I think there's actually a very simple option that 4chan could implement which would actually solve all of 4chan's name/tripfag problems over night.
If enabled it would change their name to something generic, but not Anonymous, with a sub-option of hiding the post down to a stub.
Anyone can make a filter like that, but the key to solving all the problems isn't the filter itself but the fact that it would be built right into the site and enabled by a simple checkbox in the settings.
That way everyone knows its there, and everyone will know some people are using something like that. It has a powerful psychological effect.

Which is fine if that's what you want, but then what's the point of the filter? If you're ok with that, then you should be ok just leaving the anonymizer off.
Again, remember I said the idea I posted is more about the psychological effect of everyone knowing that there may be people on the site that are just flat out not seeing posts made by name or tripfags at all. Having an official setting for that will create that effect regardless of whether anyone uses it or not.
