Well its rather easy. Let them burn their ressources, fall back, shell them while retreating, let the russians stop them with the airforce, retaking now is a walk in the psrk for a competent fighting force.
seriosuly if the saa would have 10000 more competent soldiers this war would have been over 4 years ago.

I made a map from Aleppo with the SAA recent gains in the Industrial Distict near Bani Zeid area.
SAA is about to siege the Bani Zeid District and north of it, it just farm easy to capture, and just get next of the Castello Road, complete in the siege of Aleppo.

Biggest joke is when you see a translated article about Russia's aggression towards Lithuania or Baltic states, which was written by some guardian or dailymail journalist who never lived here or understands russia. And they present it like it's a big deal. It's a joke.
So people who read new like that believes everything.

>A veteran of the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, Batirashvili became a jihadist after being discharged from the Georgian military and served in various command positions with Islamist militant groups fighting in the Syrian Civil War. Batirashvili was previously the leader of the rebel group Muhajireen Brigade (Emigrants Brigade), and its successor, Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar (Army of Emigrants and Supporters).

>crimes committed weren't one sided at all in the greek-turkish relations
I'm pretty sure I didn't say that we are the good guys here.
I know about the atrocities we committed during the Greco-Turkish war but I still doubt that we lit the thr fire that burned Smyrna to the ground
Probably final map for today

smyrna fire is blamed on turks but "why would you burn down your own city, to prove that you won a war"
there are witness testimonies both for and against turks/greeks/armenians/jews burning down the city, so no one really knows
but the greek record on incendiary tendencies really does not help your record
in any case the greek population of istanbul has been growing back up for the last few years, especially because of the greek economic crisis

to be honest i doubt, that the saa is going for connecting the territories soon.first they will close the road from two sides, the southern side being even more important, because its basically not assaultable by nusra.
then they will cut of bani zeid from the other rebel territories and break it down piece by piece. AFTER THIS, they will connect the territories.

Rebels flee Aleppo front lines, steal weapons and supplies
>Liwaa Al Hurriya Al-Islamiye (Liwaa Islamic Freedom), one of the factions under the Free Syrian Army umbrella, issued a statement condemning a group of militants numbering 15 for abandoning their positions in Mallah, Rashideen, and Research Center and stealing weapons, equipment, and supplies that are valued at $75,000.
>The FSA made a few conditions in its “bayan.” The group was given 24 hours to return the weapons and supplies they stole. If they were to miss the 24 hour deadline, the group will be subjected to a shariah court for fleeing the front lines and stealing weapons and equipment.
>The FSA requested that none of its allies were to accept this group into their ranks. The rebel Islamist group declared that they’ll abandon funding of shariah schools in Jisr Al-Shughour and will stop mending highways amongst many civil activities due to shortage of funds resulting from theft. and that this statement was to be shared on all rebel media sources and to all factions.

Breakthrough in Aleppo as the Syrian Army captures Khalidiyeh district
>In a major development, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) was able to impose full control over the Khalidiyeh neighbourhood and most of the Al-Layramoun Industrial Area this evening after fierce urban clashes with Islamist insurgents defending the districts. A military source in the area confirmed to Al-Masdar News that elements of the SAA’s 4th Divison and the Republican Guards had cleared the final rebel-held buildings in Khalidiyeh while simoultaniously taking control of Layramoun’s gas factory, market, and glass factory. This represents the largest single advance inside Aleppo for years; the city has been locked down in a military stalemate since 2014.
>Nevertheless, Islamist rebels are still held up at Layramoun’s bus station while the SAA has fire control over the Layramoun roundabout, a site just 50 meters from the nearest SAA positions in the area. Effectively, government troops at Layramoun are just 2500 meters from linking up with the SAA’s Tiger Forces in northern Aleppo.
>Notably, the Al-Layramoun neighbourhood also borders the Castillo road which is now under fire control from two separate flanks. Meanwhile, these advances also relieve pressure on the SAA’s Tiger Forces on the northern Aleppo outskirts – their positions at the Al-Mallah farms have been under daily jihadist attacks over the past week.
>The Tiger Forces, Syria’s most elite assault troops, have been tasked with capturing the Castello road. Colonel Suheil al-Hassan will lead the Tiger Forces’ charge to take the imperative highway. Formerly, the Castello road served as the last supply line to thousands of Islamist insurgents in Aleppo along with some 250,000 civilians now trapped inside the city.

>>80895465
The rebels never even had a chance.
You can't win a large-scale battle with no air support, against a side with strong air support.
It's Turkish retard tactics, the Russians raped them yet again.
>Colonel Suheil al-Hassan will lead the Tiger Forces’ charge to take the imperative highway.
>>80895672
Are you asking why it will take so long? Because there are many residential buildings. In Al Laymaroun it wasn't so difficult because the industrial buildings are pretty big and not so complex.

Russia deserves Constantinople the most, when it comes to merit alone. They would've taken it in the Crimean War, if not for British and French intervention. And Russian could easily take it right now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_War
The only reason Greece should even get a part is because it used to be Greek. But it was also far less developed back then.
I don't understand the Aleppo offensive. Sure, they can besiege the rebels and keep them in, but then how do they get them out? Wouldn't it create another pocket where nobody can advance for years at a time?
>>80895465
Wouldn't pushing to that Kurd enclave and cutting Aleppo there be better? Or do they want to cut more territory off?
>>80896057
Lack of supplies, lack of air support, lack of heavy artillery. Pretty much a lack of everything will result in that outcome.

Things change. All sorts of things can happen. A few years ago nobody would've believed Russia would annex Crimea, and yet, here we are now.
>>80896144
Look at this map >>80896057
I think is better to wipe out all lands and siege rebels in pockets. Going to Anadan Plains, close the borders with Turkey for me have top priority
>>80896475
Annexing "neutral" territory (with Russian military already on it anyway) is one thing
Attacking NATO, quite another
Yet the point is well taken, maybe we will finally kick Turkey out and then Russia will steamroll them

Baking new bread
>>80895672
Because it shortens the frontline and leaves one less flank to defend against.
>>80896122
>And Russian could easily take it right now.
I don't think so. Time and time again you see that modern cities are essentially large concrete fortifications, Istanbul has more than 14 million people, Turkey will have naval cover as well because russian black sea fleet is garbage. The only way for Russia to take it is to unload all soviet rocket supplies at it's western part and kill millions of people but it's a political suicide.
>>80897336
>Turkey will have naval cover as well because russian black sea fleet is garbage.
what? It's orders of magnitude better than anything turkey has to offer.
>>80897336
>Time and time again you see that modern cities are essentially large concrete fortifications
And huge liabilities! Russia just needs to take the outskirts and let the civilians starve - unless they leave the city ofc.
Once the civilians leave, the can flatten all military inside the city, with almost no civilian casualties. Constantinople (unlike many landlocked cities) is very easy to blockade
>>80897645
You talk about stuff you know nothing about, black sea fleet is the only russian fleet that received no renovation in the last 20 years, there are almost no rocket ships and big ships, on the other side Turkey's fleet in Istanbul has a lot of big modern ships.
>>80896015
