You are an insect living in a fantasy world filled with many different and unique environments. One day while hunting for food, you fall into a portal and find yourself in a new area you have never seen before. Armed with nothing but your own body and spell power, you must travel throughout the world and attempt to return to your home before the breeding season ends. Fight, scavenge, and stay alive in this harsh world. Be careful however, as there are many other insects and animals that are hungry and territorial. It’s survival of the fittest in this dog eat dog world! But before we begin, which insect are you exactly?
>>
Cutter Leaf (Plant/Air)

- A small insect with large red beady eyes. It is capable of punching and slicing its enemies with its leafy green carapace. It also has a proboscis that can extend and shoot out a burst of air at range.

Can climb and stick to walls with ease.

Acid Mounder (Earth/Acid)

- A medium-sized red ant with powerful muscles. Its powerful jaw leaks acid and can crush rock and carapace alike. Both antennae move about freely and can channel energy to shape the environment around it.

Can sort of climb. Can burrow into the ground easily.

Chameleon Mosquito (Poison/Fire)

- A medium-sized brown insect that flies around and sucks blood from its prey. Its long wings are powerful and allow it to move effortlessly through the air. Its proboscis can pierce enemies and drain their fluids, though it has a bit of trouble when it comes to tougher hides. Its body can change color for camouflage.

Can fly with good agility and speed, can sort of climb

Bombadier Scarab (Lightning/Dark)

-A large black scarab beetle with a thick durable carapace. Its carapace seems to ooze out a dark aura that moves every which way. Its legs spark with electricity. Its body is very durable and tough, and the electricity it generates is very powerful. The scarab beetle has wings, but it flies slowly and is rather clumsy.

Can sort of climb, poor flying.

Razor Ice Mantis (Water/Ice)

A sub-species of praying mantis with blue skin and gills. Its front arms are powerful and can be used to slice through most armor and are cold to the touch. Both its legs and arms have thin hairs which help it swim better in water. On its back there is a special pouch which can fill up with fluids. This pouch connects to various parts of the body and can expel its contents from any of these areas on the body.

Excellent swimmer, can breathe underwater, can sort of climb.

Acid mounder it is then!

For the beginning I'll allow you to choose two different skills. You can link these skills to either the jaw, the antennae, or the body.

If the jaw or antennae are damaged enough or ripped off, the character will not be able to use these skills until the body part heals or regenerates. Linking to the body will allow you to use this move regardless of your health, though they are usually weaker.

>>189365
Body skill: Stand on two legs and fight like a boxer.

QM left. Another potentially good quest dead.

I didn't leave. I was just waiting for the second skill.

Do any of you have any ideas for a second skill, or should I just make it up myself?

Both skills are accepted then.

You find yourself in an area with nothing but bare dirt and a couple blades of grass every now and then.

To the left of your position there is a small rotten stump, and on all other sides there doesn't seem to be anything of interest, at least not in the immediate area.

What do you do?
>>
>>189525
Search for a vantage point.
>>
>>189525
I guess I'll follow the obvious railroad seeing as there are no prompts.
>Go to stump
>>
>>189525
Use our heat-sensing antennae to examine the rotten stump as we approach it.
>>
>>189535
>>189536
>>189543

You decide to check out the stump to see if you can see anything from the top of it. You move over to it carefully as you examine the area for any signs of life or heat. You don't seem to find any though and not long after you reach the stump.

You spot a small entrance inside the stump, though who knows what could be lying inside of it. Perhaps there is a path that might lead to the top from there. On the other hand you could just as easily climb the stump from the side.

What do you do?

>Enter the entrance of the stump
>Climb the side to the top
>Turn around and go somewhere else.

>Enter the entrance of the stump
>>
You enter the stump and continue to keep a lookout for any potential signs of life. As luck would have it, you don't seem to find anything that is actually alive. You continue down the tunnel and feel a bit happy as it reminds you of your own colonies mound.

You then suddenly stumble across a fork in the tunnel.

You decide that taking the left path is the best idea. You continue to follow it and eventually find your way into a decently sized room. You sense some heat, but quickly realize that this heat is coming off of a lone egg. The egg rocks back and forth violently as it looks like its about to hatch soon.

What do you do?
>>
>>189602
Fight the egg
>>
>>189602
Teleport back home with magic, or alternatively, kill ourself with magic.
>>
>>189602
Talk to the egg.
>>
>>189602
Inspect the egg before it hatches, perhaps it looks familiar?
>>
>>189608
Unfortunately, this is impossible as you don't know how to teleport, or even where home exactly is.

>>189614
You quickly inspect the egg, and determine it has grey/green markings all over it. You don't recognize the species of this egg though.

>>189610
You attempt to talk to the egg, but realize that it can't understand your language. If you want to communicate you'll need to perform some gestures.

>>189605
The egg suddenly hatches and out pops a small white worm larvae with a bird like beak. It looks around for a moment and spots you. Standing up like a snake, the larvae growls angrily as it slithers towards you.

What do you do? Vote on an action.

>Charge at the larvae and bite it
>Sidestep around the larvae and pummel it with your skill.
>Attempt to flee.

You charge at the larvae as its beak and your mandibles clash. You wrestle with the larvae for a moment before ripping off its beak in one fell swoop. Spitting the body part aside you tear into the larvae's stomach as it struggles to escape from your strong grip. The acid from your mouth drips down onto the larvae and begins to melt its body making it easier to bite through. Shortly after its movements begin to slow down as the larvae eventually dies.

A single larvae is no match for the might of an Acid Mounder!

What do you do?

>Eat the body (You're not that hungry but you could eat a little)
>Exit the room and go down the other path.
>Travel down the hallway on the opposite side of the room and continue exploring.

You leave the fallen insect larvae behind and continue to make your way through the tree stump. It's not long before you reach the end of the tunnel and find yourself above ground at the top of the tree trunk. You take a good look around you and find that the grass seems to grow farther down to the left. In the opposite direction the grass seems to disappear almost completely. Going forward and backwards doesn't seem to have that much of a change. There are still no trees or any other large objects you can see from this height.

Suddenly a large shriek can be heard emanating from the path you just came from. It must be the mother of the larvae you just killed, and it sounds incredibly angry.

What do you do?

>Climb down the Rotten Tree Trunk.
>Enter the tunnels again and try to fend off the mother.

You quickly scuttle down the side of the rotting tree trunk, being careful not to cause any noise. The shrieking mother seems to be getting closer, but she's far enough away that you don't have to worry to much.

You hop off of the tree trunk after reaching the bottom and decide to.

>Travel down the middle path
>Travel over to the grasslands
>Travel over to the barren and sparse soil.
>>
>>189784
>travel over the grasslands
>>
>>189784

We can get into the grass if the mother decides to chase us at a larger speed than we are travelling at.
>>
>>189784
>Travel down the middle path
but I'll vote >Travel over to the grasslands if that'll speed up the decision.
>>
>>189807
Changing my vote to middle path, this man made a good point.
>>
>>189802
>>189807

You quickly decide to head down the middle path as you pick up speed so that the mother hopefully won't be able to follow or give chase.

Half an hour later you slow down as you realize that the mother doesn't seem to be following you. Too easy! You think as you continue onwards. An hour passes and you start to feel slightly hungry. What do you do?

>Search for food
>Continue down the path
>Travel to the grasslands or barren area?

[Write-in]
>>

>Travel to the grasslands

A path won't hold much food, grasslands will.

>Search for food in the grasslands upon arrival.
>>
>>189839
Eat grass.
>>
>>189844
>>189848
>>189855

You decide that obtaining some food in the grasslands is your best bet. You enter the area and decide that the grass is pretty abundant, and maybe it tastes good. You walk over to it and take a small bite only to spit it out.

Bleh! You think. Now you know why you never collected grass in the first place. You need something tastier like a fruit or a mushroom. You quickly perform a scan of the area and search for something tastier.

Roll me a 1d20.

A couple of hours pass and you can't seem to find anything worthwhile. Your stomach begins to rumble as you feel even hungrier. To make matters worse the sun is going down soon and you realize you'll need to hole up for the night. Lots of other insects become active near this time, and it's not exactly the safest place for a solitary ant. You have one last action before night falls.

What do you do?

>Search the area for shelter of some kind
>Explore the area and search for more food
>Travel deeper into the grasslands.

You search for some shelter and ultimately find a small burrow, only you have no idea what's in it. The entrance is partially cut off by a small bit of dirt, so it might be really old.

You also find a small pile of plant matter you can sleep under.

>Sleep in the small burrow
>Sleep under the plant matter

I'll be gone for 45 minutes to an hour

You slowly enter the burrow and walk around. You don't seem to sense anything at all as you continue down the burrow tunnel. Eventually you find the one room in this burrow with a small insect that seems to be giving off a lot of sleep. It's a red beetle with a large edged horn that could probably cut into your body if you're not careful. On the plus side the beetle still seems to be asleep, and it's not really all that large so you should be able to take it out fairly quickly.

What do you do?

>Abandon the thought of fighting this creature and just leave.
>Sneak up on it and kill it.
>Wake it up with a mighty roar and fight it.
>Sleep in the tunnels rather than the burrow room.

God, the powers of being a newfag have ruined my roll!

That roll!

You attempt to sneak up on the beetle and quietly make your way towards him. Unfortunately for you, you knock a couple of pebbles out of way which bounce off of the ground and wake up the beetle as it groggily gets up.

You're not going to give it even a moment to react. You charge at the beetle full speed, only for the beetle to move out of the way and cut into your side with its sword horn. It hurts quite a bit as you wince, and turn back towards the beetle just as it jumps away and eyes you from far back.

What do you do?

You both charge at each other and meet in the center of the room. The Beetle tries to slash at you with its horn, but to your highly trained eyes and reflexes the attacks are slow and clumsy. You easily evade three of the attacks before standing up on two legs and letting out a barrage of punches hitting the beetle everywhere all over its body. With one final punch the beetle is knocked across the room and lands on the floor with a thud.

He's not completely out of the fight yet and slowly rises again. In a fit of desperation the beetle begins to channel energy into its horn causing it to glow lightly.

Your heat sensors begin to feel a large amount of heat seeping out through the horn as it starts to catch on fire. The beetle eyes you carefully as it begins to take a couple of steps towards you, not taking any chances.

What do you do?
>Attack the beetle's body directly
>Attempt to rip off the beetle's horn before it can use it against you.

You decide to just finish off the beetle in one shot as you slowly walk your way over to it. As you near each other the beetle suddenly lunges as you try to move out of the way.

The horn grazes your side as you bite down on the beetles mid-section and rip it into two. The now split beetle tries to crawl away as its strength fades.

You move outside and grab some of the plant matter to cover up most of the tunnels entrance. You then enter the room again and quickly fall asleep.

You later wake up in the morning.

What do you do?
>Eat the corpse of the beetle
>Leave the burrow

I have to go for now, but I will return later.
