>mfw visiting /b/ for the first time in 6 years
What the fuck happened over there?
>>
Very, very slowly it stopped being random.
>>
Normalfags flooded it. Well, more accurately they've been flooding it since 2005 but that's another story.

Still, at least it's innocuous now that it became little more than a porn dumping board. No more of that leejun shit, no more crossboard raids or shutting up the rest of the site.
>>
Nothing. You growing up happened.

There's probably some sociology paper out there about people given freedom being reduced to hedonism.
But I agree with >>564159 , they keep to themselves so I don't really care.

>go to random board
>its not random at all, its always bad porn of butterface high school girls way too young to be attractive to anyone of sound mind
We should rename it from Random to /b/ - Honeypot

Traps happened.

Forgot what happened with the actress pictures?

More newfags and underages started to browse it.

it hasn't been truly random for years. it's always been flooded with 3 or 4 kinds of threads. the types of threads have changed over the years.
>>
>>564291
Yeah, some sluts cried about the images they posted online ended up in circulation and m00t caved in the demands of the sluts who were having affairs like the little bitch he was.

/b/ merely shared images released to the world by the AM hack, they werent actually in the process and those images were posted everywhere from tumblr to imagur to facebook. Were you here when that went down?

You're right about the guy not being from /b/ (it was anontalk or something like that, I never remember the names), but I don't think your moot comments are fair.
He was hounded by lawyers representing people working for billion-dollar companies.
You're just young and very ignorant; you're not as invincible as you think you are.
>>
>>564152
Nothing. Things happened to you, and NOTHING happened to /b/.

Let that sink in. Remember what you were like 6 years ago.
>>
>>564762
/b/ used to be the most interesting 4chan board tho. They were 4chan’s original meme creators and invaders. Now it’s just nudes, traps, porn, rate me, etc .

Boards like /tv/, /r9k/, /pol/, /s4s/, and /v/ took over that role. Probably because they're slower.

I don't know how to break this to you, but all of those old memes that you used to love are terrible. Funny black man? Cockmongler? Jesus christ it's a lion get in the car? A winrar is you? AAAIIIIIIIIIRRRRR? Advice dog? They just aren't funny. They simply aren't funny.

/tv/, /r9k/, /pol/, /s4s/, and /v/ make things that are far funnier than anything /b/ used to make. (Except for /s4s/ although even there there's this meta awareness that makes you occasionally laugh at the sheer absurdity of it).

>Now it’s just nudes, traps, porn, rate me, etc .

I don't know how to break this to you, but /b/ has ALWAYS been "There are one or two nuggets of gold in a sea of absolute shit." That has always been what /b/ was. /b/ always knew itself to be that.

You know how we yell about how anybody different from us needs to return to reddit? We used to yell about how everybody remotely different from us needs to go back to Gaia, or Livejournal, or anything else.

The only difference between old /b/ and new /b/ is you. You no longer like those nuggets of "gold" where "gold" is a bunch of people shrieking "Epic Win" or whatever the fuck the new kids are saying. It's the same shit with a new coat of paint.
>>
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh man /b/ used to be so good, so fricking good

what happened to us man....................................................................................................................................
>>
>>564854
>all of those old memes that you used to love are terrible

memes are in-jokes. In 5-10 years, people are going to say the same thing about baneposting or carl the cuck.

In any case, /b/ doesn't come up with any new stuff anymore. It has become an irrelevant fap board.
>>
>>564896
The stupid banana.
>>
>>564873
Most recently?

>May 5 2016 - /b/ stages a raid on Pepsi after Judy (an anthropomorphic rabbit from the furry tract Zootopia), wins a hashtag related contest. They proceed to spam the everloving shit out of Pepsi's twitter account with R34 content lewdly censored with various Pepsi related iconography (penises replaced with Pepsi bottles, anuses replaced with the circular Pepsi logo, and various others).

[INFINITE]

I'm sorry, but what you said does not counter what I said. In fact, we agree. It had gotten less and less random, over a definable amount of time. Years, yes. Your rebuttal first agrees with my point, then your second point says that the point you and I agree on could never have existed in the first place.

You're pretty fucking weird, bro.

People using exaggerating terminology just triggers your little autism brain?
>>
>>564762
This argument is always brought up when discussing any long-lasting thing and it's always a load of shit.
10 years pass, the site gets 10 times more traffic and obviously there's no way it could have changed in any way whatsoever. It's always the beholder, because as we know, every community stays exactly the same for centuries, whether it grows, shrinks or explodes.
Yes, you do change and some things stop being funny or interesting - this doesn't mean there's no objective change at all. /b/ becoming a porn dump that you barely even notice on 4chan anymore is one such thing. When was the last time when some other board got raided by /b/? How many new site-wide memes actually come from there?
>>
>>565564
Nobody gives a shit if it's a load of shit or not, bro. 4chan isn't a fucking courtroom. We use unexacting language and call each other faggots. Nobody fucking gives a shit about you and your aspie tantrum over somebody saying "For at least 5 years" versus "For forever!"

Go fuck yourself. You're just as much of a confirmation biasing dipshit as everybody else.

>in 5-10 years, people are going to say the same thing about baneposting or carl the cuck

Cuck meme's always been cancer.
>>
>>566843
So was advice dog or even rickrolling, according to some. I'm not surprised /qa/ doesn't like the cuck meme. It got into the mainstream.
>>
>>566876
Not really mainstream per-se, cuck's cancer, because it's associated with the obnoxious anti-feminist movement and GG social activism that /v/ and /pol/ tend to crossboard about everywhere. It's also extremely obnoxious buzzword that people just like to spout just to stir up others, similar to likes of pham, to be honest and shake my head.

It doesn't belong here and it's shitting up the site.

But frankly, maybe it might've been okay in its inception on /tv/, I haven't really experienced it, so I cannot tell, but now I realize that my innitial judgement might've been slightly too harsh.
>>
>>566880
Again, I'm not surprised /qa/ doesn't like this meme. Meanwhile, it's even being used or mentioned by political figures and pundits.
>>
>>566887
Well, they usually have to refer to the lowest common denominator to appeal to public, so that'd be kind of a testament how bad it actually is.

Though the attemps at some people to embrace that insult were kind of funny. "If not being racist is being a cuck, then I am a cuck"
>>
>>566890
>lowest common denominator

http://www.vox.com/2016/4/21/11451378/smug-american-liberalism

The majority of /pol/acks are in college, a liberal breeding ground of liberal arts majors. It's just a reaction to it.
>>
>>566898
That's what I always said, the amount of obnoxiousness they do show off is merely mirroring of how much they perceive the obnoxiousness of their opposition. It's quite naturalistic process, but it doesn't make them less annoying or less clogging up their site, especially since they seem to exhibit the same kind of moral crusade as what they're opposing.

I myself was a year in local liberal art college, it wasn't nearly as infested with justice as I expected, but it's been really beyond boring for me.

If you don't like it, filter it.
>>
>>566903
>just close your eyes and pretend it doesn't happen
>>
>>566905
That's the best way to deal with things you don't like, as suggested by moot. It won't be wordfiltered again, so you might as well.
>>
>>566907
Agreed, but it'll still happen and these people will then find a way to distort the threads by other means, it's an endless battle against shitposters that cannot be won, but that doesn't mean we should give up and stop trying.
>>
>>566910
>that doesn't mean we should give up and stop trying

You should because you're equally obnoxious to be frank with you. This discussion is inane.
>>
>>564152
I did propose a plan to make two new versions of /b/, but the thread 404ed
http://boards.4chan.org/qa/thread/566141/varyiations-of-b#bottom
basically /vb/ would be /b/ with out the porn and gore. This will get the kids on /v/ and the normies on /b/ on to this board.
And /ob/ would be /b/ with legacy timers, no catchpas, and the removal of rules 4,10,11,13,15
>>
>>566880
>and GG social activism
>actually using gaymergays as a boogeyman
SRS found.
>>
/b/ is just a porn dump now
>>
>>566910
It being literally impossible is a perfect reason to give up on something, Anon.

Besides, what the fuck gives you the right to decide what they say? Are you the internet's therapist? Are they paying you? Why are you the person who decides what everybody should be like? Do you honestly think that even if you had that power, you SHOULD have that power?
>>
>>569299
Just because I realize that we cannot reach utopia doesn't mean that we can't improve things, nor that we shouldn't try to improve things.

I'm just trying to make things how I think they would be best and how I prefer them, that's how this world work. When you are doing/implementing something it means something else that could've been done intead isn't done, it's just basic opportunity cost.
>>
>>569303
But shouldn't you at least realize that "Utopia" is a flawed concept? You're just being them.

There IS another way, Anon. You can just let them have their fun and smugly ignore them like me.
>>
>>569309
Yes, utopia is unreachable place, that's the whole point.

And I ignore most stuff I don't like or just report it like normal people, the thing is that if you allow these people, then more of them will come and think their behaviour is expected and normal, once you let the cancer infest your community and let it run its course, then it'll just take over and you'll just see yourself in endless sea of misery with no redeeming content to justify what you're doing.

>>569311
But their behavior can BE expected and normal without it having anything to do with you. The world is really big and you can create tiny utopias inside of the world, something that IS very possible. Then people can look into your tiny Utopia, just as they look into everybody else's tiny little Utopias, and see how diverse all of these bubbles are. They can see that the larger the bubble, the less likely they are to agree with all of it. They can see that the individuals are all wide ranging and varied and that all opinions and thoughtforms are valid in their own unique way, because human beings are diverse wonderful creatures all unique in some way, like individual grains of sand that together form a desert.

By focusing on your little life and not worrying about other people's life, you show them the true way to coexist in the nicest way possible.
>>
>>569315
I am not as autistic as you might think I am. I am aware that other people like stuff that differ from mine, that doesn't mean I want to see them, nor that I should be okay with seeing them.

Just because people like some dirt play and golden showers, traps or emoticons doesn't mean I should like it or stomach it on this site or boards that weren't specifically made for, nor related to them. The amount of cuck and racebaiting, crossboarding, crossdressing and social activism is obnoxious.
>>
>>569320
So? What does it being obnoxious have anything to do with you?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_forums

Why aren't you on all of these, policing everything they say? What's special about whatever board you're complaining about?

You're already just picking a tiny little microcosm of the Internet. I'm advocating you pick a tinier one because it'll make you happier and less obnoxious.
>>
>>569325
It is obnoxious to me, I don't like it, I'd prefer not to be exposed to it. Is that really hard to figure out?

I don't police these forums, because I don't visit them, nor do I like them.

Maybe if could find more niche site I could migrate to I could, but I am not aware of one and where am I seems currently the best possible option I have.
>>
>>569351
Well I feel a smug superiority to you and your fear of the outside world, I guess. Good luck getting /pol/ to stop saying cuck so much.
