How is this allowed?
The board is called Alternative Sports and it currently has ~138 wrestling threads and ~10 alternative sport threads.

Why can't the janitor at least keep things even? Do we even have a janitor? At least a 50/50 split would be tolerable.
Plus wrassle-fags keep shitposting in proper alt.sport threads, With Impunity, just to be shitheads.
If they're so populous and make money for Hiro, then why can't they have their own board?
I thought Hiro said he wasn't going to be a money-grubbing shill.

Even /k/ is starting to complain because all the airsoft discussion is being pushed off of /asp/ by /wwe/.

I don't understand how you can derive such pleasure from harrassing others.
The OP pic is how it should be. A clean 50/50 split with each group minding their own business.

Wrestling belongs on /tv/, its not a sport its just a TV show

/asp/ was a board that people could go to and discuss the sports they participated in and ask/give advice, with wrestling there the board is mostly just wrestling shitposting now, even in the non wrestling threads

/TV/ is a fast enough board that the wrestling talk wouldn't make an impact on board culture but its completely destroying /asp/, every /asp/ post gets bumped by shit posts that get 10-30 replies then die
>>
>>489447
That's how it used to be, before WWE.
Now, if we have individual threads for the things in the Generals, they could very well be lost in the ocean of WWE and bumped off the board.

And how is this /wwe/ problem how? It's not our fault your hobby is boring as shit and no one cares to post in it

This desu, I've been browsing /asp/ recently for wrasslin' and it's honestly just a mess. Everything is everywhere, there'll be a guy making a post within a thread to discuss something, but then there'll be someone else who basically has the samething to say but has started a new thread about it. A good portion of the threads get very few replies and it was far better on /sp/ when it was just one general. Moving it to /tv/ would fix that, as it could be a general again and it is really a TV show.
Nothing the wrestling fans are doing is against the rules though, Hiro told them they could have their Diva threads on an alternative SPORTS board when we literally have boards for looking at grillz.
I like Hiro, but I think he sort of made a mess of this. /asp/ has completely changed and it's barely even the same board anymore. No one actually seems to care though but I hope some sort of solution is reached. /tv/ does make sense to me, it'd be more like /sp/ was

And the arguing continues leading nowhere. /wwe/tards acting like kids and /asp/ies answering back and falling for bait.
I seriously don't get what's so special about /wwe/ posters that they just outright refuse to adapt and dismiss any negative opinion against it. The only reason they didn't behave like that in /sp/ is because they were heavily moderated.
Tossing around a general from board to board won't do shit. People will just keep complaining and shitposting. So, either a containment board is created for wrestling (/wooo/ 2.0) or wrestling discussion is banned.
>>
>>489854
The thing is neither parties are breaking the rules. /asp/ doesn't need to "adapt" to anything, because Hiro OK'd their threads and you can't start deleting wrestling threads on a board that has "& wrestling" in its title. Like I said earlier though, actual wrestling discussion is a mess on there and it's just people posting the same shit in different places. I'm not sure a containment board would really work, or even be a good idea considering it's not going to be a booming board, nor is it something that's crying out for it's own board to be made.
It is a shame for original /asp/ies
>>
Something needs to be done though because WWEâ„¢ is a corporation with an army of people who aspire to become writers for the television program, and are directed by WWE in Hartford to Astroturf online as a means of 'developing a resume' so to speak. This is an open practice of theirs, and I'm not saying it is necessarily bad, but I am saying that it is the reason why all web forums end up with WWE only (or wrestling only) forums. The volume of posts/threads generated by these marketers dwarfs any actual discussion because they are not normal fans, they are semiprofessional writers/interns being used by a corporation for the purposes of marketing.

So now because they have noticed that 4chan /asp/ exists , a board that could be used for discovering cool sports you've never heard of before and fostering discussion within communities which DO NOT have a home elsewhere online, are drowned out by astroturfed discussion of a fake television program that has LITERALLY THOUSANDS of other web forums dedicated to its discussion .

For this reason I think something should be done or at least the moderation policy should change. Does 4chan admins want these marketers making threads for free and shitting up the board when they could be buying ads to alert WWE fans who browse 4chan to the location of WWE threads? Which in my opinion --->

I think they should make threads related to RAW/SmackDown/PPVs weekly as they air in >>>/tv/ and they can use those threads to discuss the matches.

I assure you the majority of the posts in /asp/ related to individual wrestlers are most likely being posted by the wrestlers or their agents themselves!! Again, to say nothing of the army of people on WWE marketing's dole.

Those are just my thoughts on the matter. I don't think other sports on /asp/ have such astroturfing muscle behind it as WWE/wrestling so I think by dealing with them you solve the problem. Gee maybe afterward there could be some discussion of, you know, actual wrestling!!

The point is that WWE is a corporation, not an "alternative sport" & 4chan-team is missing out on the revenue this corporation should be spending on advertisements if they want to reach their viewers on this website.

Instead, this corporation has been given for free an entire board. How many game companies would like the same? Instead they are required to make a general in /vg/ and reach their customers there, not post a hundred topics in /v/ itself to drown out anyone else's content.

That's what needs to be addressed about /asp/ ... WWE is not an alternative sport - its a television program.
>>
>>489427
Wrestling was literally only added to /asp/ within the last few months. It is no way, shape, or form a Wrestling board.

>>
>>491074
No, /asp/ was made for non-ball sports like mma and fencing while /wwe/ was mostly contained to a single general in /sp/. Even 420chan was created out of the lack of a suitable drug and WWE boards. /wwe/ only moved to /asp/ after the move was forced by deleting /wwe/ in /sp/ and adding the "& wrestling" to /asp/ despite the fact /asp/ has always accommodated wrestling. The real problem isn't even the traffic, it's that they're discussing WWE, not wrestling. Moot talks about this in his final talk within the 3 hour mark if you want to know more about /asp/.

Wrestling is an alternative sport, pro wrestling is a TV show
>>
>>493230
I meant pro-wrestling, the one that's fake. That's an alternative sport, it's not a traditional, real sport.

It would fit in on /tv/ too, not denying that.
>>
>>493231
It would fit in on /tv/ as much as having anime shows on /tv/ would.
>>
>>493228
They're real sports, but /asp/ is for non-ball sports that moot didn't really have in mind when making /sp/. WWE however is neither wrestling nor a sport, so it really doesn't belong on /asp/.
>>
>>493232
What do you mean, why wouldn't it fit?

They are made for that board, wwe isn't a sport but it is a scripted TV show, they have reality TV show spinoffs, footfags, waifufags, fart fetishists and a high rate of shitposting

Wwe would blend in seamlessly on /tv/, its the only logical place for them
>>

Pro-wrestling is both a non-ball sport and an alternative sport, so it fits in perfectly on "/asp/ - Alternative sports".

>>
>>496150
That isn't the only argument. It's the only one you aren't ignoring. The other arguments about how wrestling is an alternative sport go in one ear and out the other with you.

>>495818
He fixed /asp/ by making sure everybody knows it is also for wrestling. That's a good thing.

>>495816
No, by that logic anime should be on /co/ for being a cartoon and on /tv/ for being a TV show.
>>
>>496176
>The other arguments about how wrestling is an alternative sport go in one ear and out the other with you.

Because there's no substance to them. Let me try to break it down for you:

In a sport, the outcome of the game, race, or other event is not predetermined. Nobody writes a script for gymnastics events or track meets or boxing matches. Someone who tries is considered to be cheating.

In a sport, the point of the sport is the sport itself, not which of the players has the cutest feet.

Watcing WWE is exactly identical to watching Star Wars prequel lightsaber fights. The outcome was written in advance, and the point of all the activity is to advance a plotline and/or develop a character.

WWE is not a sport, you don't participate in it and never will. If WWE is a sport, The Simpsons is a sport, because I'm watching it right now.
>>
>>496176
Everyone always knew it was also for wrestling, there were threads on wrestling and lucha underground fairly regularly but there wasnt a never ending steam of shitposting threads
>>
>>496198

There was always mild whinging about it because as several of us have said, it's not a sport, but we understood why nobody else wanted the rasslin' fans, so we were willing to let them have a couple of generals.

The title thing fucked everything up.

/asp/ at the very least needs moderation on the thread level. If there's a diva thread, THAT is the diva thread. If there's a Roman thread, THAT is the Roman thread. Ditto for Muay Thai or Rollerblading though, to be fair. Start another one, it gets deleted. Do it again, you get a vacation.

If we had enough mods/janitors to do this, we could at least get rassling down from 90% to 50% of the board, and it would be tolerable again.
>>
>>496205

What does that mean? Only a child could fail to see the appeal of watching big fat sweaty men dance around shirtless in front of 10,000 drunken rednecks?

This is the zero-content shitposting we're talking about. I'd rather read Wu whining about how nobody else understands his kung fu.
