I deleted mine 6 years ago, I think life would have been a lot worse with one because then I would have documented failure for everyone to come laugh at, but now I'm basically care free that shit seems so hard to keep up with

I've never had a facebook which made me sound cool 5 years ago but makes me sound like a serial killer now adays
I made an account back in 2006 or 7 I think, really early on.
I deleted it about 3 years later for a variety of reasons. I barely used it anymore because I didn't care about the vast majority of people on my friends list, but the main reason was my account was compromised and someone posted a bunch of dumb shit under my name.
I decided enough was enough so I deleted my account and haven't regretted it once.
I use a fake name/profile and I'm deep into the alternative comedy shit
it's pretty bad and I hate almost all of it
tiny buzz, BH Ideas and a few other pages are worth liking just for comedic value, it's not all bad

There's an actual delete process but they don't link to it in any prominent fashion. You can find it via Google. They still retain your data though, because when I remade my account under the same name the "People You May Know" tab was 100% my old friends list.

I'm just so glad that I deleted it before all of my aunts and uncles and even my own parents joined it.
Honestly just seeing people constantly post about how great their lives are and everything was a huge fucking drag and didn't help me improve my own life at all. It was just a huge distraction.

I'm so fucking old that actually myspace was like my 3rd or 4th pseudo-dating social media website. Myspace was the definitely the first bi one that everyone joined, but before that there was dozens of websites that you could make a profile on and meet local people.
The one thing I hate abut facebook the most now is how it's used as a login for almost everything and anything and how mobile games will give you free in-game currency if you connect your profile to them.
I'm thinking of just making a joke account for that purpose.

the only people I have on it are people from high school that I don't give a shit about. But I find it almost impossible to not compulsively go on it daily on just scroll through even though I literally don't talk to anyone. I'm in a group chat with some guys that was started in high school and it's pretty painful looking at them talk about all the things they're doing with their lives. I used to be pretty good friends with them but the void between our different lifestyles has grown pretty wide over the last couple of years and now I'm barely friends with them.
