This desu, I've been browsing /asp/ recently for wrasslin' and it's honestly just a mess. Everything is everywhere, there'll be a guy making a post within a thread to discuss something, but then there'll be someone else who basically has the samething to say but has started a new thread about it. A good portion of the threads get very few replies and it was far better on /sp/ when it was just one general. Moving it to /tv/ would fix that, as it could be a general again and it is really a TV show.
Nothing the wrestling fans are doing is against the rules though, Hiro told them they could have their Diva threads on an alternative SPORTS board when we literally have boards for looking at grillz.
I like Hiro, but I think he sort of made a mess of this. /asp/ has completely changed and it's barely even the same board anymore. No one actually seems to care though but I hope some sort of solution is reached. /tv/ does make sense to me, it'd be more like /sp/ was

The thing is neither parties are breaking the rules. /asp/ doesn't need to "adapt" to anything, because Hiro OK'd their threads and you can't start deleting wrestling threads on a board that has "& wrestling" in its title. Like I said earlier though, actual wrestling discussion is a mess on there and it's just people posting the same shit in different places. I'm not sure a containment board would really work, or even be a good idea considering it's not going to be a booming board, nor is it something that's crying out for it's own board to be made.

Something needs to be done though because WWE™ is a corporation with an army of people who aspire to become writers for the television program, and are directed by WWE in Hartford to Astroturf online as a means of 'developing a resume' so to speak. This is an open practice of theirs, and I'm not saying it is necessarily bad, but I am saying that it is the reason why all web forums end up with WWE only (or wrestling only) forums. The volume of posts/threads generated by these marketers dwarfs any actual discussion because they are not normal fans, they are semiprofessional writers/interns being used by a corporation for the purposes of marketing.
So now because they have noticed that 4chan /asp/ exists , a board that could be used for discovering cool sports you've never heard of before and fostering discussion within communities which DO NOT have a home elsewhere online, are drowned out by astroturfed discussion of a fake television program that has LITERALLY THOUSANDS of other web forums dedicated to its discussion .
For this reason I think something should be done or at least the moderation policy should change. Does 4chan admins want these marketers making threads for free and shitting up the board when they could be buying ads to alert WWE fans who browse 4chan to the location of WWE threads? No, /asp/ was made for non-ball sports like mma and fencing while /wwe/ was mostly contained to a single general in /sp/. Even 420chan was created out of the lack of a suitable drug and WWE boards. /wwe/ only moved to /asp/ after the move was forced by deleting /wwe/ in /sp/ and adding the "& wrestling" to /asp/ despite the fact /asp/ has always accommodated wrestling. In a sport, the outcome of the game, race, or other event is not predetermined. Nobody writes a script for gymnastics events or track meets or boxing matches. Someone who tries is considered to be cheating.
In a sport, the point of the sport is the sport itself, not which of the players has the cutest feet.
Watcing WWE is exactly identical to watching Star Wars prequel lightsaber fights. The outcome was written in advance, and the point of all the activity is to advance a plotline and/or develop a character.
