In order to help Hiro address issues easily, here is a list of the current major board issues, according to /qa/:

>/tv/
>A lack of consistent moderation
>topic favoritism beyond the stated board rules, including allowing porn and meme threads to go unchecked while banning any mention of actresses

>/v/
>a lack of consistent moderation
>disagreement over what is and isn't board related, resulting in calls for a board split. The current suggestions are for a /vc/- /v/ Culture and /vi/ - Videogame Industry board.

>/d/, /aco/
>The creation of /aco/ had negative effects on /d/'s community and board culture, slowing the board to a crawl and leaving many topics untouchable by either board
>Futa has overtaken /d/ completely, taking up half or more of the threads. Additionally, other threads, even those that specifically request "no futa," will still be flooded by futa on both boards.

/co/
>the increased popularity of superheroes in recent years has created a glut of superhero threads on /co/. The creation of a separate thread that allows live-action, animated, and comic book superhero content has been requested.

>/pol/
>the addition of flags to the board was a punitive measure by moot applied for personal reasons, and negatively affects communication on the board by introducing regional tribalism.

>/asp/
>After being moved to /asp/, wrestling has overtaken the entire board

>Global
>the feedback form receives few public solutions to issues that are not software related, even though it supposedly applies to board issues as well. Issues of board content are often dealt with directly through hostile posts and spam, resulting in this slow, indirect method of feedback seeing no use. It provides users with little satisfaction or confirmation of its usefulness.
>Many feel the moderation teams have become too comfortable in their positions and feel possessive towards the boards they frequently moderate, removing control of the community from the users.
>>
>forgetting /g/ - Gaming PCs and Consumerism
>>
If Hiro listens to what people on /qa/ have to say then the site is only going to get worse.
>>
>>394325
Explain how addressing any of those issues will make things "worse." Prove that you aren't just the same shitposter who posts in every thread
>>
>>394355
Not him but if hiro listens to every retarded suggestion people have /qa/ will truly become /q2/ where because will argue for days at a time that loli should be banned from all of 4chan because it's illegal in one place.
>>
>>394365
That's not what I asked.
>>
>>394373
How is hiro listening to every retards suggestion to ban something not worse?
>>
>>394355
>mods! ban this post-ironic dank meme that someone just posted in one of my bait threads, it's literally the sole thing killing 4chan!
>hiro!!!! we really need a 2.5D isometric gundam futa board to get those stupid redditors out of my hugbox!
>fuck admins, stop doing it for free and add these things I don't like to the word filter!
>mods are fags, you're all out of control and suck shit! can you please coddle and pamper my specific subgroup on my homeboard please by banning these things I don't like?
>hiro, reddit is like SO gay! can you use some browser exploits to view their cookies and then ban them if they've ever associated with the site?

You're all a bunch of fucking faggots and you ruined this board with your shitty begging. Fuck off.
>>
>>394355
>Explain how addressing any of those issues will make things "worse."
>a board filled with literal non-issues and people spamming stupid shit and refuse any form of constructive discussion because IM RIGHT AND UR WONG I KNOW MUH BOARDBEST DESPITE CLEARLY NOT USING IT

So much this.

I like you and the things you have said.

issues will make things "worse." Prove that you aren't just the same shitposter who posts in every thread
>>
>>394425
How about instead of addressing them on a board filled with idiots and shitposters, you get them addressed on their respective boards by getting hiro on them. You fucking moron. /qa/ does not know what is best for the site and should not be used as such
>>
>>394425
/v/ doesn't need 17 new boards just because it's a shithole and nobody wants to stay there.

Also
>a lack of consistent moderation
>most mods of any board on the site.
>>
>>394432
That's not what I asked.
>>
>>394438
>/v/ doesn't need ...new boards
And why is that...?
>>
>>394453
Because it has one. It's called /v/ - Video Games

Now if you want we could also make a western anime board a eastern video game board a classic music board a retro mecha board a present history board (i can do this for hours) a western cooking board a extinct animal board a classic auto board and so on
>>
>>394460
Are you trying to make a point?
>>
>>394041
Hiro,

PLEASE split /sp/ into /sp/ and /spg/ - Sports Generals (make it just like /vg/ but for sports).
Take WWE from /asp/ and put it in /spg/, now everyone's happy

Keep a much more lax moderation approach on /sp/ but keep stringent rules on /spg/. /sp/ would be more of a sports bar atmosphere: topics only loosely-connected to sports allowed (sports culture, personal sports stories, current events involving athletes, etc). Also game threads, threads about a particular athlete, etc would be found on /sp/.
To summarize: /sp/ would be old /sp/, /spg/ would be just for generals.

I am certain that you could satisfy 90% of /sp/ and /asp/ with these rule changes.
>>
>>394465
I forgot to add an eastern /tv/ because that ones actually like /v/ since both boards are shitholes.
>>
>>394453
We don't need to make a useless fucking new board to seal away every subsection of a community that you don't like.
>>
>>394468
>generals
Kill yourself
>>
>>394474
I know you're shitposting, but /sp/ generals are exactly what generals should be: they're single threads for a game that's going on.

It would make no fucking sense to have 10+ threads going on for the same game.
>>
>>394473

you mean like how we have a Mecha anime board, and a cute anime board, and a hentai anime board...?
>>
>>394477
>I know you're shitposting
No, I'm not shitposting. Seriously, fucking kill yourself for thinking generals are good in anyway. You don't give it its own board or allow it, you fucking ban it
>>
>>394478
The difference is 4chan is an anime imageboard.

I keep getting triggered by newfags and lolsokawaii fangirls posting low quality images saved from facebook or other terrible sites. It's not so much a problem on other boards.

For those two boards mentioned, I would suggest after clicking [Start a New Thread] that a easily visible message in red explaining image sourcing (>implying anyone reads the FAQ) with links to iqdb and SauceNAO.

btw, I only started collecting images this year, so I would like to hear what other /c/itizens have to say about this but I don't want to make a meta thread there.
>>
>>394478
Anime is at the very least a sizable plurality of the site, and while I do hate the "4chan was an anime website 10 years ago so it will always be!" shit argument, I think it carries a little weight in this respect.

Mindlessly tacking on boards with reckless abandon about every little subsection of a community does nothing but turn us into a shitty 8gag-esque anonymous Reddit with slow discussion but the same shitty userbase.
>>
>>394041
I still say that /v/ doesn't need a board split. It's currently deeper in the shitter than it usually is, but a board split wouldn't help it. We just need non-AWOL mods, and perhaps an official clarification of what is/isn't allowed on the board. It doesn't even have to be something everyone agrees with, it just has to stop the endless shitposting a bit.

Regarding the /d/ and /aco/ issue, I still think they shouldn't of been separated in the first place, and the split is only hurting both boards as it is right now. In reality, most people don't really give a shit about where the art comes from, all they and their dick/pussy/ass cares about is how good it looks, and then fap away to it.

For /d/ and the futa issue, the board was originally made as a containment for it, so we might be a bit shit out of luck in regards to that. While I'd like an official ruling from a mod saying that there doesn't need to be 50 different futa-related threads with highly-specific fetishes to differentiate them, I don't think that'll happen.

>Many feel the moderation teams have become too comfortable in their positions and feel possessive towards the boards they frequently moderate, removing control of the community from the users.
I'm not sure if this is how I'd phrase it, but I agree with the general gist that the mods aren't doing their jobs more often than they are.
>>
please delete /mlp/, /co/, and /tv/

western content was a mistake
>>
>>394486
Yes, you're shitposting. You don't understand what you're talking about, yet you keep shitting out of your mouth.
>>
>>394506
You are the one shitposting for fucking trying to encourage general culture. Fuck off
>>
>>394490
You do realize that /v/ has more traffic than all the weeb boards combined, right? /pol/, too. Anime is actually a minority here.

Even then, videogames are a topic that's much broader and has a much wider appeal than anime, and its increasing yearly.
>>
>>394487
>>394490
And these boards are slow and useless
Just because you entitled weeaboo faggots get a board for every useless shit doesn't mean we couldn't too

There's nothing wrong with making new boards if they serve their purpose
>>
>>394474
>>394486
>>394508
Very convincing arguments, Bravo!
>>
>>394511
>You do realize that /v/ has more traffic than all the weeb boards combined, right?
You do realize that if you removed all the shitposting and offtopic posting off of /v/, it'd be one of the slowest boards on the site, right?
>>
>>394521
>this guy again

Can I see some statistics to back this up?
>>
>>394474
I actually wanted to put generals on their own containment board, I did NOT express support for generals and I actually hate them. You kill yourself.

My suggestion pleases everyone, generalfags and everyone else.
>>
>>394525
Can you provide me with a reason why /v/ having a high traffic has to do with the site not being japshit? A bunch of newfags shitposting on a board doesn't suddenly change the purpose of a site
>>
>>394521
If we removed all waifu faggotry from /a/ the board would be almost dead
>>

>If we removed all waifu faggotry from /a/ the board would be dead

>>
>>394530
>I actually wanted to put generals on their own containment board
Containment boards don't contain anything, fuck off. Generals get banned, not catered to.

>>394532
Funny, because all this would do is remove a lot of thread and shitty generalfags, but the board wouldn't really be too impacted
>>
>>394531
>deflecting

Thought so.

Let me touch that up for you.
>/d/, /aco/
>The creation of /aco/ had positive effects on /d/'s community and board culture, slowing the board to a comfortable pace and leaving undesirable topics untouchable by either board
>>
>>394041
You forgot the lack of moderation of /vp/.

Never let your containment boards have a lack of moderation. That's how you allow shitposters to fester and ruin boards and then move to other boards.
>>
>>394521
This is a fact and a known fact except to the Shitposters

THE

SOLUTION

FOR

CO

TV

/wf/- western franchises

>/wf/- western franchises

Why? Would all /co/ and /tv/ generals be shoved on to that board? Or only the ones some mod doesn't like?

I agree something needs to be done about not-comic and not-cartoon capeshit on /co/ though, but that could easily be fixed with a rulechange.

As for /tv/, a board split wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Either that or better moderation.
>>
>>394041
>>After being moved to /asp/, wrestling has overtaken the entire board
I could live with that, but now they start to shit up everybody else's threads too.
Please send a mod or something.
Why isn't there some containment board for the white trash?
>>
>>394468
There would be 10-15 different generals on /spg/, you can't make a board for that.

What would /sp/ talk about? people are already free to make the on topic threads they want. If you think the problem are the posters in the generals not leaving them, moving them to a new board would solve nothing.
>>
>>397068

I still think there should be a /general/- General generals

Basically, just the generals from boards who don't have enough generals to get a /vg/-type board of their own.

Would also be good for 4chan Cup threads and Winter Ball threads and stuff like that.
>>
/tv/ - waifuists are still persecuted, while capeshit is given a free pass
/r9k/ - roasties and normies ruin the board
/g/ - generals need to be banned or moved
/v/ - /v/ culture constantly removed
all - racism outside of /b/ is a terrible catch all rule designed so asspained janitors can report a post they don't agree with

Fix these and 90% of the stupid fucking redditors will piss off back to their hugbox shithole.
>>
>>396993
>Would all /co/ and /tv/ generals be shoved on to that board?
Anything that is either a multimedia franchise or just absurdly massive could go there, I imagine.
