>it's been worse in the past
Do people actually believe this shit?
>>
I believe that it's a lot better than it has been thanks to 1) some good boards being created and 2) the mods finally banning for reddit boogeyman shitposting, but I wouldn't go so far as to make the claim that it's good.
>>
>>447513
What's so bad about it right now?
>>
>>447550
it's reddit and you'd notice if you weren't a post-2013 cancerous faggot
>>
>>447513
It's more fun and enjoyable to lurk/post on it than previously so I'd say it's doing pretty well right now.

4chan fucking sucks right now with any retard being able to avoid a ban. With the rise of smartphones literally any retard can ban evade instantaneously, FOREVER.

At least in 2010 and before smartphones weren't that big yet. I remember when moot set up that system to detect and ban proxies, they really need to do something about phone posting assholes.
>>
>>447614
Yes, I browse Reddit. Nice detective work. WE DID IT 4CHAN!
>>
I still have fun here. If [s4s] taught me anything it's that meta-complaining about 4chan is a way to get guaranteed replies. So maybe that's all it is, lonely people trying to manipulate other people into giving them attention. I feel you man. It's a lonely world out there.
>>
>>447634

we need to get social media brats out of here, they generally have no clue about anything and shit everything up with low quality content

>reddit boogeyman shitposting
Gb2 Reddit, faggot.
>>
>>447841
I can't believe you bothered to screencap that post as if it's some mindblowing thing, but that's also mine.

Anyway, you don't seem to understand the concept of boogeymen. The whole point is that you're blaming Reddit for everything wrong with the world when it's really just another fucking site on the internet. At any rate, I have no intention of leaving, and the mods have no intention of banning me, so feel free to keep wasting your time accomplishing nothing.
>>
>>447513
4chan is complete shit atm there are chans out there that are much better than 4chan.

Reasons:
Normalfags/chads everywhere
Hiro fucking shit up
Hiro making 404 threads redirect to sites with viruses if you don't have adblock enabled
Retards posting webm threads on /b/ when there are whole boards dedicated to them
>>
>>447846
It's not mindblowing, it just proves that anyone who unironically uses the phrase "reddit boogeyman" is a redditor. It's another evidence that mods are redditors, because they have been customizing bans with the same message, so of course they aren't going to ban you.
By the way, you're really brainwashed. I feel bad for you if you really think reddit is great. Reddit is not a "another site on the internet". It's a splitted circlejerk community full of attwhores and kids where you get censored for having a different opinion. That's why it seems to have "decent discussion", because your comment gets literally hidden and most of times even deleted if you reach a certain amount of downvotes.
Not only they steal every fucking term or internal joke from us and another chans, but they also spread them all over the fucking internet. Even your grandpa knows what "mfw" means nowadays, thanks to them and these cancerous 9gag-tier meme sites. This is why have so many fucking unwanted users here.
If you want to browse that ebaums + gaia + digg 2.0: Electric Boogaloo, that's okay, just get your retarded bluepill ass and fuck off from here.
If mods ban me for "shitposting", when I'm actually discussing with this cancerous faggot, that's another proof that they are redditards.

Responsible for a lot of our shitposting. Well, at least /r/4chan is.
>>
Something about 4chan felt like it suddenly changed in late 2014. The Fappening and GamerGate brought a lot of awful/stupid people in. I want those people out.
>>
4chan hasn't changed at all, even if >>448263 is real, most of those new users doesn't last longer, only a few autistic kids remain, just like we did in our times.
>>
>>448268
I don't know... /v/ at the very least felt some change. 2015 was awful, and 2016 doesn't look like it's going to be much better.

Lately, I almost feel as if I have to force myself to be on 4chan. Everyone says you're here forever, but I'm beginning to believe that the people that say and truly believe it are people that have nothing else to do. They don't feel as if they in particular are being pushed away. They just don't have the realistic drive to leave. Do you ever feel like you're drifting away? I feel like I have been for a few months. As it is, this place just isn't a very good place... Few people seem to care very much about anything that brings real, long-lasting joy.

You like Twilight zone? What's your favourite episode?
I love the one where a man becomes admin of 4chan, and then a gremlin appears. Then the man wakes up next to his wife, but she doesn't recognize him! The episodes ends with a twist.
>>
>>448302
Seriously Hiro? You could be actually trying to fix the site and you do this?

Dude come on already. Fucking fix the mod situation and the rampant shitposting
>>
>>448355
I'm curious what you think the "mod situation" and the "rampant shitposting" is. I don't really see any problems. You can only fix the shitposting by playing whack-a-mole when the shitposts pop up, only with an extra mallet by adding more mods.
>>
>>448302

pfhahahaha
>>
>>448360
Go to /v/, /r9k/, /int/, and even here and you'll see what I mean
>>
>>448302
Couple questions :

1. Did you fix your shitty Internet already?

2. Are you going to start hiring more competent mods and janitors?

3. Are you aware that mods are out of control and don't do their jobs?

4. Are you aware that anti-anime spam is growing out of control?

5. Can you please make an email or something so we can contact you?

6. What are you even talking about in your post?
>>
>>448365
Okay then, I'm sure that the mods will come up with a magic way to make sure that the shitposters can't change their IP or use proxies.

Like I said, you can only play whack-a-mole. And I don't really think removing shitposting from /r9k/ is really possible considering it's a free-for-all.
>>
>>448373
The mods will sometimes delete threads for no reason at all, even though said thread is on topic.

The mods have ruined boards like /d/ by going full on Nazi mode.

The mods have shown they are lazy as shit, and have refused to do their jobs to clean up boards like /asp/ and /vp/

The mods are rumored to be the ones behind the shitposting on /o/.

Swaglord, aka the king of retards is a mod. He has destroyed /tv/ beyond repair.

So yeah the mods are as responsible as the shitposters.
>>
>>448302
Hiro, and his silly shenanigans. Thanks.
I don't want to leave, I just feel as if this place is somewhat empty compared to what it once was- or at least what it seemed like to me at one time in the past.
>>
>>448376
>The mods will sometimes delete threads for no reason at all, even though said thread is on topic.

we need evidences to talk about such things.
Could you keep screenshots next time?
>>
>>448384
Quite often a thread will look good from the OP, but what is actually discussed within the thread is not following the topic of a board very well, so the thread is justly deleted. This confuses many users, but it's better for the good of a board overall. I'm sure moot and the mods have explained this to you before.

>You could be actually trying to fix the site and you do this?
Less than a minute to read a post, less than a minute to type four words, less than a minute to search a video and copy paste a link. I'm seriously starting to believe the userbase is more uptight than the moderation staff.

>I'm seriously starting to believe the userbase is more uptight than the moderation staff.
I know I'm more uptight than most other users.
>>
>>448386
with evidences, we can understand easily.
Some say there are many off-topic posts, other say there isn't.
Without evidence, there is no goal.

Not him, but I saw someone complain here on /qa/ about being banned on /v/ because he wanted games that emulated the feeling of Vaporwave (a "what is the X of video games thread) even when others don't.
>>
>>448389
So using the feedback page while presenting multiple archived threads, with good reasoning alongside it would be wise, yes? If one is deeply concerned, and is able to describe what he sees as a problem, with what he believes to be evidence of said problem, then submitting feedback might be the best course of action?

https://boards.fireden.net/v/thread/327620415/
>>
>>448425
The point is Hiro that we need more off topic shit deleted and keep threads that have to do with good discussions up.

Too many threads though get ruined by shitposting. For example many Fire Emblems threads are hijacked by anti anime shitposters and it just dissolves the thread.

Also you must consider looking at hiring more mods. There is one mod, Swaglord, who is a serious problem on here.
>>
>>448446
Have you ever been to /v/? That's cover. It has always been cover. It's a trick to treat /v/ like "/b/ with video games." And it's so naked that I'm shocked you think it is what it says it is on the cover.

Want to talk about soda on /v/? Here, I can show you the trick:

>Dr. Pepper = PS3
>Mountain Dew = Xbox 360
>Pepsi = Wii
>Prove me wrong, you can't.

Boom, now we can have a 300+ reply thread on /v/ about what soda you like to drink and people who like other sodas are idiots! Wait, I almost forgot:
>Water = PC

Now we can really get to the meat of which is the game console and which is the drink. No errors here.

The mods tamping down on people making threads like this does not anger m in the slightest, it makes me happier and puts hope in my heart for the future. It's okay.

Literally, you can do this on any board with any analogy.
>What is the Mosin Nagant of automobiles?
Guns on /o/
>What is the Oingo Boingo - Weird Science of guns?
music on /k/
>What is the Smoked Meat of cartoons?
Food on /co/

Do you seriously think the majority of posts made in this format want a qualitative comparison of incompatible/alien concepts, in two really narrow spectra?

>What is the smell of taste?
>What is the color of sounds?
>What is the tempurature of the color of the smell of wood?
>What is the personality of math?

This is garbage.

I did. Can you, yourself, read? Let me go back to a point I made:

Let me cut the fat out of that sentence for you:
>>Do you think the majority of posts made in this format want a comparison of concepts?

Wait, that's still a little heady:
>>>the majority of posts made
There's the important part.

That OP was upset that his real-thread MADE IN THE STYLE OF A SHITPOST, was deleted by a moderator. You're upset that it happened, too. I am not.

This is a "what was she wearing" case, in a rape case. The OP made a thread in the style of a shitpost, and he was treated as a shitposter. It is incidental that his post was legitimate, because it looked like a shitpost. By the numbers it was garbage.

Shouting fire in a crowded theater? Pointing a gun at the president... but your finger wasn't on the trigger and there weren't even any bullets inside of it? Yeah, nothing criminal here.
>>
I believed it until I went on /b/ a minute ago and saw people laughing at dead kids. 4chan is always the same.

It's kinda like saying the 1950's were the best or x people from the y period ever. In some way maybe if you lived i but taking nostalgia glasses off and really taking a deep look critically and looking at all sides instead of "only looking at book because of it's cover" tends to dispel that.
