So there's a controversy hitting the news in Israel for the last month or so, about a soldier that shot a terrorist after he was detained and lying on the ground (the man did stab a couple of people before that incident). This soldier is now facing manslaughter charges after a video of the incident was leaked.

The soldier claimed he thought he had a suicide vest and that he was about to detonate it.

I found a good massage circling through facebook reacting to the incident and I thought you might like it, so I translated it from Hebrew as well as I could and I will now paste it here for you to enjoy and respond to, be nice.

I am a soldier that serves in the "Nezah Yehuda" platoon, for those of you that don't know, it's the religious platoon
of the "Kfir" devision.

Our unit was deployed on one of the check posts between Israel and the West Bank. To our check post arrived a young Arab
man, when my fellow squad mate came to check him out, the man took out a knife that quickly got stained by the blood of
my friend.

I picked up my rifle quickly, aimed to the arm of the assailant, but someone quicker than I am already got to shoot him
in the arm first. The assailant fell and the knife dropped from his hand. I kept aiming my rifle at him.

The assailant moved his other hand slowly, I yelled at him to stop moving it or I'll shoot. He stopped for a second, but
them continued moving it slowly...
I was sweating all over.
Do you know the, not so funny, joke that one tells his friend when he is wearing warm clothes
in a hot summer day? "Only seeing you like this makes me hot!"
That was exactly how I felt, only seeing the assailant wearing a jacket in a hot summer's day made me hot.
Only, it wasn't because I felt sorry for him that he must be hot... Not at all!
I just couldn't decide if that bulge I see is a fat belly or a suicide vest.
I yelled at the man, in Hebrew and in Arabic, to stop moving, but he just looked at me, smiling, and kept moving his
hand over to the center of his stomach with slowness that scared me.
The thoughts in my had ran like they are on a marathon, what should I do? How should I act? That was the question that
floated among them.

If I shoot the assailant that is lying on the floor, and it turns out he didn't have a vest, I would have to spend the
next 10 years in a prison cell. And let's say this, it's not the top of my wish list.
On the other hand, if I don't shoot the man, and he does carry a suicide vest, I die, or get injured, and so are the
rest of my squad.
So, what should I do? How can I act in this impossible situation where every option seems bad, and I have seconds to
decide.

The assailant kept moving, I kept yelling for him to "Stop or I'll shoot!" and so did the rest of the squad. But, as he
kept moving slowly, no one dared to shoot him. We were all scared to lose our lives completely.
How are we supposed to act in this situation? I asked myself, and tried to think.
If I shoot the terrorist and he is wearing a vest - I'll be a hero. On the other hand if I shoot him and he is not
wearing any vest, I will sit in jail instead of the assailant, charged with manslaughter, maybe even murder, only
because I killed a man that tried to kill me to save me and my friends.

I looked at the bulge in his stomach again, and couldn't make up my mind, is this his belly or a vest?
I felt the sweat dripping on my face, looked to the direction of my squad mates, they were as stressed as I was.

I've seen the man on the ground smile towards us, a victory smile. The next thing I heard was a loud boom. I've seen my
friends lie on the floor, bleeding, and I lost consciousness...

I woke up at the hospital, I screamed at the doctors that took care of me to leave me alone, "I'm fine! Leave me. Treat
the others - they are in a tougher state than I am!"
The doctors said it's OK, they are feeling well already, but I wanted to see them. The doctors tried to hide the bitter
truth from me, but I wanted to hear it stubbornly I didn't give them a choice. When I heard the news I lost conciousness
again....
*
I woke up, I asked the nurse to help me up. When she asked me "What for?" I answered that I wanted to go to the funeral
of my friends.
She told me that the funeral was two days ago, when I was unconscious. I cried. Cried for my friends, young kids that
won't ever grow up. I cried because I felt remorse for the fact that I didn't shoot the terrorist when I still had the
chance...
And then I was mad. Mad at the state, the state that gave us guns, told us to protect it's citizens, but then cuffs our
hands and doesn't allow us to shoot for our self defence.
I was mad at the state that punishes a soldiers that shoots when he feels threatened by a cold blooded terrorist that
wants to kill that soldier with all his heart. And instead of the state standing behind that soldier, the state puts a
knife in his back and charges him with manslaughter, as if he was just another terrorist.
I'm mad at the country, and hope it wakes up, with our help, the citizens that will wake the politicians that lead it.
Because each of us has someone close to him in the army. A son, a daughter, brother, sister, cousin, a friend from the
neighborhood, or even you, yourself.

So, if you care about them, you will act for the freedom of the soldier from prison, whether it is in the support rally,
or by sharing and rising this subject to the people's awareness. Because if a soldier that shot a terrorist while
threatened is sitting in jail, the next soldier might think a million times before acting, and that hesitation, might
cost him his life. Who else knows it as I?
I hope for you all that you will never know.

This is from me, a soldier mourning the death of his friends, and hopes you will make the change so that you will not
have to mourn your loved ones as well.

Definitely a controversial topic. If there was reason to suspect a threat to your or others lives, it is justified. If it was a man who had given up, begging for his on the ground, and shot him in the head, then it would be a different story.

tl;dr

Either way, I saw the video, and it was clearly deliberate. It's no surprise he'll go to jail, and the Israeli government must send him to jail to maintain their standing in the world.

And of course that's complete bullshit. We have mufti Merkel proscecuting a guy for insulting Erdogan, while making deals with said sultan, who puts people in jail for making jokes on Facebook. We send tons of cash to African dictators, some of whom might even be literal fucking cannibals. One fucking terrorist getting shot isn't the end of the world.

To me, it illustrates the overt antisemitism of leftists. Muslims do worse than this habitually, yet are never on the receiving end of leftist wrath. To me, every dead terrorist is a win for the good guys, and I don't care if he was cuffed, detained, or whatever, because our enemy surely wouldn't spare us if we were.

Israel gets accused of genociding the Palestians so often, that I kind of hope they'll one day snap, and really do it. And then everyone can stop pretending that their response to terrorism today is anything more than self defense.

The Islamic world is the eternal enemy of the West. I do not say that out of a deepseated belief, but out of my experience of living in this world, and seeing how muslims treat us.

The whole problem of the situation is the sandnigger with a camera. Next time you shoot an arab make sure you shoot whoever is filming too. God bless IDF

For that Israeli who did not shoot, he was absolutely justified in shooting a non-compliant man after repeated warnings.

For the soldier you are talking about

https://youtu.be/qjlmbEZAvNc?t=107

This is unfucking acceptable for a modern military. I didn't hear him shout anything before charging his weapon and shooting. The soldiers near him look confused as to why he shot.

Also, was this man not searched after he was BTFO? Why was he not handcuffed?

If he wasn't searched, THEN WHY IS AN AMBULANCE ALLOWED TO GO NEAR HIM?

This was a cucked moment for usually based israel's.

Really... why the fuck are the other soldiers just standing around after one of their own just shot a man?

In the US military you'd hear at a minimum

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SHOOTING AT?"

guys, please keep your pity party in Israel.

Is it the incident in this video?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjlmbEZAvNc

The situation in the video and the one in the story don't share many similarities. I'd understand if it was a tense and unclear situation but the guy just comes walking out of nowhere, charges his rifle and shoots. It's an open and shut case (even if the terrorist deserved it).
>>
I'm with Israel but this story is BS.

I watched the video and there was plenty of time to approach the barely conscious terrorist on the ground and use some zip tie on him for constraint. You surly all carry that.

On top he was surrounded by Israelis, if the soldier missed, the bullet could have ricocheted and hurt someone.

Basically the soldier is a moron who didn't follow the ROE and should be prosecuted to the fullest.

It's ok Merchant I still love you.

I don't care what you do in your own country. I actually like that you guys trigger sjws and muds so hard and like that you are pretty much national socialist. I'm even happy knowing you have nukes hoping you'll someday use them on all the muds.

Just pls no mossad shit overseas. You've gotten/stolen so much shit.

Let's face it, a Jew wouldn't waste money on a bullet unless it was necessary.
