My last attempt at making a /wpop/ for legitmate music discussion (see the deleted thread https://rbt.asia/mu/thread/61288416) didn't last more than 1 minute.
Anyone /mu/tants here want to chime in? Should /wpop/ threads become a thing? It's worked very well to contain /kpop/...I'm tired of seeing 3 lavern, grimes, st vincent and skye threads per day.
Here's a poll

I support this
/mu/ is one of the few boards where the generals actually work
Totally in support of this
reposting from the /mu/ thread:
terrible idea. kpop works because literally the only thing they do is waifu post. with sky lauren and grimes it's mostly waifu posting, but then people will say that marina, st vincent and others where people actually try to discuss their music are "waifu posting" and to "fuck off to wpop"

this is true. people never actually talk about kpop music inside or outside of the generals, but grimes's/chvrches'/marina's music actually does get discussed to some extent (esp. grimes).
ideally we could have a limit to one thread per waifu (since /popfu/ general wouldn't work, as the lavren/grimes/etc camps don't want to see each other's shit generally) but idk if that's even doable

this is valid though. /metal/, /bleep/, and of course /emoe/ all are really useful and productive
I think this would be a fantastic idea
There's more of a kpop culture than there is a wpop culture.
