If /tv/ and /co/ can have particularly shitty / often off-topic generals moderated via deletion or moving to trash, and /v/'s generals were permanently contained off the board, then there is no justification/rationale at all why the same standards can't apply to /a/. At the very least, please start with Naruto.

For you newfags oblivious of history it was banworthy outright to post it for years on /a/, because Naruto fans absolutely are the bronies of anime fandom. There is no analogy more apt than that. However, when the series "ended" moot relented, letting them have their shitstorm about it on /a/, probably figuring it would be over in a few weeks and we'd never hear about it afterwards.

At the time, the board response was "what the fuck, moot is a faggot, but if this lets them get it out of their system and that's it, whatever, only if this will shut them up". So basically the board mostly hated moot for doing that but also thought there might be some logic to it with the means of ending Naruto on /a/ sooner than later.

Well a.) It didn't actually end with that conclusion that made moot lift the floodgate and b.) moot left his position not long after doing that so he no longer is around to make the call on reinstating moderation action on those threads, and naturally Hiro wouldn't know what to do so this question has sat stagnant like a stale fart for a year+. Not only are there threads for it but sometimes multiple ones and with absurdly low quality content.

However, now that we have /trash/ as a good compromise and it actually is being used for certain series, just let Naruto have free rein there so it stops degrading /a/ with its presence. Naruto is a series mostly followed by children and teens, and 4chan is an 18+ website.
>>
You have my support. joot was a faggot for allowing Nurutu on /a/.
>>
>>516969
Naruto is both an anime and a manga.
This is why no one takes /a/utists seriously.
>>
>>517043
It's literally MLP in anime form. OP couldn't have said it better. Why does /co/ gets to have a board free of ponyshit and /a/ has to tolerate Nurutu?
>>
>>517043
Yeah, and Loud House and Steven Universe are cartoons yet their generals are banned. RWBY is also now on /trash/. GoT is banned on /tv/ during its off season and Gravity Falls was too on /co/. MLP is still site-wide ban outside its containment board and /trash/.

Some things can be contained if they bring too much cancer to the site. Because so many different series coexist on singular boards it is fucking necessary to handle the bad ones to prevent them from contaminating the board. The site is already run like this and used to be so marginally on /a/ just for this one series. It really is not much to ask.
>>
>>517050
Wait, I don't go to /co/ but what the fuck did Loud House do? Has that show even started airing? What is it bringing to the site that's such a problem?
>>
Don't even understand the hate for Naruto. Has good art and a competently written story. It's Bleach that's utter bullshit.
>>
>>517055
This isn't the problem with MLP either. It's the fans
>>
>>517048

Therefore it belong on /a/, retard.

>>517050
>Yeah, and Loud House and Steven Universe are cartoons yet their generals are banned
What's your point? /co/ isn't /a/. Also
>their generals are banned
Good. All generals ought be banned.

>/co/ isn't /a/
That's not relevant when the point he's making is that various boards across the site practice series-specific bans/moderation, either in certain forms/time frames or outright, and there is also a global ban on a series site-wide. It's precisely because other boards get this treatment that it is simply illogical to argue that it can't be done on /a/ too, especially when it already was before with a series that has proven to still be cancerous today. As OP said basically it appears the reason it ever was unbanned in the first place was because people thought it was over thus there was no need to clamp down on it so hard. It's like say, when MLP ends, will /mlp/ still need to be kept around forever afterward? The rub is that actually, it didn't end. It's continuing on with Boruto.

So for moot to lift the ban was a mistake, because it turns out the reason wasn't legit. However moot's gone now and can't undo his fuckup, so someone has to point this out because it actually does piss off most of /a/ and is commonly cited as a reason people lose faith it in and the mods. To put it in terms Hiro will notice, Naruto is so cancerous it drives away more traffic than it brings in, especially considering the old guard always knew /a/ as a Naruto-free zone.

Do you not realize what you're dealing with, when you let narutards frolic around? If you knew, you'd probably agree with OP. They're actually pretty much the embodiment of why a lot of people hate weeaboos. /a/ used to have threads devoted to making fun of narutards as pure cringe material.
>>
>>517096
How fucking insane are you? Naruto's popularity was like a decade ago. People have fucking moved on. The only people who care about it at this point are the average /a/sshole. Nothing any different from what we've been letting exist on the site for years and not complaining about.
>>
>>517153
>people moved on
Judging from the constant Naruto threads on /a/, no, they fucking haven't. Of course you wouldn't fucking know that if you don't use the place. Boruto anime is starting up soon and it'll quickly get much worse than a couple of threads a day. It would be wise to move it to /trash/ before it gets out of hand again.

Furthermore for peoples' education, I have a cap of all of /a/'s activity from before .moe went down (currently this time period is a blank space on active /a/ archives), and made some notes on it from the time the ban was lifted. That mention of traffic is absolutely fucking true.

I mapped out the day moot did that stupid n/a/ruto thing and found that in fact, that was the exact moment of the downfall of /a/'s traffic. 2013 /a/ was only slightly smaller then than /v/'s current size today. Within a month of n/a/ruto, /a/ dipped close to fucking 40%, and never recovered.

That spike that looks like recovery is in fact the start and ending of Kill la Kill, which was the most hype anime since probably Code Geass and brought in a fuckton of /v/ which gave a temporary boost. It basically saved /a/ too in distracting us from the utter backstab moot just did. But, after that, the board never recovered and today is still at around the level it dipped to right before KLK started.

I'm not saying re-banning Naruto will make /a/ surge instantly, but, it's a running head start to regain the trust of the users and can't hurt at all, because lifting that ban demonstrably did more harm than good.

Check this out, n/a/ruto literally killed much of /a/. "regular /a/ faggots" my ass. More like a handful of '14 or '15 newfags who are oblivious to the fact they used to be banned on-sight. Old /a/ was unanimously anti-Naruto and so were the mods.

Please explain why anime shouldn't be discussed on /a/

>Moepedoshitfags can refrain from posting in this thread

Sounds a lot like your typical 4channer. I'm all for banning those fucks, but not because of Naruto.

In fact, I see no evidence that this person was banned because of Naruto itself. I see evidence that he was banned because he was trying to annoy people. i.e. shitposting

Do you really need "evidence" of what was a years-running 4chan policy? If you weren't here and won't take my word for it (been here a decade faggot), and don't accept actual screenshots of it in action, what would it take?

Also when /q/ existed like half of that board was faggots trying to get the Naruto ban lifted. That actually was probably what made mood did it actually. I think for some time after that naruto "threads" on /a/ were mostly people just spamming them to death with dubs, but when the Naruto manga ended suddenly /a/ was forced to accept actual Naruto discussion outright this was shortly before moot stepped down, and like the initial ban lift also seemed to have impacted traffic. I can make a figure for that too if you don't believe me. Naruto is literally the cancer killing /a/. People don't want to be here knowing those fucking faggots are around.

4chan mods back in 2006 were memer mods that would ban you for anything as a joke. Nothing that happened back then means anything because it was before the site had any moderation. I know because I also was there back then and got away with so much shit that would constantly get me banned if I tried it now. I would just completely ignore the board's topic and post some stupid shit. That's what 4chan was like. Of course they banned Naruto back then because the people posting it were literal children. That has nothing to do with these more recent Naruto threads. What happened in those two images was this:
1) Moot banned a shitposter for shitposting.
2) Moot stated that he is continuing to ban shitposters for shitposting.

The fact that it's Naruto is correlation, not causation.
>>
>>517244
Shut the fuck up, retard.
>>
>>517245
If you were there you definitely fucking weren't an /a/ user back then. Naruto threads were either spammed to death or deleted constantly, daily, for years and years. I remember sometimes I spotted a new thread on the front page and it 404'd by the time I clicked on it intending to tell OP to fuck off. It didn't say "no Naruto" in the rules, but the entire fucking board and mod team was in unison of stamping it out whenever it showed up. That's just fact.

The other thing was sort of like how shitposters had sockpuppetted MLP pre-ban using it to piss people off on /b/ and /v/, people knew all you had to do to get /a/ mad was try to force Naruto discussion because neither users nor mods liked it there. The more they forced it the faster it started to get bans.
>>
>>517249
Because old 4chan was a warzone. None of what you said contradicts anything I said.
>>
>>517252
You said Naruto and 404'ing was correlation, not causation. That's a falsehood. It didn't matter what you said, you didn't have to say anything, you could have started a blank thread with a picture of Naruto in the OP and you could be semi-sure it'd get deleted soon just on principle. That's a series ban.

You don't deny the ban was lifted and moot forced it on the board, do you? It was a demonstrated change with a Naruto picture (with Samuel Jackson shooped on it, probably because moot was too ashamed to use an actual Naruto picture) and looping music. Why do you think that is counted as a change? Because it was understood that it was banned before that. I feel like I'm talking to a two year old. Or someone who just wasn't fucking here for any of this, which is more likely.
>>
>>517261
>semi-sure

All that needs to be quoted. This says it all.
>>
>>516969
This. Narutards are pure cancer on /a/.

They have been known to copy&paste old posts word for word and spam them on /a/ and pretend their thread is active despite having the exact same pictures and posts as the last thread they made.

If you use the global search archive, you can see Narutards on /a/ are crossboarding cancer as well.

Some of them even come from >>>/pol/ and if you ever check the /pol/ archive, you can find archived Naruto threads on >>>/pol/ with the exact same Narutard posters that shitpost on /a/.
>>
>>517293
Hey, mods were asleep sometimes. These were the days gorespam and worse could sometimes be up for hours, on any board. Naruto threads were on about the same priority as those for deletion on /a/.

I recall when I was new to 4chan, there were very rarely Naruto threads, which might have been civil for a minute but mostly they'd just get told to fuck off and made fun of / memed on hard. Which they usually did actually; they didn't force themselves onto a place clearly unwelcoming and if they tried to force threads, they'd get deleted or banned. Then in what was it, 2009, /a/ was literally flooded with fucking Garuto threads for a time trying to force it all over the board, and that was when we super-duper officially turned entirely against it - if mods didn't kill the threads, which they often did like usual, then /a/ now would do it themselves with spam. This held up until moot's fuckery.

/co/ and /tv/ have had several series banned outright or in off-seasons, or exiled to /trash/, why? Their fucking awful fanbases. Yet somehow /a/ is spoiled for asking the same treatment for an MLP-tier fandom which was forced onto it before /trash/ existed as a compromise? Nah.

/trash/ has immensely useful potential and it looks like mods are starting to realize it; it can fix several problems site-wide. If it can get hated shit fandoms from /co/ (Steven Universe, RWBY), it can get Naruto. I don't know if they are even remotely aware how much it would benefit /a/ to heal the dagger wound moot left in its back.
>>
Naruto isn't any shittier then the other pooular topics of discussion.

Hating Naruto is a meme at this point, you have to be a teenager to not see that.
>>
>>517233
>Do you really need "evidence" of what was a years-running 4chan policy?
Time have changed, gramps.

I have seen naruto being discussed in the past few months in /a/ perfectly fine. There wasn't any autism you mentioned, in fact there actually was LESS autism than in the usual board. You rarely image dumps of people's "waifu" or "i want to do illegal things to sakura..."
>>
Why don't we just ban every popular anime from /a/? I'm sure moefags and hipsters want their safe space untouched.
>>
Just put Naruto in /mlp/.
>>
>>517096

No. The people giving weebs a bad name are the moeshitters who keep spamming smug anime girls all over 4chan.

>tomoko is cute, CUTE
>yui a cute!
>UMARU KAWAII UMUUU
>chaika on the frontpage
Those type of threads are giving you a bad rep. Naruto and DBZ can only improve your reputation.
>>
Naruto isn't even the most cancerous fandom nowadays. DBZ and other shonenshit are worse, compared to them Naruto fans are quite civil. I'd say Naruto haters like OP make worse quality posts.
>>
>>517705
This. DBZ having a new show brought back all those "heh I'm so cool" Toonami manchildren from /co/ and /v/.
>>
>>517361
It's just a meme from some bored younger anons at this point.
They know that /a/ didn't tolerate Naruto for some reasons, so to fit in, they'll pretend to dislike on Naruto and blame whatever grievances they have with /a/ on it. Then they'll samefag and make a new thread complaining about reaction pictures of smirking anime girls ruining the rest of 4chan.

Boredom is the main motivator for these kinds of shitpost threads.
>>

Narutards:
>despite what /a/ feared, the board is not filled up with dozens of Naruto threads
>one or two, rarely three threads at once
>don't like the threads? just hide them and move on

Anti-Narutards:
>false-flag threads constantly clogging up the catalog
>clogging up Naruto threads with dubs and pasta
>thus distracting the mods and jans from the rest of the crap going on in the board
>all in an impotent attempt to stop Naruto from being discussed (keyword there is impotent)

Be honest. Tell me which of the two groups is worse.

Personally, I'd like both of them to go away for the sake of peace. But barring that, I know which one should leave /a/ forever.
