There's no reason to rush it until the new cabinet finishes trade talks with other governments.

The EU is trying to be coy saying "NO NEGOTIATIONS UNTIL EXIT" except this is just fine for us - we don't have to spread our negotiators thin since they're all dealing with India/US and so on, and when we do exit they're all ready to deal with the EU full-time.

If the EU said "negotiations first" it would actually be more inconvenient.

>Are they still vehemently anti-Brexit?
The Newspapers were always sympathetic to Brexit, and print media is far more influential here than they are in the US.

Personally, I think the BBC did a decent job of being neutral but are always some people on here who can't handle the news reporting on any negative Brexit story. There are certainly some journalists/presenters at the beeb who are loving every minute of this, THE NIEL in particular.

>Are the twitterers still twittering angrily about it?
Twitter has never mattered, and has been proven to be wildly out of touch with public mood in two elections so far.

Because

a) Disability benefits are notoriously generous and rather predictably, were exploited by scroungers. For a long time you could make up some nonsense about bad knees and expect to live a nice, comfortable life, far nicer than somebody working 9-5 for pennies.

a) The "can't work" meme is complete bollocks, unless you are literally deaf dumb and blind then you should be able to find any fucking job - if you are mentally disabled, you can lift things, if you're physically disabled, do some data entry.

There is nothing more absurd than this massive push for disability access everywhere then it turns out nobody disabled actually leaves their fucking house.

Why the fuck isn't he an MP? Can't he even win an election in his own seat? The injustice of our electoral system knows no bounds. This is why the sham Tories need to be wiped out and replaced with a UKIP majority. It's the only hope for our country now. I'm not even confident that May will take us out of the EU. She will look for the earliest excuse to keep us in. Given how she didn't even win an election to become PM, I wouldn't be surprised of she showed equal disregard for the will of the people with respect to the referendum.

This isn't entirely true, the EU is still immensely important simply because they are neighbours.

The issue is the EU has basically created a perfect two-stage plan for trade negotiation under the assumption this is somehow some sort of problem.

What's more the EU also assumes we won't just bypass their bullshit and go directly to nation's governments for specific matters of importance, like with the Calais border control. Neither France nor the UK want the EU swinging their bureaucratic dick around when we're just trying to resolve a pertinent issue.

MoS and the DM loathe each other.

When the MoS won Newspaper of the Year at the Press Awards, the DM (print edition*) didn't mention it at all despite it being highly prestigious.

*online edition is, yet again, another beast.

Before the referendum she was seen as a eurosceptic, a pragmatic one however. Hence the remain vote but basically zero campaigning for it.

Cmon lad don't bullshit, disability benefit is only generous if you are seriously disabled, or if you're a cunt cheating the system.

Secondarily if you are actually disabled then getting a job will be tougher, people who are disabled simply won't be as productive generally compared to able bodied people - we should get real, the market is generally majority of the time going to choose candidates able in body and mind, because it is best for business.
In addition, many of the menial roles you suggest may well be swept away in coming decades if automation does advance further as some predict.

Look I think the whole way our society provides for welfare is going to have to be reconsidered quite probably in the decades ahead. Even now in the short term personally I think wider family should do more to help disabled relatives, family responsibility should come first for their own if possible. But don't start talking shite about how disabled people are generally getting an easy ride and most could walk into a job tomorrow - it's rubbish lad.

I've noticed a sentiment here in the USA that's been gaining a lot of steam: People don't have to know anything about politics. The idea I've been hearing a lot about, especially on college campuses, is that political thought is equivalent to opinions, and that's as far as it has to go. It's a pretty terrifying idea, what with how intricate politics really is. Is a similar sentiment shared in the UK, to your knowledge?

>Do you think they'll grow out of this radical left phase?

I think the majority of people grow out of leftism eventually, think they have all the answers when really they're just young and naive, the majority of leftists have always been the youth same as it was back in the 60's, they too came to their senses etc.

A literal woman prime minister stood outside No 10 saying we need more equality.

Despite this, feminists will still complain about the Patriachy keeping minorities down or whatever, moving whatever goal posts required to reach the conclusion. You just know.

We all get to the realisation where you literally cannot bargain or take on the views of certain groups because you know they will never relinquish their fantasy world. Not even UKIP is as fucking delusional and that had a singular goal.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/eu-referendum-brexit-turnout-young-voters-youth-vote-double-a7129181.html

The 35% figure came from a sky news poll.

The 70% figure comes from an opinium poll conducted on behalf of a university.

Let's be serious, here. Who would you trust more? An independent polling agency or Sky News?

From my rather narrow view, it does seem that many people go into politics with the same maxims as they hold idealised in daily life; to whit they cannot and will not understand politics, especially foreign affairs, because their view often boils down to

>muh refugees
>muh world peace
>muh globalism

So yes, there is often such a view. The main problem IMO is people have the bizarre idea that states and people can be rated by the same moral standards, when literally the only moral duty of a nation is to maximise the quality of life for its inhabitants and its only material duty to expand its ability to do so.

Hell, for even suggesting that of all the natural resources of the Middle East and Orient the least valuable and most replaceable were its people I was positively shunned.

According to the poll, among all age groups except the elderly, turnout was below 72%.

It's structured around modules of a sort.

At iGCSE I studied Germany 1919-1939, Russia 1917-1921, US / USSR relations 1945-1962, and Israel / Palestine 1919-1991.

The latter was painful.
Literally >Post-Imperial Guilt!: The Syllabus

It's a bit fucked, brah. At A-level it gets a lot better, but even then you usually only get c. 30% of the course on just British history, the rest is on 'international' (i.e not British) history and on a 'theme' (varying in basedness from Land Warfare 1792-1945 to Civil Rights in the US).
