Seriously, independent of your views on the party it's genius:
It's a saltire
It's a thistle
It's the eponymous clootie dumpling pudding.
It's easy to draw and memorize unlike any of the other logos. A child could draw this thing.

By far and away one of the best UK party logos in /gd/ terms.

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worth of being saved.

I don't think so. I think it's just because it looks distinct.

For a bit in the late 90s and early 2000s they experimented with colouring it differently because their research showed women really didn't like it (because Yellow and Black are "warning" colours as seen on wasps, etc.)

http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/hue-and-cry-to-put-snp-in-new-shade-1-1375336

Which also touches on the fascinating voting habits of women.
>The SNP is concerned that around 9% fewer women vote for the party than men.

As seen in pic related, the logo is blue. (Also, I love that the SNP used "YES WE CAN!" in 1997, long before Obama made it a meme.)

Edited Plan to fix Britain:

>REMAIN a monarchy
>STILL name ourselves the UK
>BUT, along with a Prime Minister and a Queen, have a Lord Protector who takes over all of the traditional monarchs powers
>10 year terms
>Will appoint the Governments of each countries at will, decide Election Dates but have relatively less power elsewhere
>MMP system
>Large House of Commons, 10 MPs per million population (650 right now)
>Small House of Lords, 1 per million population (65 right now)
>HoL will have much more power than right now, can stand against the HoC
>Will be mostly elected, but will reserve positions for some very prominent people
>Keep peerages, but remove any Hereditary appointments
>They will serve as special advisers to the Houses
>Implement a written constitution, containing all of the generic stuff
>100% Parliamentary Democracy, absolutely NO plebiscite trash like referenda, and we cannot give up our sovereignty to intranational bodies like the EU
>National and Regional Governments and Parliaments for the entire nation and each constituent country
>No regional Party allowed in the National governments
>And no National Party allowed in the Regional governments
>Make secession illegal
>To strengthen ties between the nation, spread the separation of powers
>National Parliament (legislature) in London, England
>National Government (executive) in Edinburgh, Scotland
>National Courts (Judiciary) in Cardiff, Wales
>Place a focus on retaining British cultural heritage
>Important Church of England
>Small migration
>Nationalise only natural monopolies like railways and mines
>Economy of wellfare capitalism, so we don't go full socialism but our people don't die from hospital debt

>>
>At every Parliament meeting, have the Politicians first sing the national anthem of their constituent country, and then all together sing the entire countries national anthem (Probably something like Rule, Britannia
>Radical overhaul in foreign policy
>Shift away from the USA to pursue good relations with all countries
>Kick out their bases and troops from all British Territory
>Replace the American controlled Trident with a tiny nuclear force, and use the saved money on our conventional forces
>Intervene in no wars with sovereign states(no disastrous illegal wars like Iraq), but commit fully against non sovereign bodies(Troops against ISIS)

Just saying mate, if you're not going to intervene in foreign wars then it's beyond stupid to scale up conventional forces at the cost of nukes, only relatively small forces are needed if you're only going to be defending in wars, nukes are much more useful for defence as no one is going to wage aggressive war on you if they know you can wipe out their major cities at the press of a button. Much better to scale back conventional forces, scale up nuclear arms if you're not going to be interventionalist.

Note, I'm not trying to propagandise for the SNP here (That'd be a waste of time.), just bring up embarrassing things from Scottish Labour's history because they're quite amusing, especially in light of the pending Blairite purge.

Especially when you compare how slick the SNP campaign machine is nowadays when they're still just a relatively wee Scottish party (v.s. Scottish Labour who notionally have the whole UK behind them, but really are and always were an overlooked branch-office.)

There hasn't been a single realistic proposal for something cheaper that does the same job, if you aren't gonna suggest one then remove it next time you post

Also I don't get your idea behind house of Lords reform? Why let them directly stand against the Commons when that will just cause gridlock?

Having a large amount of Lords is good as they have a wide range of skills and expertise and with a few hundred of them they can effectively operate all the scrutinising committees

Less than 2 months.

She said something about commitment issues and it was kind of abrupt, so I'm guessing she had some nigger dick on the side.

UKIP only got 3.9% or something in 2010. Of course the majority of their support had to have come from other parties.

A little after, Teresa May will go the Queen and accept the job.

It's not members though. It's voters. (At least that's my interpretation.)

i.e. a big chunk of UKIP's new support from after 2010 were disaffected 2010 Conservatives. a big chunk of new Green support disaffected lib-dems, and so on.

The SNP chunk being as much Lib-Dem as Labour seems suspect, but I suppose Labour areas contained the most non-voters.

Cameron's last PMQs is tomorrow noon, after which she will go to Buckingham Palace to tender his resignation, then May will be sworn in with a new cabinet and get to work, presumably announcing that Brexit department she has been setting up and the business of government will continue as usual and we get to watch Labour continue to burst into flames.

Ukip didn't really have a big media presence in 2010

Nige wasn't leader for the election, the bnp were the talked about anti immigration party, they were still claiming to be libertarian with policies like the flat tax that they scrapped for 2015

Youre an absolutely mong if genuinly think everyone who voted for UKIP in 2015 never voted for anyone else before that...
>>
>>80778395
>>80778260
Not everybody in the country is a member of a party.....

And the members of the Greens and UKIP (and probably the Lib Dems) would never vote anything other than their party. And the Tories and Labour members would vote for their party too, probably at like 95%+.

Are we really supposed to believe that the majority of SNP voters didn't vote for the SNP? And that a quarter of UKIP voted for Lab or LD?

That seems like absolute bollocks to me and there is no way the people who made that poll could even know that. It's a nonsense aimed to make the smaller parties look weak.

Well, it's a chart for Westminster and it covers 2010 > 2015
Scotland's change would align well with that chart.

SNP having almost zero Conservative is unsurprising (Bona-Fide Tartan Tories would've been SNP long before 2010.), the Greens having some is a bit surprising although I suppose David Cameron pretending to be a nice guy for a while (Cycling to No. 10 and such) could've encouraged a few to give him a go.

It's honestly wonderful to watch the SNP and follow their history.

Regardless of feeling on the constitution itself, watching them rise up against Scottish Labour and eventually defeat it is brilliant. Especially towards the end, Scottish Labour were a terrible force on Scottish politics. The warning signs were always there, but Scottish Labour couldn't listen. Then suddenly in one night in 2015. That was it. People had enough, and Scottish Labour died.

(Also the Scottish Lib-Dems, who were just as if not even more deserving, though I've a soft spot for Willie Rennie until he opens his mouth.)

His home constituency voted lLave 67%. The real interesting stat (that I can't find anywhere) is how many of the oldsters who voted OUT were former "flower children, May 68er" types and how many were the silent majority in the 60s who stood fuming as the Jews and their camp followers turned the nation upside down.

Still cannot believe Blair had the balls to show his face and write an op-ed in the NYT about a situation entirely of his making.

It looks like Labour is truly finished, bc now they have too many "heroic liberal University champions of the downtrodden," but no "White downtrodden" want to vote for any of them, they're on to the scam at last.

Not happy that May isn't calling a snap general (which she's not doing because UKIP would make huge gains all over, possibly even surpassing Labour as the official opposition and taking a nice chunk out of the tories too). I think the pressure is going to build to where May has to call a snap general eventually as it gets worse (the EU bankster globalist scum aren't going to let us get out that easily or everyone else will be following).

These are glorious times in Brit politics. Kosher apples rolling in the streets.
