Fucking hell, when will this captcha system get fixed?
>>340360
ask google
>>340364
Well, there should be some kind of alternative system for bot testing.
>>340360
If the captcha doesn't work, you report it directly to the NCMEC. The possibility of saving abused children takes priority.

I dont understand how we're STILL using Google Captcha.
It's fucking broken. There are alternatives. Many sites have their own captcha.
>>340408
No they don't. Only Google's is scalable enough to handle 4chan's traffic. However, there are many other ways to reduce botting, and removal of CAPTCHA doesn't mean we'll be back to the colored boxes spam levels.
>>340399
What if OP is not American?
>>340432
This is sheer nonsense on the grounds that
(A) 4chan has used self-hosted captcha before, removed only because the particular captcha used was too easily breakable and
(B) 4chan makes zero attempt to reduce the amount of captchas that need to be served, which can be reduced substantially.
>>340724
In fact part of the reason that Google's captcha is so fucking bad is that 4chan wastes so many captchas that Google's system assumes that 4chan users must be botting.

>generate thousands of captcha images (which takes a few seconds on a potato), name them with their md5 or some other key and store key, text, timestamp in a database
>serve them with cloudflare like everything else
>user requests a captcha to the API which replies with a random key from the database
>repeat every X hours and delete the oldest.
The servers were relieved of much load when cloudlfare was adopted, something like this shouldn't be an issue.

>(A) 4chan has used self-hosted captcha before, removed only because the particular captcha used was too easily breakable
For users without Javascript, at least. In fact the devs could probably restore this captcha today if they tweaked it a little to remove the spaces between the letters, and it would make the site a lot less painful for people without Javascript enabled.
>>340676
It doesn't make much of a difference; the law enforcement agencies of the world work with each other on this. Just report it to your local equivalent if you like.
>>340754
Recaptcha has been creating a continuous stream of unnecessary work for extension and app maintainers. If anyone's being a lazy ass, it's the people defending it.
>>340759
Not to mention for users!
This captcha is getting ridiculous
I click on literally all the street signs and its wrong.
it takes me 10 tries to get the right one.
thanks google.
>>340768
Please Understand.
>>340768
this.
and even when i try and use the legacy captcha it gives me two random words, and even if i type them in 100% correctly, and even after 10 attempts, it still says that i got it wrong. there is no escaping this hell, short of paying 4jew 20 dollars.
