The treasury and the BoE are both capable of producing independent forecasts. They had a unified forecast of prophetic doom. The IMF and other third party institutions had differing forecasts. None of them said Brexit would be a good thing, but they all disagreed on the extent of the risk.
The treasury select committee (with Mogg on it) accused Carney of pushing a political agenda by collaborating with Osborne on their forecasts.

Only shared responsibility will be foreign policy, defence and immigration

The United Kingdom should become a republic, annex the rest of Ireland and rename itself the United Republic of Great Britain and Ireland ('UR' for short), with a Constitution/Bill of Rights like they have in America (including freedom of speech and gun rights, like they have in America). Monarchism is leftist-tier cuckoldry, it's an antiquated system of inherited privilege. We can codify our constitution in our current system. There's nothing to stop Parliament from passing a bill of rights with a provision that it can only be repealed or altered by way of referendum (or some other mechanism to entrench the legislation). They can also create a provision giving the courts the power to strike down subsequent acts of parliament which contradict these rights.
The problem is we'd be trusting the current shower of shit in Westminster to draft our fundamental rights. Can you really imagine gun rights even having popularity in the UK? I certainly can't.
>>80727001
He's right though, Corbyn isn't remotely posh. Compare him to Mogg.

no point trying to convince you
So what's the future of this thread going to be?
Obviously it was generated for Brexit.
Will the painfully slow Brexit negotiations and Labour leadership shenanigans be able to sustain it through summer?
>>80725986
So what are these reasons other than "muh feels".
The economic reasons for keeping it are actually disrespectful as the justification there is that they are essentially the same as a monkey in a cage that people pay to see.
I actually think the monarchy will likely go not by any sort of force but some future king will say fuck this. I am out. I cannot justify my position and I was never asked to be in it. In fact people will try to force them to stay in which would be wholly unjustifiable as well.
>>80727301
You have no idea what you're talking about.
>>80727205
>The German finance minister admitted that he just said what Osbourne asked him in his Brexit threat speech.
Did we ever come to a conclusion that Obama did the same, but with Cameron's help? When he said we'd go to the back of the 'queue', when Americans do not use that word, I couldn't help but think that line was fed to him.
>>80725373
May isn't Thatcher 2.0 by any stretch of the imagination. For example, May is for meddling with private companies ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36760953 ) and is pro-feminism and believes in the wage gap. Thatcher loathed feminism even before its current incarnation. Thatcher would have been anti-censorship too, probably.

you don't get it, just like labour doesn't get it.

I don't see any reason to remove them, economic or otherwise. They will remove themselves when they want to, but they are popular, so I doubt we will see that in our lifetime.

Federalism would do nothing to stop the march of Scottish nationalism whatsoever. There's a reason that until recently "Devo Max" was SNP policy.
>>80725188
Scotland hasn't been a scrounger until quite recently.
>inb4 muh darien.
I'm not a bloody Scot.
That said
>>80725299
You don't need to preserve it as it is now.
The union could become like the commonwealth, where Scotland is independent but within a maintained union (especially as SNP policy is to keep the monarchy) which ultimately does nearly nothing. (Maybe handles some border stuff because Scotland will want to be in a common travel area.)
I think May might be a little bit autistic, it's kind of cute.

The argument is moral or just on principle. Practically everything the cuckservatives argue today is inconsistent with also arguing that the monarchy should exists.

Monarchs have stepped down before, it just goes to the next in line, it`ll always be there if it`s up to the Royal family, the same way your family still exists and your father didn`t waste everything on hookers and drugs.
More than that in Royalties` case, as they have a duty to serve the nation from birth.
>>80727858
So parliament owns it all.
>>80725011
Federalism is bad when you have scotland being so anti-union
>>80728053
I've seen this image so many times along with the George Osborne one.
What exactly is the context, why were the standing in that awkward pose?
>>80728104
They really could.
They wouldn't be as rich as they are now on current outlook, spending cuts would be inevitable but they could certainly last, especially in the long term.
>>80728052
This is the house he grew up in and not many middle class people go to private school, only about 5% of the total population go to them

With oil basically dropped off, and their deficit sitting at 3 times the entire UK, as well as them not having an official government setup, requiring government to begin from the ground up, no military etc, so after all that, the long term they may last, but they will want back in due to poor living conditions. We will see companies leave, especially defence contractors who need to stay within Five-Eyes/Five Nations countries.
Has anyone seen this pornsite called BLACKED.com?
Makes me really angry. Fuck I want to rape these sluts for fucking niggers.

Finally some positive news from Britain.
Also why are Scottish politicians so based? That's Berlusconi level of bantz:
"Everyone else in UK politics is either resigning, getting knifed, bottling it, withdrawing, failing, declaring, or falling on their sword.
I think the mad thing in all of the last few weeks is that the last man standing is Jeremy Corbyn. Although I am pleased that the PLP is about to show how united they are by putting forward a second unity candidate against the first.
That’s the difference between our two parties - Labour is still fumbling with its flies while the Tories are enjoying their post-coital cigarette. After withdrawing our massive Johnson."
>>80728309

>>80728435

>>80728172
And I wonder what would happen if that happened to such an extent that a foreign monarch became next in line.
That is even how the union started. The Scottish King was next in line for the English throne. Yet people go on as if it was England that force Scotland into a Union.
>>80728463
They can attach qualifiers to their right to change it. It's called entrenched legislation. We have legislation on the statute books now which prevents further transfers of power to the EU without a referendum for instance.
