Here's my guess: Most people who got into MLP haven't actually watched many kid's shows, so the idea that one could actually be good was basically mindblowing to them. They think they've stumbled across something unique and want to be part of "the enlightened group" who realizes it, when really there are a lot of children's cartoons that are still great when you're an adult. People are just scared of being perceived as immature so they never realize it.

For the 100th anniversary episode, the show went with a special episode.
It was called "Slice of life", and was loosely about the marriage of two background characters. However, the instead of following the main characters around like we normally do, they have to go fight some monster of the week in the background while the rest of the episode is about various background characters getting ready and having their own little storylines. It's pretty much 20 minutes of dumb gags, jokes and references. Some fandom shoutouts too.
It was alright.
It has gag stuff like a lot of characters jumping over a plush shark, as well as a frame that's just some of the animation crew in horse masks.
If you genuinely and seriously HATE MLP or any cartoon (or really any kind of media) I assume that you're autistic. Like, a normal person doesn't do anything but change the channel, go to another thread, or maybe create a thread about what they do enjoy.

MLP: FiM is a very typical cartoon with the same stock cartoon scripts and stock characters as everything else that's animated. It aims higher than the previous MLP series but lower than contemporary cartoons. In a vacuum, having a MLP board would make as much sense as having a Teen Titans Go board.
But MLP isn't about the cartoon, it's about gender politics. Standing up to the patriarchy and its rigid gender role by admitting to liking My Little fucking Pony. That is, when it's not about the porn. MLP fans are social justice warriors when they're not furries, and until /mlp/'s creation, 4chan has never once tolerated SJWs or furries.
