I can see where you're coming from, seeing how most mobilefaggots usually overlap with redditors, memespouters, facebookfags, etc. but it's still silly to prevent people from posting if they're on their phone.
The quality will certainly go up, but I myself won't be able to use 4chan for the majority of the day if this were to happen. I suppose it's a trade off, and in the end it's for the greater good.

I doubt it would show such a significant downwards trend if only oldfags were leaving. I'd say the more likely scenario is that far fewer normalfags are joining than before but roughly the same amount are leaving (both old and newfags). In the past a large number of people have always been leaving at any given time but there have been enough people finding the site that it still grew. These days 4chan has lost most of its media attention to Reddit and Anonymous (who no longer are reported as being anything to do with 4chan) and without its edgy reputation, the site has stopped growing

That and there's malware on the front page, the admin is involved in a legal suit over a scandal with selling out user data to governments and businesses, half of the posts are "le ironic shitpost XD maymays!!!!!11!!!", biased admins censoring people and just abusing rules to ban people for shitty reasons, etc. The site has become more and more garbage as time went on. At least when moot was in charge you felt like at least one person in charge gave a little bit of a fuck. Now? There's nobody who cares.

They already split /v/ into /vg/ and /vr/. (and /vp/ kind of). These new boards are no different than those. /news/ is not a failure or /pol/2 any more than /biz/ is, /news/ is slow because people like you won't post news and discuss it.
