Xposting because maybe some users here can offer their opinion.
Remember those rooms full of pictures, newspaper clippings, etc. that were often associated with stalkers, serial killers, and other crazy people? It can be safely assumes that they have a basis IRL, but most of us are familiar with the concept through movies and TV.
My question is...how many people engage in this behavior nowadays and don't think twice about it? Having folders full of pictures of people who have no idea who you are? People who would probably be pretty disturbed if they caught wind of the fact that you use their pictures to entertain yourself or get some sort of gratification from possessing their image? This behavior is mainly limited to males (since they're visually oriented), but teenage girls have been known to do it, too. Some of them tape posters of celebrities to their walls, and tumblr exercises this urge in a way.
Do you do this? What do you think it indicates about you and your culture? Would you feel a sense of loss if your collections were deleted?

What am I suppose to do? If I met her on the street, never having known her before, I would fight every fear in my body to ask her out.
It just so happens now, that I first saw her on the internet by accident. With her living a world away, and not even knowing that I'm a person. If I contacted her though the internet, I would just be another one of those creeps.
And so here I am, a folder 200+, if I had seen her on the street, and not had the chance to talk to her, I would have never forgotten her. Only now I have the luxury of having access to 200 expressions and angles, all of which will never complete the image that I do want. The image where I by chance bumped into her on the street, and asked for her number.

My ex girlfriend sent me over 1200 pictures of herself, either through snapchat (which I got for her), whatsapp, or through Facebook messenger. We weren't even together for 6 months. Every night before I go to sleep, and usually any moment of free time I get, I put on some music and scroll through them before I'm tired enough to sleep.
Stopping, staring, etc.
She would want me to keep them I think. We both have OCD. She freaked out when her hard drive crashed and she lost all of mine.

Why would I be ashamed? Not in the slightest. I just understand what I myself have my folder for. I have the luxury of never forgetting her, while enduring the suffering of knowing that there is no going back, even given the chance to meet her.
Like I don't even really care if I would be turned down. Like that would hurt, sure. What hurts me more is knowing that she is out there, and that the chances aren't zero yet. Until then, I have a folder full of pictures that allow me to appreciate little things, in what overall is a very incomplete picture. And that part of the ride, is better than not having that luxury.
