There is a widely held belief that moderate Muslims are friendly while extremist Muslims are the bad guys. In truth they both want the same thing accomplished and need each other.
Extremist Muslims need moderate Muslims to shame us into opening borders. Moderate Muslims need extremist Muslims to look good in comparison. Extremist Muslims kill people for drawing Mohammed while moderate Muslims say that drawing Mohammed is hate speech. Extremist Muslims need to be the lone arbiters of Sharia while moderate Muslims call any accurate interpretation of Sharia Islamophobic. Extremist Muslims occasionally kill moderate Muslims while killing westerners, moderate Muslims need to die to give plausible deniability.
