it wouldn't make sense if bravery was genetic, because it depends so much on a lot of other qualities and the environment to be effective in any way and not a hazard to your health.

do you shitpost without asking for permission? do you play action video games without closing your eyes? you're just as brave as anyone else can be, you just probably refuse to do things you think are "heroic" in the context of useful activities. it's called laziness. that's not genetics either. if you had to adjust, you would. you just have the choice not to, and prefer the simple life (which has many consequences).
