Welcome to Innistrad Quest, set on one of Magic the Gathering's most popular, deep and well-developed planes in recent history, populated by Werewolves, Zombies and Millennia-old Vampires that would gore Edward Cullen in the blink of an eye.
Humanity is fighting for their survival, and are losing, and the magic left behind by their recently disappeared goddess guardian angel Avacyn has started to fade, losing them their most powerful weapon and the faith required to access it.
I've run a quest before, under another name, to middling success, and I thought it'd be fun to try again.
This time, with a hook, so to speak.
It's not vital, so those who just want to have an adventure without any bullshit can feel free to ignore spoilered text.I'm GM'ing a game where the PC's have ended up with planeswalker powers, and their next stop is Innistrad. I figured I could try and see how it would go if one influenced the other.Probably terrible, but hey, never know if you don't try.
As for the roll system, I feel like doing something easy. Tri-stat, 2d6, roll-under.
Distribute 10 points among Body, Spirit and Intellect, with a cap of 6 starting out.
Additionally, which province would you prefer to start out in?
>Thraben, humanity's civilized stronghold and last pure bastion of good
>Stensia, mountain home of stubborn, resilient people who manage to live in this world all on their own
>Kessig, the forest province where weirdness, superstition and werewolves abound
>Nephalia, the trade and smuggling capital of Innistrad, this province is almost like one big port town
Map to come
>>103573
And we're off to a great start, with me derping and mistaking Thraben and Gavony for one another.
It is, in fact, Gavony that's the bastion of humanity, and Thraben the high city of priests and inquisitors.
This map, while fan-made (no official map exists, as far as I can tell) should illustrate the layout of the world somewhat.
And while we're at it, we can probably start character generation as well.

Along with the way you want stats distributed.
First roll counts, but crit fails or successes within the five next rolls increase the net result by -1 or +1.
The options with the most votes, obviously, are chosen, even across posts.

>Greatest fear
1:Greatest fear of proffession; where his dreams die
Being so overpowered by an individual or group as to be stricken of positions of power and prestige.
He targets those he sees as a threat and attempts to wipe them out before they can overtake him.
2:Greatest fear of person; what makes him cower
Suprise attacks/things he can't plan for.
Seriously, if something so much as taps his shoulder without him suspecting it, he will flip his shit.
Spends an obnoxious amount of time contemplating possibilities and preparing for them.
3:Greatest fear of inevitability; when he gives in
His power coming to wane.
He knows that eventually, all empires fall, be they secular or criminal
He hopes that all his planning and forthought is enough to bring his creation to such security that it will last for as long as he does, that is, for an eternity.
4:Greatest fear of adversary; whom he cannot overcome
Those who can outplan/overpower him.
Being so overpowered by an individual or group as to be stricken of positions of power and prestige, basically
If he knew who Nicol Bolas is, he would immediatly go into hiding and destroy all evidence of his existence until he can plan something to deal with the mastermind planeswalker.

>Name
Vladimir Sault
>Age
37
>Gender
female
>Looks
Strikingly young. Miss Vladimir has short and neat hair of the a dark mahogany. Her eyes are like two perfectly cut agates, of a piercing yellowish hue. With her pale complexion she chooses heavy gear and travelwear of the likeness of styled cowls and windbreakers.
>Rough personality
Ferociously gregarious and vivant, but with a dark manipulative streak. Her desire is to corrupt and control everything she touches or see it burned to ashes, either suits her devilish tastes.
>Profession
Independent researcher of exoterics and maleficencies.
>Province
Kessig, born and raised. Studied in Nephalia under a necromancer Edwin in another life long ago. She left that past behind.
>Greatest fear
To age. Once faced with mortality, miss Vlad went half mad with terror and concocted a vile brew of rejuvenation from the life blood of monsters and vampires. It regenerated her flesh and bound her to an old demonic artefact, but her husband hadn't the same luck. He was devoured and his soul shackled by great fiend of the dead. You dread the same fate upon your own expiration, therefore you search for life eternal.

Are we allowed to use mana to cast spells from the cards?
>>117622
I'm willing to say you can cast one 1 cmc sorcery once a day. Choose well.
Also, it dawns on me that having everybody make their own snowflake was a bad idea, but you live and learn, I suppose.
I say we close submission of character concepts now, and vote for one of the ones we have. First to five votes wins.
>>118132
Too true. Chargen in these kinda things have to either be progressive or by the cards.
>>118524
Hm.
So, do we want a do-over, this time doing it progressively?
>>118530
You do what you gotta do boss. If you think it's best I am ok with it. You gotta write what makes you passionate.

That case, I'll throw out both the bathwater and the baby, and start by asking people to vote for
