WELCOME TO HOTLINE 09 QUEST.

18 years ago, disaster struck. Russia and the United States entered into a nuclear conflict, destroying most of the lower East Coast and Hawaii, as well as some Russian bullshit you don't care about.


RECAP: Your name isn't hugely important at the moment, but you're called Nigress by the person you work under, an individual of dubious intention who calls themselves Abom. They have strange plans for you, and are holding your sister hostage - every mission you do for them, a mission which invariably includes mass slaughter, is put on a timer. Following their orders gives you more time. Being a bad girl takes it away.

You have nothing left, but you do have her.

Your money pile is at around 1500 dollars.
You have two weapons stored, the Baseball Bat (large 1h), and the Monkey Wrench (small).


Your powers are:
Batter Up 1 (Murder - Allows you to wield Baseball Bats as a small sized weapon)
Snakearms 1 (Style - Increase the possibility of knocking an enemy out with a thrown weapon.)
Pistol Whip 1 (Style - Using a gun as a melee or thrown weapon is more effective.)


Your masks are:
Richard (Chicken) is a silent mask. It tells you nothing, and allows you to keep an even keel.
Rasmus (Owl) is a wise mask. It makes you feel like you can see through things. You feel like wearing it may randomly mark interesting features on Abom's maps, but that's preposterous.
Tony (Tiger) is a ferocious mask. When you wear it, you feel a bloodlust overtake you, making it impossible to use any sort of guns but also making you much faster and more vicious.
Aubrey (Pig) is a deadly mask. When you wear it, you always coincidentally find a gun nearby before you go on a mission.
Don Juan (Horse) is a calm mask. It allows you to think faster, but, most importantly, lets you kick down doors cleanly and easily.

BACK TO THE PRESENT: You travel, dressed in only your hoodie and your scarred face. You're pale enough to avoid drawing the ire of most authority figures - you look more like a nerdy, unpopular girl than a drug-addled, masked serial killer. Under your hoodie is rippled musculature built from plenty of batting practice and wanton killing, but from the outside, you look a bit like a chubby schlub. You even wear shitty Apple default headphones even though you know you can afford much more expensive ones.

You arrive at your drug dealer's den, in an apartment building in the worse part of town. You consider your relative butter-face-ness a blessing, considering you very rarely get harassed on the streets on the way to your drug dealer.

You knock on the door, knowing he'll be awake - he sleeps in the afternoon and is awake through the early morning. He's nocturnal.

"Buying or selling?"

"Selling."

"Show me what you got."

You pull the little baggie of cocaine from your pocket, and he eyes it warily. You trust him, let him pry it open so that he can give it a test himself, taking a tiny shot up his crusted nose, letting it buzz his tongue. He smacks it against the roof of his mouth, nods his head, pulls out a scale, and gets to weighing.

"I can give you 100 dollars for this. Take it or leave it."

Also, for those new, the way action in this quest is as follows:

For Action Scenes - The first 5 people roll 3d6 for their action. Whoever rolls highest has their action or sequence of actions performed. In case of a tie, it is left to DM discretion. In case there are not enough rolls, whoever has rolled the highest 20 minutes after the last post has their action performed instead, so as to keep the story moving.

For Non-Action Scenes - Whatever option has the most people voting for it at the end of 20/30/40/60 minutes (depending on how busy the quest is.

"Take it." You respond. You aren't very certain on the price to weight ratio of cocaine - you just take the stuff when you need to murder things really really well, so you assume that his offer is reasonable. He pulls out a wad of twenty dollar bills from inside his pants and hands them to you, you dutifully pocket them.

"Anything else I can get you today, Sarai?"

You flinch instinctively.

Drugs are performance enhancers that fall into two categories - Action Drugs and Non-Action Drugs. Action Drugs are taken before a mission or Action Scene, and improve your performance: these include drugs like Cocaine, Adderall, Caffeine, etc. Non-Action Drugs are taken in your apartment during a day phase and have varying effects: Weed, for example, will lower mental stress, while Morphine will dull physical pain, and so on, and so forth. If you can think of a drug, your dealer (Wilhelm, by the by) probably has it.

"How much is Adderall, or Morphine?" You ask, lying on his couch lazily.

"For Adderall, you have the normal pills, which last you for five hours and are a quick burst, with 3 for 20 dollars. Additionally, I just recently got Adderall extended release, which give you less energy but'll keep you awake for longer, and last for about 10 hours. They're 10 dollars per pill. As for Morphine, I can sell you a 60 mg pill for 15 dollars a pop." He tells you.

You have 200 dollars on you at the moment (You don't normally bring a lot of cash with you unless you plan on spending it from beforehand). How much do you want to buy?

Adderall - Action Drug. Increases your energy for one mission.
Adderall XE/Concerta - Non-Action Drug. Allows you to take a Nocturnal Phase Non-Action scene.
Morphine - Non-Action Drug. Allows you to deal with physical pain more easily.

"No problem." He says, getting up from the couch and going to his bedroom (The Storeroom, as he calls it), and returning with your drugs in tow. As a final farewell, you share some of his joint, not enough to get you high, but enough to give you a little buzz.

"Okay, sleep time. Bye." He says, gently shoving you away, and then slamming the door shut.

The gym is lively. It's a Saturday, so there's a fair amount of people here, and you don't stand out. You get into your workout clothes, which is to say, you take your hoodie and undershirt underneath off to reveal your sports bra and muscly body, soccer shorts hanging limply off your waistline.

If only you didn't have such a battle scarred face.

You spend the afternoon on the treadmill.

You are a very fast runner already, but you can always get faster. You never did track and field in high school, since you never turned yourself into a sleek and powerful murder machine until the summer of your Junior Year, but that's a story for another time and place. You used to be a fairly gross-looking individual, all things considered - walking up stairs would leave you winded, you jiggled and wobbled with every step, but now you can jog slash run for a couple of hours at a time with only the most joyous of discomforts in your calves, thighs, and lungs.

The only thing you miss is your boobs, and they sort of got in the way anyway.

You break for lunch, continue to run, and then take your leave of the place without having spoken a single word to anyone. Your legs will be sore for about 24 hours, and exercising too much will leave you injured, but they aren't so sore as to prevent you from doing tonight's mission.
