My name is Rugo, and I am the one who has transported you here. In this world you will find both perilous dangers and precious memories, should you choose to proceed.
You may also choose to wake up back in your own universe, with no memory of my taking you whatsoever. Why would you ever want something like that, you ask?

You are in the southern district of the Midland Cities, in a tavern. The lighting is low, and the air is thick with pipe smoke and the stench of everyone around you.
You're sipping on some cheap mead, hunched over the bar table. The tender is idly wiping mugs.
Suddenly a small voice calls up to you, and you turn to see a little girl. She can't be more than sixteen.
"Um, excuse me sir. You wouldn't happen to be a mercenary would you?"
