like to deflect from me and he just said "Nothing. I have you, your brother n sisters"

fast forward to a few weeks ago when I messaged her on facebook at 5am because I was out my dial and looking for someone to talk shit to
we've just casually chatted ever since but for the past week we've been chatting constantly, just friendly stuff, and I've been looking through old photos on facebook
countless pictures from summer days that felt like they lasted forever, beach parties with people I thought I'd be friends with forever and memories of actually getting to spend it with someone you're madly in love with
words cannot describe the amount of happiness I was feeling at that time, amplified by the self-awareness of the bliss I was experiencing
and now i'm ghosting through life feeling more disconnected from society than I've ever been and i'm probably gonna never feel like that again
