here's how america's political system works-
50 states, each state gets a set number of 'electoral votes', some states get hundreds some get a handful. california, new york, and texas get the most votes because they have very large populations
electoral votes are winner-take-all. so if you receive the most votes in a state then you get ALL of that states electoral votes. it's not split up like in the primaries. states don't change much politically in the short term so you can count on some states to always vote democrat or always vote republican. we call these blue states and red states. states that can go either way are called swing states.
swing states are everything. believe it or not- all of elections are decided by a bunch of boring cities in the midwest swing states with idiotic populations that are so unsure of their values that they can change sides at the drop of a hat with no cognitive dissonance. but that's not entirely true- swing states go to the candidate that is willing to spend more money and time on their boring midwest state than the other boring midwest states.
but all of this is irrelevant in the face of a 'free' media that can say anything it wants even if it lies that is owned by people that are only interested in getting democrats elected. it's called the 'liberal media bias' but it's fucking out of control this year because there just aren't any conservative points of view at all in the media. zero. it's all liberal and it's all lies.
