Hello there, wagie!

How was work? Wait, what's that..? Mr Shekelstein made you work unpaid overtime? What a shame! Hahaha, oh well.

As for me, I've begun writing my thesis on ancient Greek philosophy. It's really interesting and I'm glad that I have the time to study it.

As Epictetus said

"There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power or our will."

So don't get upset when your tax money goes to my NEET brethren!

Oh would you look at the time! I have a physics lecture to attend. In my abundance of free time I have developed theories which rival those of Newton and Einstein themselves. Well, I'll see you later!

And as always...

Another day, another dollar.

According to the biblical tradition the absence of work -- idleness -- was a condition of the first man's state of blessedness before the Fall. The love of idleness has been preserved in fallen man, but now a heavy curse lies upon him, not only because we have to earn our bread by the sweat of our brow, but also because our sense of morality will not allow us to be both idle and at ease. Whenever we are idle a secret voice keeps telling us to feel guilty. If man could discover a state in which he could be idle and still feel useful and on the path of duty, he would have regained one aspect of that primitive state of blessedness. And there is one such state of enforced and irreproachable idleness enjoyed by an entire class of men -- the military class. It is this state of enforced and irreproachable idleness that forms the chief attraction of military service, and it always will.
>>

Can you name some of those theories? They sound interesting

Have fun, I myself study psychology in my free time. Much more practical, but then a smart lad like you knew that already.

Feels good to be a NEET and using my freetime to become a polymath. Knowing psychology, ecology, evolutionary biology, sociology and philosophy will surely put Goethe to shame.

I suggest my fellow NEETs to read Nassim Taleb. He totally BUSTED the idea that knowledge comes from academia. It are NEETs with too much free time which REALLY contribute to society.

Well as hyperbolic as these wagecucking threads are I'm a NEET and ignoring the issues that have lead me here it's the superior way of life. The character portrayed in the OP certainly does reflect fairly well aside from my social phobia and autism. It'd be silly to consider which is more pathetic though. Because that's only based on the transient opinions of society. There's (no joke) modern day NEET mathematicians. Once they become more well known (mathematicians never really do unless you're Euler, Gauss or Ramanujan (so impressive)) the perception will change. You can probably take some intelligence measurement test in the future and pledge to follow your own societally beneficial pursuits without all the academic overhead. It's a far more efficient model. These people don't work for money. They work for the sake of it. So the average wagecuck pay just being given to them (like in my case) is just positive. There'd likely be places to meet other intellectuals too to substitute University. Since University is mostly superfluous aside from the post-graduate studies.

The world is looking quite bright if people just let it be.

Hey there NEET slave. How's the basement treating you? Still masturbating to My Little Ponies...err I mean "studying philosophy?" Oh really? Your mom is only crying about how much of an embarrassment you are only 4 hours a day instead of the usual 5+? Hey that's an improvement!

Well I've got to go. Lunch break is almost over and I got to get back to my $240 per day job. I've been hitting on the secretary lately. Maybe I'll ask her out for coffee today. Man it would suck not being able to flirt with hot girls everyday at work. But I'm sure you have a girlfriend, right, NEET?

Well adios.
>>
>>29323056
Diogenes wasn't the Arch-NEET, he lived like a filthy dog instead of taking advantage of the system and living comfily. He was just an edgy contrarian.
>>
>>29321770
you would have to assume being a NEET is being idle

if they were in person today, do you think cain would call abel a NEET? think about it
>>
>>29323117
>do you think cain would call abel a NEET?

Cain and Abel didn't live in the Garden of Eden, they were born after mankind was already cursed to work and suffer.
>>
>>29322550
Bonuses are generally separate from benefits such as insurance, 401k/IRA, company car/lodging and other amenities.

Bonuses are different because they are not set in stone due to them generally being based on certain performance indicators.

Last year we made x% more than our projected amounts and I got a 5000 dollar bonus plus a 15k profit share check to split between us for our 401k.
>>
Why are NEET threads always the most intelligent on r9k?
It's obviously not a high standard but still.

What system? In fucking ancient Corinth? No neetbux back then amigo. Everything smelled like shit except the elites & all the common people lived like dogs.

>Diogenes not comfy
Just look at this comfy bastard. There were Corinthian farmers who had it worse.

He managed to be neither a wageslave nor an actual slave (except that one time because pirates) in a time where such was the absolute norm.
>>
>>29323243
The NEET is not interested in praise, money and approval. The NEET has an intristic motivation to do that which he, rarely she, is truelly interested in.
They need the freetime to engage in their intellectual pursuits. The only way to do this is the NEET life.
Only a select few of academics have the chance to do this: most of them are still wagecucks.
>>
>>29323163

your point? a NEET does work, the difference between the NEET decendants and you is their work doesn't involve becoming a slave to mammon. refrain from inserting your own headcanon next time btw to scripture (idleness is the condition of the fall). the book isn't up for personal interpretation
>>
This morning the depression was too crippling so I called in sick.
Ho hum.
>>
>>29323312
Gonna have to elaborate anon. I don't live like this out of choice. But given the set of parameters I suggested it's superior. Work in a hierarchical structure is obviously to some degree involuntary unless you get off on it or something.
>>
>>29323328
What the fuck are you talking about you dumb wagecuck. NEETs don't do work, they're idle, just like Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, and unlike Cain and Abel who were cursed to have to work all their lives.

I suppose you can't expect a wagecuck to actually have some education since he's busy slaving away all his days, but please make an effort.
>>
>>29323314
Do you know what a lecture is? What would suggest he's not NEET by going to a physics lecture? What makes his learning formal just because he's going to a lecture? Would you stop being a NEET if you happen upon a MIT open courseware lecture online?
>>
>>29323390
What was Socrates? Pythagoras?
What are Buddhist monks? Homeguards?

If your definition of work is narrow enough, sure you're correct. But but at least redefine work from the normal usage we tend to share then.
>>
>>29323267
Our profit sharing is invested by an investment group who handles a 401k in our name. Because it's not our earnings we don't really see any tax deduction. The check we get is like those big fake checks in that they are mainly symbolic of the money.

I use a Roth IRA for my savings on the side.

It's ok though, I know you are referring to pre tax deductions from your check that go into your 401k that most people are familiar with

tick tock slave. the synagouge of satan is expecting you in their office NOW. break time is OVER. MAMMON demands you break your back so get to it.

but before you go let me leave you this bit of factual information concerning the word; had cain not been thrown into a fit of bloodlust for abel inherting the blessings(and through this blessing the inheretance of the earth through his seed), which inevitably became the (N?)MEEK in due time, maybe you wouldn't feel the need today to use obscenities in an intellectual discourse involving scripture and instead have true growth in your understanding. i'm going to get a little rest now. These gains need their attention, all that free time to (work)out has been giving me the resukts i've so desired.

University lectures are free to attend. That's so that the general public can civilize themselves, without need to be enrolled.
