I've just concluded that interacting with them too frequently or establishing some sort of relationship (friendship or otherwise) puts me at risk of losing temporal and monetary resources. I don't necessarily take issue with risk in general, but there needs to be a potential return that justifies that risk (which women do not provide).

Well, everyone who was on /b/, usually when they were younger, were there because /b/ was infamous and they wanted to be a part of that. After a certain amount of time spent on /b/ they grow up and move onto one of the other non-porn related boards. That seems to be the simple pattern of it. People not having a lot of success in life will probably spend a lot of time here.
