when are mods going to do something about the constant undertale threads?
>>
They have been doing something, speaking from personal experience. I think they delete legitimate ones but leave the more controversial ones up on purpose to try and make people hate Undertale more.

I think an Undertale board would be nice.
>>
Also I just went to /v/ right now and there's not even a single Undertale thread in the catalog so go fuck yourself.
>>
>>443312
>I think they delete legitimate ones but leave the more controversial ones up on purpose to try and make people hate Undertale more.
that's really dumb, I wish they'd just delete them all, undertale wasn't anything special and I honestly don't get the hype.
>I think an Undertale board would be nice.
it would serve as containment of the highest degree and would create a brony equivalent for undertale, I think mods should just do something about generals in general on /v/ or just delete /vg/ and ban generals sitewide.
generals are fucking cancer and keep things alive well past their expiration date, see /ksg/ /utg/ /mgg/(still waiting for ch3 and sucking kojimbos wang) /sug/ and anything on /trash/
>>
What's the difference between generals and recurring threads? They both contain the same stale discussion. They both take up space.
>>
>>443408
generals encourage making recurring threads, I agree though.
>>
>>443278
Why the fuck would they do anything about that? Does relevant discussion for games that don't interest you bother you that much, you autist? If so, learn to filter out threads you don't want to see, it's not difficult, idiot.
>>

if that's what undertale threads consisted of they wouldn't bother me one bit, pic related is your average undermeme thread, it's up right now and is 90% fanart dumps and shitposting.

I don't employ tumblr tier tactics just so I don't have to see the cancer festering right under my nose.
>>443561
I'm certain people do this, seen them admit to it myself. this is not what I'm doing, I'm just sick of the incessant threads, /vg/ exists for a reason but most underfaggots think they're "above the general"
>>
>>443278
The better question is when are you going to notice that they are doing something about it and calm the fuck down?
>>
>>444726
Mods deleted that thread you're complaining about. Also, what exactly is wrong with fanart dumps? This is an image board.

good, I'm glad they've started dealing with that shit.
>Also, what exactly is wrong with fanart dumps?
nothing inherently, most of the undertale fan art comes from tumblr though, so I personally don't like it.
if people were actually discussing the game, and not just using the game as an excuse to post fanart and circlejerk just as hard as your average general does right on the front page of vee there would be no problems.

They're buttercups. And because Frisk didn't eat them. Chara ate buttercups until dying so that Asriel could take their soul and get revenge on humanity.

I wish the average Undertale fan wasn't so bad at understanding the story. It's not difficult.
>>
>>444979
Good thing you potsted that image because mgs and kojima cocksucker circlejerks have been spammed way longer and intense than undertale.
Fucking every little gaben had to create a new thread for every fucking little thought he had about ho seaty snakes pits are. Yet none of you babies complained or even replied to those threads.
>>
>>445076
That's because people have disgusting double standards when it comes to indie games. To them it's totally okay to like talking about some big-name game like MGS but nobody wants to believe an indie dev can actually do better.
>>
>>445078
>an indie dev can actually do better.
Undertale isn't a 1MA game.
>>
>>445118
...Are you serious? Because it actually is.
>>
>>445122
It isn't. Commissioned textures, design and code snippets. External help ≠ 1MA, just main lead.
>>
>>445208
Where exactly are you going with this?
>>
>>445215
You said a person did better and I told you it wasn't.
You just had to look at the credits. Did you play the game?
>>
>>445219
Yes. The credits besides Toby Fox were just a bunch of stuff like "This one random monster, designed by Temmie Chang". It's disingenuous to try and paint the game as not being Toby Fox's work just because of some minor things like that. The man did more on his own than a big team did in years.
>>
>>444973
This image gave me an idea and earlier I created a successful bait thread similar to the middle thread. It's already archived. So, there you go.
>>
>>445227
No. He got some textures and other work made for him. It's in the credits.
Besides you guys need to stop your crossboard UT posting. We don't need a thread for this game on each board. It fits in the general. Over.
>>
It's already died down significantly from how it was a few months ago and will likely continue to do so, even if it stays at its current level it's hardly anything to care about. Right now there's one thread about it on /v/, two if you count a cosplay thread that has it in the OP.

If you see threads elsewhere that don't fit the board then just report like you would for any game.
>>
>>445076
really? because it's not like MGS is a large franchise with one of the most intolerable fanbases in existence, and for whatever reason they're able to keep most of their bullshit in the general.
>>445078
>nobody wants to believe an indie dev can do better
it has nothing to do with indie vs big name, it has everything to do with circlejerking faggots attempting to maintain a constant presence on a board using the same stale bait over and over again much like mlp and stevin universe fans.
>>445290
>If you see threads elsewhere that don't fit the board then just report like you would for any game.
that's what I do, and what I encourage others to do.
this is what
>>
MGS V, Smash 4, and Bloodborne still have regular threads. Those all came out before Undertale, so you need to ban all of those before you ban Undertale.
>>
>>445691
I am all for banning generals, but those threads typically contain discussion of the game.
memeshit threads are entirely circlejerking and shitposting. there wasn't much to talk about in the first place, and people have been using it to b8 since mid october.
MGSV barely has threads, and even so the game receives regular updates(as do bloodborne and sm4sh).

>>443402 /mlp/ is what pone discussion until /trash/ came along. People want /utg/ and /sug/ dead because a good portion of the fanbase comes from tumblr. Pone disscussion got its own board because of how quickly it got out of control, things like /ksg/ /utg/ /FN@F/ /sug/ do not deserve to get their own board, it was only when they protruded discussion on every board, I don't see Undertale or Steven universe beyond where they are supposed to go, you are right that /sug/ gets put into the /trash/ board when there is no episodes airing, but thats because /sug/ only gets bad on /co/ and we know how bad it gets on /co/ and their visceral reaction to them. /trash/ was made because /b/ was having a furry problem and the only thing that people were posting only porn. They'd stop eventually after enough bans. The key is to be tough with moderation on these new boards. Only problem is, there is not enough moderation staff for the number of boards that are being added lately. I have no interest in becoming a mod personally but this site needs to add more mods.

this is very similar to how the undertale threads on /v/ are, I really don't want to see /v/ get /co/mblrized, and from what I've seen that's exactly what the undertale threads are doing.

>>
>>449975
this would honestly be ideal.
>>
>>449969
You're right about the Rule 6 Undertale threads, we would actually talk about the game rather than artwork or fan AUs. Which believe me it gets annoying on /vg/ when we talk about the game, but the game discussion gets old because there isn't much after it. Thats my only complaint about /vg/
>>
>>450092
>fan AUs
what does this mean?going to assume you're referring to the fanart dumps.
/vg/ has a long history of keeping things alive well past their expiration date, generals as a whole do.
that being said generals also serve a purpose(containment of cancerous circlejerks), and I feel that undertale discussion should be kept to the general. it's really the same effect /sug/ has on /co/.
>>
>>450203
Fan AUs Fan alternate universe for TJ henry Yoshi, is where people create a alternate reality where So and so happens, and there is a ton of fan art yes.
My problem with /vg/ is when a game is not constantly updated, it gets worse, and just ends up into fan art dumps and /r/ everywhere.
>>

nothing inherently, but maintaining constant threads that consist entirely of fanart and poorly constructed bait are not the intended purpose of imageboards and should not be encouraged behavior
>>
>>450914

>>
>>450915
maybe I misspoke, I don't know what the intended purpose of imageboards is, but they sure as fuck aren't for continuous circlejerking.
>>450917
I'm suggesting that something similar happens to the undertale threads on /v/, preferably just having mods enforce rule 6 to put a dent in the constant stream of threads.
>>
>>450918
I know circlejerking is a word with a negative connotation, but what does it really mean to be in a circlejerk. Everybody getting along and liking each other and themselves? It's called a circlejerk when you're outside of it.
>>
>>450919
when I say circlejerk I mean a group of retarded outsiders and trolls making the exact same threads over and over again that usually contain the same content.
"Generals" "circlejerk" "spammers"
all the same shit.
>It's called a circlejerk when you're outside of it.
why would I want to participate in something so overtly cancerous?
>>
>>450926
>why would I want to participate in something so overtly cancerous?
It wouldn't be overtly cancerous to you if you liked it. "Cancer" is another term that only applies to things you assign a personal quality judgment to.

Circlejerk: Noun - People I don't like, getting along without me.
--Synonyms: Functioning Community, Family, Group of Friends, Clique, Bullies

Cancer: A spreadable idea that I don't like.
--Synonyms: Forced Meme, Political Ideology, Religion, Catchy Song

...Actually nevermind. I don't know why I'm defending something I don't even participate in. Fuck it. Burn 'em down.
>>
>>450931
>It wouldn't be overtly cancerous to you if you liked it
yes it would be, there's no excuse for any group to maintain constant threads, not bronies, undertalefags, kojimadrones, consolewar threads, or fans of my favorite game.
the content may be more palatable, even enjoyable to me but that doesn't make the threads any less pestilent.
learn to differentiate "I DONT LIKE THIS GAME THEY R FAGS BAN IT" from "same thread every day for half a year, pls do something"
