I'm 22 and up until now, I've ruined every second of my life with my own stupidity. I didn't really realize that I was ruining my time and still tried to enjoy stuff, meaning that I ruined my first experience with a lot of anime/manga/games and hentai. Is there any way to get over this? It feels like I almost insulted all the story-based entertainment I tried to enjoy and it doesn't seem possible to fully enjoy to porn I jerked off to before now. And 2D stuff is my life so the thought of having less 2D stuff to enjoy because of my own stupidity is terrifying. It's like my life has received a huge permanent downgrade. It almost makes me feel like a lesser life form or something, since I've basically lowered the maximum amount of happiness i can feel. I wish I could delete my memories.
Is it really as bad as it seems? Am I overlooking any "upside" of ruining my first experience with so many things? The ways in which I ruined my time were very unnatural, so this seems like it might just be a straight-up downgrade.

>meaning that I ruined my first experience with a lot of anime/manga/games and hentai
Can you elaborate? I don't really understand this part.

My life was shit and I would have enjoyed those things more if I were happy.
Watching anime in a good mood is more enjoyable than watching it in a bad mood.

>sell your computer, delete all your animes and games, burn/sell any weebs related thing
>go out
>find other activity for new escapism, better be productive and fun
>socialize with people, baby step
>???
>profit

just do that and just do it , NOW

This is the stupidest non issue I've ever seen an anon post on r9k about.

For example, watching welcome to the nhk whilst depressed only enhanced that show for me.

I don't think you read the OP. And if you did, you have zero reading comprehension.

If your life was good you would consume less or no anime/VNs/whatever in the first place. It's escapism so you need to forget about the real world if you want to immerse into it.
>>
>first experience
doesn't mean shit
>maximum enjoyment
You learn to enjoy things more the more you understand about what the show is trying to do. Camera angles, when the BGM starts in, the way a VA will voice a certain character etc.
You can learn to get better at enjoying things.
Right now you're just expecting some sort of magic to influence your feelings like the rest of the robots. This is why people love drugs, because it forces your body into different states.
"Happiness' mostly comes from putting effort into something and paying attention, you get that feeling from feeling grateful or tired/satisfied after you spent a lot of time invested in making something work.
Its not about 'maxing' enjoyment, thats just not possible. You could just do meth then and burn your brain out for five years until you die.
I'm 29 and I've been into anime torrents wise since '05ish and I still enjoy it, even more now that I have more series under my belt and am looking forward to new designs and conventions over time.

Sort of know where you're coming from. There are a few shows i watched while anxiety ridden and I can never enjoy them again because it brings back the memories.

You're placing way too much importance on "your first time" though. What >>29607369 said goes. Enjoyment only increases as your experience grows. Learning film theory increases enjoyment of films. Studying literature increases enjoyment of books etc.

Explain to me how I'm wrong. My reply was to his second post.

I guess you're right. Come to think of it, I was going to watch the anime eventually anyway. Even if the first time would be more enjoyable now, the first time will be over after it's over and it's not like I get pleasure from the sole memory of my first time watching an anime. The knowledge of what happens in the story is really the only important thing you keep from watching an anime.
Same with porn. I was going to jerk off to it eventually. I was going to end up in this state eventually.

Hm, the solution was so simple. What was I even thinking while making the OP? I hope I'm not forgetting anything.
