They believed in Socialism but with a strong sense of Nationalism to go with it.

It makes sense if you think about it. If your neighbors were all similar to you and you cared about them then you probably wouldn't mind sharing resources with them.

In America, we don't have Socialism because a bunch of border-hopping spics come over. No one wants them to have free shit.

If you were surround by one folk though, who were just like you, who you cared about, you would probably be in favor of Socialism.

Nationalism + Socialism = a winning combination. Just look how it turned Germany around. They went from having a shit economy to fighting against numerous other countries in a world war.

National Socialism is often misunderstood as a purely far-right wing movement, thus, many people wondered where the "Socialism" comes from.

In fact, the Socialism part was equally important - the collectivism, the social programs, the anti-Capitalist, anti-bourgouise tendencies all made the NSDAP appealing for the "small people", the lower middle class.

Its a little misleading though, because said classes are only replaced by a political elite. And you can bet your ass they are far more powerfull/rich than the rest.
Basically, at the time of the elections, Hitler was in direct competition with the communist party, hence his attempt to get votes from the left.

Very few nazis were ever serious about Socialism and the fews one that were got taken care of pretty soon.

Where they steal from the rich and they give to the poor and force better people to 'lift up' and 'help' the rest of the nation.

It's just Bernie's America with strong borders and it would collapse quickly without slave labour.

National Socialism, acknowledging that the Nazi Party existed before Hitler joined, cannot be thought of anything but the personal ambitions and ravings of Adolf Hitler in his vision for a Great German Empire. Read the primary sources with even just a bit of criticality, and you'll instantly see how flimsy and paradoxical the ideology is, and it only subsisted on the postwar attitude of reaction and revanchism. The fact that Hitler Killed Stasser should also kill any belief that Nazi Germany had any meaningful socialist facets.

Here's some leddit posts, read them critically, and pay attention to sources, but they're good posts mostly.
