/r/ - It was a board meant to get rid of sauce requests on /t/ and later /gif/ but modern users believe it's meant to get rid of what they consider "newfag" questions, it's only used to encourage /a/'s retarded, irrational elitism. The board doesn't even serve it's purpose, it has no community and therefore no incentive for people to help each other. In it's 12 years of history the only person to ever make /r/ work was a tripfag called Popcorn_Mariachi. The board should just be deleted.

If you are just viewing [s4s] through the /s4s/ board, you don't see the green posts, the posts with letters in their ids, or anything numberless. Together, those make up about 40-70 percent of [s4s], depending on the day. So conversation will appear disjointed and spastic, because you won't be getting the full picture.

"Containment board" does not just mean "thing that is bad" or "thing that I don't like".
It refers to something very specific, that being topics that are not permitted to overlap with other boards.
So for instance, if you have a case of a video game that has an anime adaptation or vice versa, you will be permitted the video game adaptation of the anime on /v/ or the anime adaptation of the video game on /a/. This is a case where the topic is permitted on both boards.
However, the same can't be said about My Little Pony. You'd be allowed to talk about a My Little Pony video game on /mlp/, however, you would not be allowed to talk about it on /v/. This is because /mlp/ is a containment board.
While [s4s] does heavily emphasize shitposting, the board does not have any actual topic, and thus it is not "containing" anything. It's just a statement that the content quality standards are lower than other boards. Same goes for /b/.
The only containment boards on 4chan are /pol/, /vg/, /vp/, and /mlp/. You *might* be able to argue that /r/ counts as well since recommendation threads are b& on several boards, but that's really up in the air.

That depends on the board, some use it as contaiment, some don't.
The issue with your definition is that half of the boards on the site were made to separate content from other boards, /jp/, /soc/, /co/, /tg/, /his/, /k/, etc. All were sommunities without a board but which had somewhat of a culture even before having a board, and the boards were made to accomodate them.
Another thing is that there has never been an official definition for containment board, so you can't just claim it to be what you want, I think a better description would be "a board meant to separate parts of the community seen as unwanted", that way you can call /b/ a containment board, something moot agreed it was during the /q/ days (fuck that board, and this one too).
Side note: /qa/ is a containment board too, for meta.
