How to make /v/ great again?

The problem I have with /v/ at the moment is that games with less interest just get snowed under and killed of by meme posts (what did he mean with this, tracer ass posts, other stuff that generate loads of posts quickly).
Only way for puzzle games, RTS games and such to survive is bundling them. But then you have a few succesful threads and you get forced off to /vg/ where the thread dies since people browsing /v/ dont always browse /vg/. Like the puzzle general just fizzled out.
But OP merging /vg/ with /v/ is retarded. The top threads would just be generals since they have loads of traffic. Then the first few pages would just be generals, with only a few slots open for non-generals.

Merging /vg/ with /v/ is a good thing. Generals are pretty slow and that's because people visit other boards while browsing. Combining traffic of /v/ with quality of /vg/ and the enforced rules is a very good idea.
/v/ at the moment is flooded with consolewars. Threads about games don't have more than 200+ replies unless they're about Dark Souls or The Elder Scrolls.
If flamewars were deleted there would be enough space for both threads about more popular games and stuff like puzzle or RTS games.

What you're suggesting will not bring "quality" discussion from /vg/, it will kill any discussion from /vr/ because the community is too small to go against the combined shitposting forces of 2 of the largest boards on the site, most discussion from /vp/ (but shit generals like RP ABOUT POKEMON and showderp will stay), and most decent generals from /vg/.
You'll end up with /v/ - Dota and League, which is exactly what led to /vg/ being made.
