I don't think that's true anywhere. Even in Europe the best you get is it's free. Sometimes you can get scholarships, and community college is cheap, though.

No, and it's probably less efficient for that. Medicare (our sort of public health insurance) is actually more efficient than private insurance. Generally health insurance is covered by employers, so you get your healthcare if you have a job. The affordable care act changed some stuff but fuck if I can bother to learn how things work now.

American 20somethings are actually living at home for longer, for a few reasons. It's okay to live at home longer nowadays, though you're generally still working or being a student while you do so.

austrialia is a chill place but if you're rich or innovative then america is pretty much the only place in the world to really call home. i really don't think very many people here struggle in any aspect of life; our poor are gluttons and our regular students can somehow afford to spend 80% of their time partying, drinking and smoking and still come out relatively prepared for jobs that in 5-10 years give them access to buying houses and all sorts of shit.
