Apparently this webm is now NSFW for family-oriented 4chan and

Apparently this webm is now NSFW for family-oriented 4chan and will get you banned for three days.

I wonder if some of these mods of ours ever stumble into /a/. Seems like two SFW boards have two completely different definitions of SFW, with some having near-tyrannical crackdown on anything resembling the female body.

We have /e/ for a reason.
>>
All I ever see from some people is:
>I NEED to post sexual things! I'll die if I don't post something that will get people up!
It's only put in the show to make you hard, and /a/ is one of the worst examples of a board following a very simple rule.

Honestly, if you're posting sexual things outside of an appropriate board, then you have nothing of worth to say.
>>
>>507349
And yet /e/ expressly forbids discussion.
>>
>>507349
/e/ is NSFW. Mods are tyrannical about this. The slightest hint of the female body and here comes the ban hammer. /a/ is blue and the original 4chan board and they don't make a big fuss about it. Hell you can even post nipples so long as it's content revelant and you spoiler tag and you can get away with it. And that's the way it should be since making boards SFW didn't mean an absolute ban on the slightest hin of breast or ass. It was mostly there to avoid porn dumps and such. Idiot mods.
>>
>>507351
Read it again: http://www.4chan.org/rules#e
>All images and discussion
"talk" about it all you want.
>>
>>507351
>All images and discussion should pertain to ecchi artwork. Only suggestive artwork or softcore female nudity of Japanese/"Eastern" origin and style is permitted. Hardcore, alternative, yuri, and yaoi content belong on their respective boards.
>Ecchi material is suggestive and often times cute, however, it should not be mistaken for the cute board.

I don't see any rules about that.

>The slightest hint of the female body and here comes the ban hammer.
It's almost like there is a board that was made just for that.

Really, you're no different than anyone making a recommendation thread while /wsr/ is for that.
>>
>>507362
>And so is that webm
No it's not. The criteria for NSFW is visible genitals or nipples or explicit sexual content. Teasing is not NSFW. The nips are strict about their ratings. They do a better job of making sure it's not in there than you ever will.

And no, just because /e/ exists doesn't mean that every image with teasing needs to go to /e/. That's absurd and you know damn well isn't practical.
>>
>>507358
Just being a healthy reminder of what exactly people are defending.
>>
Remember when browsing 4chan in public was frowned upon by the community? What happened with that? Why is 4chan a family and work-safe board now? If you are browsing 4chan visibly in front of other people, fucking kill yourself.

>>
>>507375
But you're still dodging and have failed to provide the argument to why the webm in OP is NSFW. As already stated by what we consider NSFW, that webm cannot be regarded NSFW.
>>
>>507365
>The nips are strict about their ratings.
i thought anything goes other than explicit sex
>>
>>507382
Nipples, vaginas and penises and assholes are forbidden aswell.
>>
>>507379
Ok, what do you think is NSFW.
Does what you define as NSFW include ecchi?
If yes, then that webm is NSFW.
If no, why is /e/, the board made just for ecchi and forbids hentai and all other forms of porn, NSFW?
>>
>>507385
Ecchi forbids penetration. It's basically softcore porn. Probably milder than that. But it's still NSFW since vaginas, nipples and whatnot can be shown. Webm in OP doesn't do that.
>>

>it isn't sexual!
>>
>>507387
I don't think your personal definition of what is NSFW is correct.
That is the flaw in your argument and still does not address the point of it belonging on /e/.
>>
>>507388
Alright so then Playboy is NSFW aswell. And we should head over to /a/ and tell them that what they post most of the time is actually against the rules of this arbitrary definition that can classify anything as porn with the right puritan eyes.
>>
>>507392
It is most definitely not NSFW. It has the rating that classifies it as non-NSFW. It's actually pretty set in stone how these ratings work.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/02/04/media/playboy-first-non-nude-issue/

Playboy isn't NSFW anymore since it doesn't feature explicit nudity anymore.
>>
>>507406
It's still legally pornography.
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/pornography
Pornography (obviously sexual themes) is NSFW. Bring your argument to a McDonald's job application and see how far you go.
>>
>>507428
The series is rated 16 and up. Since when could minors watch porn? It cannot be porn by the simple fact that porn has an 18+ (same as this site funny enough) barrier to it. And that "legal definition" can literally put anything as pornography as its definition is way too broad and vague to be practical on 4chan.

>Pornography is the depiction of sexual behavior that is intended to arouse sexual excitement in its audience.

Under this definition, billboard ads, music videos and blockbuster videos aimed to kids and teenagers all become porn.
>>
>>507441
>Under this definition, billboard ads, music videos and blockbuster videos aimed to kids and teenagers all become porn.
Yep. In many cases ads utilize sexual arousal. Advertisement is about enticing the viewer. Don't know what to do in your movie/show to keep a viewer interested? Add sex! What better way of getting someone interested and hooked than appealing to a very basic and generally poorly controlled human desire?
>>
>>507459

D
>>
>>507469
Not him, but I would say that sexual content does not always equal porn.

That being said, I would also argue that nudity always equal NSFW, but NSFW doesn't always equal nudity.
>>
>>507324
What board are you referring to? Different boards (and even individual mods) obviously have different standards, and while such webms are of relevance to /a/, many SFW boards have no need for anything approaching lewd
>>
>>507479
Nudity would mean vagina or nipples exposed. You see none of that here. If we are to consider any bare skin as nudity, then we'll be in puritan territory by night's end.
>>
>>507483
Nudity is defined as having no clothes on. In that image, the vagina and nipples are exposed, just not shown. It is nudity but not explicit
>>
>>507483
I fail to see how that relates to what I said.
>>
Boards do have different definitions though. /a/ allows anything from official non h anime or manga regardless of what's showing because otherwise it would be retarded. Other boards don't have that informal rule.
>>
Is porn still porn when it's censored or cropped?
Yes.
>>
>>507492
/mu/ allows posting album art even if it contains tits or gore
>>
>>507493
Webm in OP isn't cropped or censored, unless you consider any sexually suggestive scene as just "censored porn". That's absurd.
>>
You guys should all get law degrees
>>
>>507495
Some things cross the line, some do not. Intentionally or not, people cross the line all the time. There is a difference between a girl in standing or sitting in a bikini, and a nude girl getting rubbed down (especially when in a show known to have blatant sexual fan service).
>>
>>507502
You still haven't answered to how it's porn besides your own subjective dislike towards fanservice. The show is rated 16. You can not legally sell porn to minors. There is simply no way anything in this show can be regarded as porn when we know the rating it carries is less than the required age for buying porn.
>>
>>507497
4chan is full of super-educated geniuses
>>
>>507505
I won't call it pron, but that doesn't mean that it isn't NSFW.
You act as if porn is the only thing that can be NSFW.
>>
>>507510
How exactly would you define NSFW then?
>>
>>507514
http://www.4chan.org/faq#worksafe
I see it as anything that you wouldn't show your boss at work, or something you could get fired for.
>>
>>507530
That is a reasonably subjective definition though, being very dependent on culture and workplace.
Also, I can't see any reason /a/ could be considered worksafe under that definition
>>
>>507530
I wouldn't show 4chan to my boss to begin with. The concept of a worksafe 4chan strikes me as odd considering the origins of the site. I mean if /a/, the first board and first blue board isn't considered worksafe, then what does that set for example to everything that followed after?
>>
>>507534
>culture and workplace
Average workplace.
Culture?
This is still a US based website.
>>507538
You seem to imply that slight changes for the better are a bad thing.

Imagine for a moment that NSFW content was practically non existent on work safe boards from this point on. Would you have much trouble sitting down with your boss (if they were willing to spend the time of course) to prove that blue boards are now a reasonable place to be while at work? You would randomly choose threads and scroll through them, and nothing questionable would come up. Now of course this isn't a perfect world, and some people will actually fight against such a seemingly simple change, but the concept is sound. The real question is WHY some people are so against having basic organization. I believe a simple fear of change is the culprit.
>>
>>507554
>This is still a US based website.
The US is a big place, I'm sure somewhere like Texas has a difference definition of worksafe than Vermont wooulf
>>
>>507554
>Would you have much trouble sitting down with your boss (if they were willing to spend the time of course) to prove that blue boards are now a reasonable place to be while at work
I think my boss would like me to be actually working rather than browsing the internet, no matter how non-lewd it is
>>
>>507324
Thanks OP, I just had a good fap
>>
>>507562
It's a matter of what catches people's eyes. No one will care if out of the corner of their eye they see some text or a random dog picture on your phone or laptop. But people's lizard brains react to seeing racy content in their periphery.
>>
>>507554
>Culture?
Site was founded on talking about Japanese culture. Japanese culture isn't really something you go and show your coworkers anyways. The very foundation was to please a niche.

The change would be changing from a site that has been very liberal with its content to one that is moderated to almost puritan levels with content deleted based on subjective merits. So yes I would dislike that. Like I said earlier, the simple idea of browsing 4chan at work strikes me as incredibly odd and cringey. I wouldn't show my boss the site to begin with. I consider the whole site NSFW, considering its language, content and heritage.

NSFW has always been a good way to make sure blue boards don't get overrun with porn. So far that has worked out well. It was never meant to be a 24/7 crackdown on the slightest nip slip. And even that is taken further with content that is considered too much fanservice also being NSFW. When does it end? Why must 4chan become this super-accessible site that you can browse with your family and friends when it really wasn't supposed to be that? The problem with your definition of NSFW is that any content can be considered NSFW completely dependant on subjective moderator opinions. Fuck that system. I don't want every image I post to be a dice roll to ban city.
>>
I once got banned for posting that shower scene in the Street Fighter movie on /v/. A fucking shower scene in a kid's movie in an SF thread. Fucking hell. What a baby-like way to moderate content.
>>
>>507572
>I don't want every image I post to be a dice roll to ban city.
>dice roll
If it seems that way to you, then your judgment might just be poor.

Here's an easy way to never get banned for (sexual) NSFW content:
Does it turn you on? Don't post it.
Does it have a good chance of turning someone else on? Don't post it.

NSFW offers nothing of value to a discussion that isn't NSFW to begin with.

Good thing this is 4chan! That sort of thought process has never mattered here. Whether it contributes to the discussion or not is irrelevant and the 'quality' of posts here aren't even determined by how on-topic you are or how good or informative your post is. Most of the time it is determined by how fun, interesting and/or stupid your post is.

Perhaps you're not aware, but with the new thread-moving feature created for /trash/, mods have also periodically moved "under-the-radar"/borderline lewd threads to /e/.
