I joined a posse in RDR and i only had a goat.
Everyone else has stallions and shit.
My character was a fat mexican, i rode the donkey so hard trying to keep up with everyone it died and i was left behind as they got into a cool gunfight.

Did you not play all that much? I had the GOTY edition so I don't know if it already came with unlocked horses (I think I had access to the bull right away) but yeah there was quite a bit of grind-to-unlock-to-git-gud and starting off was such a pain. My first two times ever loading into the online world I just got immediately mauled by packs of mountain lions, and then came other players.
but at least it wasn't like GTA:O, noo Wild West equivalent of a fighter jet or tank.
