anyone else here no longer enjoy listening to music?
even if i am drunk or drugged i cant get a 'feel' for it like i could a few years back.
>>
>>29726407

I mean are you still listening to the same old songs from forever ago? That might be it.

The internet nearly ruined music for me. In the late 90s you could just buy an overpriced CD with your hard-earned lawn-mowing money based on the cover alone, take it home, lay on your bed next to your stereo with some earphones and just take it all in and do nothing else except for maybe reading the lyrics out of the linear notes. That CD would sound like magic and retain that magic sound for years.

With the internet, I would download 5 or 6 albums a week and not pay for any of them, listen to them once and already get bored of it.

Since then I've cut back on my pirating rampage and have actually bought music again, if only in digital form. I've also expanded my taste in music.

It used to be just punk/metal but now it's just about everything and anything.
>>
stop listening to popular music, there's more music than the garbage that came with the 20th century.
>>
>>29726626
>the garbage that came with the 20th century.

Surely you mean 21st century.
>>
>>29726407
I never did like to listen to music, people find that very weird.

I just find music distracting and annoying, don't even listen to radio in the car.

>>29726407
>tfw listetning the same artists for 20 years becouse i cant open myself for anything new

i dont want to listem them anymore

Opposite: it's the last thing I am able to really enjoy.
>>
No, ill always "feel" it

Try listening to different music OP, or just soundscapes like this album
Gas - Pop
Or
...And Water Cycles
Or
mort garson plantasia

Or maybe like listen to whole albums like Tommy by the Who or a Frank Zappa album.
Dont just expect being drunk makes everything more fun.
>>
>>29726579
What the fuck are you talking about. Are you implying that not having to pay for music and not having to listen to the same shit all the time makes music worse?
>>
>>29727036
> not having to pay for music

It doesn't make music objectively worse, but it lowers one's appreciation of music for sure. You appreciate a a single slice of cake that you bought for yourself more than you do eating an entire cake for free.

It's not just music but also video games and movies and porn and whatever else that is instantly available on the internet.

We have practically all of the world's knowledge and recorded forms of entertainment at our fingertips for free on the internet, and people still manage to find themselves bored with it all.

surefire path to plebeian-hood

>ignoring my whole post because I said plebeian
Why do refuse to acknowledge all forms of music? Do you hate it?

And there's good art music from the 20th century
>>
>>29727321
There's a wide range of music from the 20th century, the 21st century isn't amazing so far but it's only 15 years young.
>>
>>29726407
listen to another kind of music.
>>
>>29727376
>all forms of music
Popular music isn't music.
>There's a wide range of music from the 20th century
Nope.
>the 21st century isn't amazing so far but it's only 15 years young.
Irrelevant, it's all garbage.
>>
What's worse is that music feels as intense as it has ever been for you but you can't listen to it anymore because of your ears hurting.

I don't give a fuck where my life goes anymore, what it entails, who I see, what I smell, what I do; just fucking shit my fucking dick up my asshole and feed me a military-issue hand grenade.
>>
>>29727797
t. 16 year old who just listened to Mozart

Get a grip on yourself, man

>Popular music isn't music.

I'm 28.

Stop deluding yourself, please.
>>
>Never listen to music of my own volution.
>never get emotional response from music as normies describe it
>can't remember the lyrics of 1 song or name 10 artists

Get on my autism level, music taste is the human equivalent of the weird mating dance of peacocks. It's a weird thing people throw around to try to impress others.
>>
>>29726407
What kind of music was your favourite? Mine is extremely varied - folk music, classical, hip hop, pop.

Here, OP, I'll throw my hat into the ring... This is just some random stuff from my playlists. I'd like to see some of yours.

kokeen
Ennio Marricone - Ecstasy of Gold (Nike Remix)
Manson - attack of the grey lantern
ZZ Top
Pink Floyd
Arvo Part

tons more.

What you got?
>>
>>29727917
I was mostly just insulting you, but you still have a horrendous outlook on music. What's you're problem that you can't enjoy anything but art music, and even then not anything from the year 1900 on? You're purposefully letting yourself miss out on a lot of music.

And I suspect you don't bother listening to traditional music, which makes it even worse.

You are worse than the average top 40 listener
>>
Yeah I used to be obnoxiously into music but now I can sit in silence for hours without it. When I do seek music out I'll download 50 albums, skim through each track until I find something I like and delete anything I don't.
>>
>>29727996
>horrendous
omg how dare you not listen to garbage its fucking 2016 you need to be culturally enriched and diversified
>>
Just self insert as the lead singer, then imagine your parents, old friends, and the girl that rejected you watching you live or listening to your songs on the radio and being proud/jealous.

This is the way a true autist listens to his music, if you don't do this you are pretty much a huge normalfag and can get the fuck off of my board.
>>
>>29728026
You said itt that you refuse to listen to any music from this or the last century. That's 116 years. 2016 is one year.

In any case, you haven't put forth one iota of evidence regarding why music from 1900-now isn't worth listening to. And I'm not talking about top 40, I'm talking about all of music for the past 116 years.

AND you don't listen to trad
>>
I've really gotten into metal and rap since I started working. Need high energy stuff to keep d
Going.
>>
>>29728109
Are you illiterate? You're putting words into my mouth.

Traditional music is glorified popular music.
>>
>>29726407
take 1.5 grams mushrooms (2nd time tripping, first was an major ayahuasca like experience where I had ALS Lou Gherigs almost)

Listen to music: EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE AND HELPS ME RELATE TO MY PROBLEMS

today: movies, music, games have virtually 0 worth and I live in complete silence unless I am outside skating which is 3/7 days a week
>>
>>29726407
This happens to me periodically, I just don't listen to anything for a week or so and I'll be able to enjoy it again

And yeah physical media is nice, it's kind of lame having an amazing album delegated to a folder in C: and tracklist in your media player. I feel similarly about movies and games, I think the latter's increasing focus on digital distribution is especially damaging to the sense of magic
>>
>>29728284
>traditional music is glorified popular music
Now, you're either baiting or have no idea what you're talking about.

Traditional music is all of music long before art music even existed and long before popular music existed. Without traditional music, there would be no music.

here is where you denied all of the music in the 20th and 21st centuries

I don't enjoy music really. I tried at times to get interested in music, but the music doesn't trugger me no

>Now, you're either baiting or have no idea what you're talking about.
Projecting.
>here is where you denied all of the music in the 20th and 21st centuries
All (popular) music.
>>
>>29728769
What sort have you listened to? Maybe I can recommend you something to spark the interest.
>>
>>29726407

Yeah. I had a phase where I was obsessed with music but it dropped after a year so I haven't listening to music much voluntarily for years
>>
>>29728938
>All (popular) music.
Well here (>>29727797), you can see that you stated that all art music from the 20th century was irrelevant garbage. Stop trying to backpedal.

>Projecting
nice buzzword, but you're supposed to know what it means before you use it

Oh, no you didn't my mistake.

Still, you have a very obtuse stance on music, especially traditional music, your opinion on that was ind of embarrassing
