Yes, 4chan is bad at understanding irony.
>>
>>387905
nice blog, will forward to my friends
>>
>>387905

>go in a thread and act in such a way that gets one or more people to tell you to fuck off to Reddit
>lol they just disagree with my opinions

I cant speak for every person here but I only tell people to fuck off to Reddit if they demand changes to the site to make it more like another site, call for banning of things they dont like, or act in such a way that is detrimental to the community as a whole.

Making outlandish demands, getting mad at culture, jokes, memes, etc., or telling someone to fuck off to another board or site because they disagree with you are hallmarks of outsiders that want this site to be more like theirs.

If someone is posting shitty opinions I'll either call them a troll, tell them why their opinion is shit, or ignore them.
Whichever works best.

embarrassing, change is absolutely necessary with the direction this garbage staff is taking with the addition of /trash/ and /wsr/

>>388118
>i cant read
>>
>>388124
If someone tells you to go back to reddit you don't need to start a thread because you are angry, this is not a hugbox.
Now fuck off.
>>
>>388124
Change isn't needed for 4chan. If anything, what's needed is the site needs to revert
>>
1. That's because people are dumb.

2. It's still not a hugbox. You can still post no matter how much you may be hated for doing so. Whereas other sites have shadowbans and will literally ban you for dissent. And, when 4chan does it like they did during the whole GG thing and all, I can tell the mods to suck my dick and bypass the ban easily. So, at no point is there a time where you're unable to speak about things. People mostly tell you to fuck off because you act like a fag, and when others agree you go "le i was le pretendin 2 be le retard ur dum anyway not wastin muh time on u XD :^)" and shit like that.
>>
>>387962

It doesn't even qualify as that. It has the same effect as a slight breeze.

So much projecting in a single post lmao
>>
>>388124

I see nothing wrong with /trash/. It exists for a reason.

/wsr/ is retarded though. They're dividing a board that hardly anyone used in the first place.
/r/ is so underused that people make requests on every other board and the mods dont care because they know for a fact that they will not receive an answer on /r/, ever.
>>
>>388283
No, but it sure does a good job of obfuscating posts and derailing threads with empty one-liners and other bullshit that doesn't contribute to the actual thread topic just like real downvoting does.
>>
>>388286

what the fuck is that even supposed to mean
>>
>>388293

If your thread is filled with shitty memes and one-liners than it was garbage to begin with.
>>
>>388297
There are many decent threads that are detailed by shitposting though
>>
>>388290
/wsr/ has been something requested for years anon. It serves more purpose than just anime recs and sourcefags and it sure as hell has more purposes then the other boards hiro has added. /trash/ especially serves no fucking purpose as its literally just /b/, except, its supposed to serve as a dumping ground for off-topic threads. In that case, the board should of been made no thread creation

/wsr/ also helps the mods actually enforce the no requests rules without complaints
>>
>>388297
Shitposting happens outside of low-effort meme threads, you know.

Well, things change. I don't see why some people need to bring up what 4chan was when they see someone's rustled jimmies over something they like. These people know the boards for their interests aren't going to be removed so it shouldn't be thought of as a problem.
>>
>>388355
Things don't change. Japshit was one of the sites original purposes and is still one of its core purposes. On top of that, a good majority of the sites culture is built around japshit and even the original site code is japshit. To imply the site isn't still a site with the main focus of japshit because of its rising anti-japfags and because its made sub-board to talk about non-jap shit is to deny its roots and the sites very culture itself
>>
>>388359
>Things don't change. Japshit was one of the sites original purposes and is still one of its core purposes.
But things do. It's not exactly the main purpose anymore.

>On top of that, a good majority of the sites culture is built around japshit and even the original site code is japshit. To imply the site isn't still a site with the main focus of japshit because of its rising anti-japfags and because its made sub-board to talk about non-jap shit is to deny its roots and the sites very culture itself
It isn't still a site with Jap stuff being the main focus anymore. The list of boards reflects that. It would be like saying /f/ is only for Jap stuff because of what it was originally, despite having around 50% or more of the flashes posted in a day will be unrelated to Japan.
>>
>>388368
No, it is one of its major purposes still. To say its not, is to say one of the biggest purposes of 4chan is for low effort shitposting as that's what a lot of people use it for these days and I outright refuse to accept that until Hiro kills the site

> The list of boards reflects that
They don't. Almost every forum in existence with a main topic always has sub-forums. If you make a runescape forum and then make a few dozen sub-forums and then they become the most popular boards on the forum, it doesn't suddenly become a not runescape forum. The forum was made for runescape and its still its intended purpose. The sub-forums purpose was to give people who like runescape a chance to talk about non-runescape things. However, said forums came popular with people who don't even like runescape and soon become flooded by them and the original audience got chased out. But, at the end of the day, the forum is still a forum for runescape, it just simply gained a large number of users who chose to be ignorant of the sites purpose and audience and actively attempt to force the administration to abandon the sites roots
>>
>>388375
>No, it is one of its major purposes still. To say its not, is to say one of the biggest purposes of 4chan is for low effort shitposting as that's what a lot of people use it for these days and I outright refuse to accept that until Hiro kills the site
It's a major purpose, but not the /main/ purpose.

>That paragraph
Don't be silly. They do. We'd just have a Western or off topic board if it didn't. You don't see that your example is that other sites with have unrelated boards/categories that become the most popular, whereas 4chan not only has this going on but also a lot more of them than the boards that suit the original purpose?
>>
>>388385
It's still its most major purpose

>whereas 4chan not only has this going on but also a lot more of them than the boards that suit the original purpose?
Offtopic posting almost always will be more common and popular than ontopic posting, doesn't really matter where you are. People for some reason just love to get offtopic, even on /a/. That popularity also increases when your site becomes notorious for its offtopic posting and people come to the site in a flood with misconceptions of what it is. 4chan is literally the perfect of what happens when you make a site with a main topic focus and thenit gets infamous for its certain offtopic posting and then people flood it with misconceptions and attempt to kick out its original users(still pending, very close to succession)

Reddit isn't Hacker News. You could have six digit negative comment karma and still post. They recently imposed a minimum comment karma score.

The example in the image happens to be banned but not because of their low karma score. It's because they posted child pornography photoshopped to have Bernie Sanders' head in an /r/politics thread.

Every single one of those "Non Jap" boards shouldn't have been created. m00t made them to draw in more newfags. He never cared about the site culture because he was a goon too full of himself for the SA hugbox. Those faggots jumping on the bandwagon long after it had already gathered momentum and was hurtling downhill can fuck off. /v/ is also a Japanese board as it was created to discuss mainly Japanese video games.

Not even true in the slightest bit. I was there for those adtrw threads and everybody on SA thought it was great. There was no manifesto about how Something Awful is terrible and they needed to leave except that moot said that he wasn't going to make people pay to use the site. I even submitted a banner. You're talking out your ass.
>>

4chan was founded in 2014 by stormfront expatriates as a safe space to discuss #gamergate

4chan's old enough to be in the 7th grade and people still think the circumstances of its inception matter.

In 5 and a half years there will be people old enough to post who weren't alive when 4chan was created.

This guy is right. Sure, a bunch left due to SA moderation since it was easy going and you could say shit like "mods=fags" and not lose an account, but it was generally well received on SA. It was just a place to post images and discuss shit easier whereas on SA you had to worry about FYAD and everybody else talking shit.

Non Jap boards are the majority and the most popular, unlike Muslims in Europe. Saying 4chan's main purpose is still Jap content is the same as saying Australia is still an Aboriginal country.

>>389429
Yes, this is totally a ruse despite legitimate points.
>>
>>389435
>s the same as saying Australia is still an Aboriginal country.
This shitty country was never coon land, they just walked and shat on it, but they never claimed it. What a shitty comparison. 4chan was made with the intention of being japshit and was claimed by animeposters since its conception. So the other anons comparison still is valid
>>
>>389435
What legitimate points? If you can't handle other people posting anime, leave 4chan. That's it. Why not go to one of the hundreds of forums for people who don't care for anime instead? I just don't get it.

Yes, there are boards that aren't about jap culture. But if you complain about anime, it simply meant this place isn't for you.
If you go to a Christian school, you can't complain if someone talks about the bible during phys ed, or geography or math. Simple as that.

>Just like America isn't an Indian country anymore.
That's a better comparison than the one I gave.

Yeah, I know. But the Jap boards aren't going to be deleted any time soon. Shitposts about getting rid of them can be reported or at least ignored.

>>389450
>It's almost as if those board are sub-forums made for people who like jap stuff to talk about non-jap stuff. Amazing, I know!
You might have a point if Jap boards weren't the minority and less popular.
>>
>>389453
>You might have a point if Jap boards weren't the minority and less popular.
That's pretty obvious though. Anime haters don't go to Jap boards. So if there was a 100 anime fans and 50 anime haters, non Jap boards would have 150 users.
>>
>>389455
Good point.
>>
>>389453
No, the point is still there. A good portion of the non-jap boards were made pre-2007. The website only really started falling into anti-jap after that point. A lot of those boards were splits from /b/ as well to allow people to have actual discussion. Shit like /pol/ and /v/ are actually more popular with non-anons than it is with actual anons. If you removed all the shitposting in them, they would probably drop into one of the slowest boards on the site. Using outside popularity to claim the site isn't for japshit is a fucking retard way of proving anything
>>

>If you removed all the shitposting in them, they would probably drop into one of the slowest boards on the site.
Probably true but irrelevant.
>>
>>389470
Because they aren't even regular users to the fucking site, that's why they are relevant. Using people who don't even use the site to say it is x, is retarded. The shitposting point is also relevant because the popularity of those boards come from shitposting, not ontopic posting. Unless you want to call 4chan a site for shitposting, you can't use shitposting as a factor of the sites purpose
>>
>>389485
>Because they aren't even regular users to the fucking site, that's why they are relevant.

But they do use the site.

Reddit hate is a meme. So is website loyalty and exclusivity. So is patriotism.

You need to learn the definition of the word meme.

"Meme" is basically the thoughtform version of the word "thing". A spreadable idea.

Hating on reddit is absolutely an idea that spreads. It's a meme. Meme doesn't mean "Image Macro" it doesn't mean "Idea" it doesn't mean "Pop Culture Reference" it means ALL of those things and more.

Way to act like a spoiled 14 year old.
