Also, did ISIS bomb Saudi, false flags or a third option?:
>Suicide blast outside Prophet's Mosque in Madinah: Saudi media
>The sprawling mosque where the Prophet Muhammad is buried is visited by millions of Muslims from around the world each year during pilgrimages to Makkah. The area would have been teeming with pilgrims for prayer during the final days of Ramadan, which ends this week.
>Two other bombers blew themselves up earlier Monday on opposite sides of the kingdom, which has previously been targeted by Daesh terror group..

A little inside information without being able to disclose more:
During the past five+ years of the Syrian war, the enemy focused on stretching the Syrian Armed Forces over several fronts at the same time.
The Syrian command never gave the enemy the initiative, and never gave orders based on the enemies moves; yet, had a plan and stuck to it.
Without being able to specify more, soon, their plan will backfire, and will blow in their faces.

BREAKING: "The Tiger eats his fill"
Russian cruise missile obliterates rebel TOW storage base in western Aleppo
https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/russian-cruise-missile-obliterates-rebel-tow-storage-base-western-aleppo/ | Al-Masdar News
>The Russian military relies heavily on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) Tiger Forces to carry out long-range missile attacks and airstrikes – in fact, Major General Suheil al-Hassan himself was said to have instructed tonight’s pinpoint attack, according to the military source.
>>79804708
Looks like an ordinary T-72 underneath to me. Soviet build quality isn't so great and it's an image that Russia has had to shed.
Kontakt-1 bricks are everywhere too, isn't that hard to get them. Russia may have provided them through the Voentorg (Novorossiya equivalent of the Syrian Express).
Here is another picture of the tank
Look at this beautiful weather over Syria.
It's the perfect time for airstrikes.
I heard that the Admiral Kuznetsov is offshore from Syria, or will soon be. This would have been great news, if not for the fact that the Admiral Kuznetsov's air component and the carrier itself wasn't really built for land bombardment.
The carrier, however, carries its own battery of Supersonic Cruise Missiles, I think, of the Granit family, but since that is an Anti ship missile, it won't be seeing much use, I predict.
The Admiral Kuznetsov's presence in the area will make Turkey's already blue balls even bluer, as, if nothing else, its entire fighter complement can perform maximum efficiency the air-to-air role, possibly relieving the Hmeimmim based fighters of that mission and allowing them to operate, once again, at 100% bombing efficiency, as with the opening month of the intervention.
Pictured is the Admiral Kuznetsov. As you can see, it is a dwarf in comparison to US Supercarriers, and its most notable feature, its ramp, suggests that its aircrafts cannot be fully loaded with heavy ground ordinance.
>>79805628
wish we had that kind of weather 2bh
its shit over here
>>79807054
I like rainy, even stormy weather than blistering heat, desu, Even outside of summer, those two seem to be the only weather we get nowadays. Cool, no-rain, overcast days are best, but are rarer than a non-proxy rare flag
>>79806275
Latest reports actually say that the Admiral Kuznetsov will be deployed from October 2016 to January 2017.
http://tass.ru/armiya-i-opk/3424393
The MiG-29K arm on the carrier actually solve the problem of not being able to carry AG ordinance unlike the Su-33s which are also carried. So the presence of the Admiral Kuznetsov should be a nice force multiplier for the Russian forces already there.
Anyway good night /sg/.

Very nice
>>79807818
Good night
>>79807818
Sleep tight.
Sticking to the Admiral Kuznetsov, its main problem is that it doesn not have a catapult, and relies on its ramp instead. It was certainly enough for the much lighter, soviet era warplanes to fly out with their maximum load, but new and powerful MiG 29 and SU-33 can carry MUCH more, but are not able to go out at full load due to weight restrictions. They simply cannot take off with such a short runway, ramp or not, if they are armed to the teeth, as they could be if, say, there were based in Hmeimmim.
I also wonder if or when the Kweires base can actually be opened? Even just as a helicopter base, it would be an amazing asset for Aleppo. But as an airport for fighters, it will allow round the clock CAS in Aleppo and even semi-efficient SU-24/35 bombing runs in Deir Ezzor and that important road to Taqaba and, utimately, Raqqa.

Pics will be posted
>>79812323
Noice.
I also have heard this news. Basically, the new outfit will make it into a more conventional modern carrier. The Granit tubes and ammo stores will be removed and a catapult will be added.
>>79803858
Sauce?
>>79808414
> SU-33 can carry MUCH more, but are not able to go out at full load due to weight restrictions
do they need to go fully loaded?
Just got up for a glass of milk and I wanted to quickly check in.
>>79808414
That's the reason why MiG-29Ks were bought after India chose them for their new aircraft carrier. It was chosen so the Kuznetsov could have an air wing capable of fulfilling roles that US carrier aircraft also do, mainly bombing. The Su-33 is practically only there to defend the fleet and the carrier itself.
Don't expect catapults on the carrier too, that is asking for major redesigns of the ship and expensive upgrades of the aircraft themselves. At that point, it is better to just build a new carrier which Russia will soon.

>Are the Turks really going to open up an airbase for Russia to use?
From the article it seems so, yes
>Mevlut Cavusoglu moved to clarify his position after appearing to suggest in an interview with TRT television Sunday that Turkey could let Moscow use the southern Incirlik base.
>“That’s not what I said,” Cavusoglu said on television Monday, saying his comments had been misinterpreted by the press.
>“I said we were ready were cooperate with everyone in the fight against ISIL.” Cavusoglu had said in the TRT interview:
>“We have opened the Incirlik air base to those who want to participate in the fight against Daesh. So why not cooperate with Russia in the same way?”
>Also, why the swift change in attitude towards the Russians?
Read the article again mate, it says so in it
>Moscow and Ankara plunged into a diplomatic crisis in November when Turkey shot down one of Russia’s military jets on the Syrian border.
>But over the last week they have announced a bid to repair ties, with Russia set to lift punishing economic sanctions on Turkey.
>>79817622
I just found it a bit odd, that's all. I mean it's pretty well known that Turkey profits big time from the terrorist groups other than Daesh so it just came as a bit of a surprise to me when I heard the news since it's also well known that Russia has objectives in Syria that will not only heavily conflict with those of Turkey but also the whole rest of the US-led coalition present in the base.
I don't think they're at all serious about this cooperation. They just want the sanctions lifted and no actual actions taken against the people they've pumped so much support and money into.

>>79827717

That would make sense
the rebels basically wouldnt have any manpads
If Turkey had never tolerated jihadists crossing the border, jihadi manpower would be much lower

That's why the jihadists are putting such strong defense there, remember how fast the SAA took Al-Bahariyah just in a matter of days and Al-Bahariyah is bigger than Maydaa
>>79833059
Yes because SAA took the hill near Al Bahariyan. If you have fire control over a terrain, the enemy must retreat.
That's also why government troops had to retreat from Kinsabba.

I read that they support the rebels by training them and giving aid / treating the wounded, is it true?

at first yes , Jordan admitted of supporting a couple of groups , not all of them though , then we switched to a neutral position regarding the matter
and they help all the wounded from either sides , not anymore though , because last month they decided to close the borders

Awesome. Good to see that Russia is flexing some power projection muscles lately.
I just hope that they will be able to find a way to cut the supply of bad guys pouring into the region.
From my limited lurking around here (sorry for being new) it seems like the rebels are losing ground but if they just can replace their loses it will be one long conflict.

Russian Air Force begins using parachute bombs in northern Aleppo: video
The Russian Air Force has begun to consistently use parachute bombs in the northern Aleppo countryside after recent trials proved to be incredibly effective upon impact. A military source in the Aleppo Governorate told Al-Masdar News on Tuesday that these bombs will be used more often by the Russian Air Force in order to destroy jihadist tunnels. During previous bombing campaigns, the Russian Air Force found that their other bombs were not creating the kind of impact needed to penetrate the jihadist tunnels. On Tuesday, the Russian Air Force pounded the jihadist stronghold of Hayyan in northern Aleppo, utilizing these parachute bombs to destroy specific underground fortifications. The town of Hayyan is considered the gateway to the ‘Anadan Plains of northwest Aleppo; it is also located near the Rityan axis that is currently under the control of the Syrian Armed Forces.

>find a way to cut the supply of bad guys pouring into the region
Well this is indeed a vital point. Lets hope Turkey will come to their senses and seal the Idlib border, sometime.
Its funny how the western media is almost 100% silent about the flow of jihadists through Turkey to al-Nusra & Ahrar al-Sham. Meanwhile everybody talks about Jihadists going to ISIS.
ISIS must be the best thing to happen to Nusra, Ahrar and other moderate headchoppers: it keeps the attention away from their (largely similar to ISIS-)activities, it keeps Assad busy on all fronts and it even manages to allow the USA to not consider Ahrar al-Sham terrorists and arm/fund al-Nusra's direct allies because everyone looks better in comparison with ISIS.
>>79848141
What's so special about parachute bombs? Why are they more effective?
Also in a video some parachute bombs exploded already in the air.

They are using FAB-500 SHN with a parachute. No idea why tho. Maybe for civilians to have time to escape.

>>79849503
Yeah but then they're using a different bomb. The blast shouldn't really be affected by a parachute.
>>79849550
>Did something shoot downwards when it did?
I didn't see something like that, but it seemed like parachute cluster bombs and a few of them exploded in the air
>>79850096
Ah, what's the general attitude towards Assad in Jordan? It's almost too neutral, could that be because Jordan is full of many arabs from different parts of the Arab World? Iraqis, Saudis, Palestinians and now Syrians?

>>79848141
Parachute bombs are usually penetrators.
>>79849550
>Did something shoot downwards when it did?
Either a betab-500 or a cluster bomb
>>79850538
>I didn't see something like that
Hmm.... I was thinking it was like a Durandal maybe, but if not, then nevermind.
The parachute stabilization probably just helps the bomb dig in better. I noticed that the parachutes in most of the videos don't seem to slow them down very much, and are rather smallish.
Just wait till the Twitter shills, MSM and Ken Roth hear about this!!!!
>"Russians massacre Aleppo civilians with DEADLY WHITE BLUE RED PHOSHOPROUS THERMITE SARIN CLUSTER CRUISE PARACHUTES OF DOOM" says SOHR, HRW, HNC, Adel al-Jubeir & John Kirby - THEY CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS, ASSAD MUST GO
>>79850018
It's ment to slow down the bomb so when it's dropped from low flying aircraft the plane itself doesn't get peppered by shrapnel.
>>79850827
The parachute is actually there to slow the bomb enough so that the plane that released it has enough time to get away from the explosion, since they are often meant to be released at low altitude.
The betab-500 for example is meant for airfield/runway destruction.
>>79850018
parachute bombs are used for low-altitude bombing to slow the fall and and for non-contact undermining.
>>79851098
I was about to say. That, and just stabilisation.
Now that Hillary has been confirmed to be the next president of the USA, do you think Assad and co. can win it in the ~5 months that they have left?
>>79851098
But why would they need to do that when they are flying high because of manpads? Penetrator bombs would have smaller chutes just to make sure they are facing down when ignited.
>>79848532
That is true. They basically operate under the radar due to the lack brand recognition. And well the media is not good for making balanced and well researched stuff about this conflict.
>>79851098
I think this factor in this case is not the most important, the main thing is the ability to better control, undermining time, snortling bomb exploded over the target, (a timer or a special "leader-tourniquet")
>>79851299
There aren't bombs with big chutes.
Hell the US used pieces of metal to retard their bombs.
It needs to give the aircraft just enough time to get away, but still be fast enough so that it doesn't get blown off course, or the enemy has enough time to runaway.
>>79853288
http://www.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/air-strikes/parachute-bombs-dropped-on-damascus/2180688120001
I'd say that's a big chute, considering the bomb weghts at least 500kg.
>>79853816
That's a pretty small chute though.
I mean look how big a parachute needs to be to make a person fall slow.
>>79854138

Drag is proportional to the square of speed, so yes. It would need to be bigger.

It seems wierd why would they wait so long, but then I remembered, Russia has parliamentary elections in September. Vlad's party is expected to win another mandate with a comfy mayority (55% - 60%), so right after that they can intensify their engagement again.

It's not too neutral , people generally dislike alassad, at first people sided with the rebels , but what happened later when el nusra and ISIS and Saudi backed rebels started involving - and the fact that what was rebellion turned into a civil war - made a lot of people re-think what is happening
Most of us just don't know what is right or wrong of what is happening in Syria , even Syrians here - who lived here before the war even started - don't have a defined idea of Whom to support
Also the fact that there is a lot of Lebanese , Syrians , Iraqis , Saudis and Palestinians in Jordan made the general public don't care about what is happening there

> You swear that the general population of Jordan dictate foreign policy, or anything what the dictatorship does.
I didn't say that , the general population is affected by the media , and you know better that the most of the arabian media ( like aljazeera ) loathes al assad and the shita in general , you don't realize how much these ""unbiased"" arabian channels do in order to show alassad as the bad person
> Jordan betrayed the Arab and Muslim world in 1967 by siding with Israel and it betrayed it again by siding against Syria.
Jordan didn't betray syria and egypt , Our king didn't think that we can beat Israel , So the jordanians didn't do much - since the king believed that we're going to lose anyway
that is combined with the fact that king Hussein didn't trust abd el nasser for many reasons

US MQ-9 Reaper drone crashes in northern Syria
A US drone operating as part of the so-called coalition against Daesh (ISIL) in Syria has crashed in the north of the country.
The United States military MQ-9 Reaper drone was engaged in a combat mission Tuesday when it came down.
The US Air Force made the announcement, further asserting that the drone was not hit by Daesh terrorists and not captured by them following the crash.
"The MQ-9 was destroyed by coalition aircraft and is not in enemy hands," the Air Force said, adding that an investigation was underway for more details regarding the accident.

>Suicide bombing kills at least 16 in northeast Syria - monitor
A suicide bomb blast killed at least 16 people in the mostly Kurdish-controlled city of Hasaka in northeastern Syria on Tuesday, the monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The attacker detonated his explosives at a bakery. The British-based observatory said several other people were wounded and the death toll was likely to rise because of the number of serious injuries
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
Islamic State has targeted areas of Hasaka province in the past, including another city, Qamishli. But bomb attacks in Hasaka city itself have been rarer in recent months.
