bit of that but the england team practically said themselves during the last ashes that their favourite ground to play at is edgbaston because of the raucous party atmosphere. lord's is quite subdued and respectful for the most part so they can't feed off the energy. plus the whole prestige of the place means touring teams really want to put in a good performance there.
cant blame it on that, we were just beaten because we didn't play well enough 1st innings. but that goes some way to explaining why we dont play taht well at lord's.

Which is, distilled, that the Anglo Saxon culture is that which most fundamentally understands joy. Whether it be in the wit of conversation, our restrained extravagance, or, most particularly, in the joy both of competition, and result. This is what motivates our success, and, most fundamentally, the amicable cohesion of our people.

Bit late but hopefully you still see this. Graduating from Warwick in a couple of days. I hope you're living on campus and not actually in Coventry, because May the powers that be help you if you're living in Coventry. I stayed there in a hotel once for about a week and you heard the police/ambulances going off at least once every day and night. It's also a pretty ugly city, since you guys flattened it during that *frank exchange of opinions* and they just rebuilt it in the ugliest fashion possible.
Other areas nearby: Leamington Spa is slightly more tolerable if you can ignore the unwashed masses of liberal undergraduates, and the pretty noisy party scene in some parts of town. Kenilworth is alright, but a bit quiet. Both of the above have student accommodation. On-campus accommodation is pretty decent for postgrads, but campus tends to become very dead during the holidays. The town of Warwick is relatively small but very lovely, visit if you have the time.
Lastly, Warwick is one of the most left-wing universities in the country. Good luck hiding your power level. I'm headed back home to the socialist capitalist dystopia ruled by the Lee dynasty.

They do have UK names actually.
Eurofighter = RAF Typhoon (a hat-tip to the Hawker Typhoon which replaced the Hurricane)
The F-35B is called "Lightning" already so we can pretend its to do with the English-Electric Lightning (best aircraft ever imho).
This renaming sometimes goes the other way though:
US Apache = Army Air Corps "Attack Helicopter Mark 1"
Perhaps nobody was feeling poetic that afternoon.

He went to Denmark a few years ago, after 20-ish years of not visiting, and realised he had no cultural association with them anymore - I went with him and it was honestly rather sad. He's essentially the last of what you could really call of the bourgeoisie, and, upon speaking to an ethnic shop keeper in the suburb of Copenhagen where he was brought up, the fellow asked him, [translated] "Are you trying to speak like an old film star or something?" My father had never spoken Danish any other way.
Now he helps in village affairs, there's still a twinge to his accent, but he feels very English - and, above all else, I think the English are so very welcoming to those who wish to participate.
So, to conclude this long winded post, he above all else feels English. Hell, he left Denmark after starting an anti-tax party, and moving his companies to Jersey, so there was something English about him all along.

You know that just asking for FTAs is nothing right?
Australia for example will want agriculture on the table - as in 0 tarrifs on our exports.
However we want to protect our existing steel industry.
Our high-tech manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors are pretty developed, so we'd want those tarrifs dropped too - and certain patent rights protected for us.
This will be the start of a many year long process with a country that is already friendly as possible to you. GL with everyone else.
The UK isn't even on our economic periphery, we want to secure FTAs with Indonesia, India, Malaysia and the USA first.

The definition of "integration" is completely changed now.
It used to mean people would anglicise their names and give up their religion so as to be indistinguishable from native Brits.
Nowadays its "This is Moahamed Ibn Pifucker Ali, he sells kebabs, doesn't participate with the native community and prays 5 times a day. He doesn't blow people up and therefore is an integration success story."

>>81469624
Again, as an outsider, while I'd love to believe in this, I think it's going to be a lot more difficult than that.
I know Morality Man has been getting a lot of shit in these threads lately for being too bluepilled and ranting on and on about muh drug abuse, but if you've read The Abolition Of Britain, the fact is that so much has been done to systematically dismantle this country's cultural and socio-historical institutions that there isn't much left, other than Blair's hopelessly deluded "Cool Britain" nonsense that was half-heartedly implemented around the turn of the century. The smaller towns and provinces have survived thanks to their relative isolation from the more urban pockets of crass consumer capitalism, it is true, but they're slowly yet surely fading out, while the notion of immigration somehow managing to fix all your problems continues to loom large.
It does, in a sense, remind me of Japan (yes, same anon who made that comparison earlier). Much of their countryside, where it wasn't ruined by rapid modernisation, still exists in a wonderfully preserved way. And yet, on the flip side, without any immigration at all, they too are slowly dying out. It's sad, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I can't tell you how to fix your problems. The Lee Dynasty pre-empts most of mine and resolves them accordingly, not to mention that the Socialist Capitalist Dystopia is a lot smaller and easier to manage. All I can say is that I voted for Brexit. Good luck.

Integration does work, and the Sikhs are pretty much the perfect example of what integration is. They don't cause societal issues, they add to our culture, they have historically fought for the empire, their temples are nice and they do charitable things and most importantly they were the only religious group aside from Christians and Jews to vote majority to leave the EU
