Big senate white paper you can do 1-100 if you want. Suggested is preference the minor parties you like then the major parties after that.
Eg. 1 LDP, 2 LNP
Or 1 LDP 2 Katter 3 Shooters and fishers, 4 LNP 5 Labor 6 Greens.
Up to you when your senate vote expires but generally you want your minor party to try and get a seat and if they dont then a major party gets it after that or it expires after whatever number.

I walked down to the local school where I always vote and it was busier than I have ever seen it before. Had to wait about fifteen minutes to get inside. Everyone was really laid back though, with the people handing out the voting guides all happily chatting to each other regardless of party affiliation and not aggressively pushing their shit on those walking past. There was a super qt manning the ballot box too.
Only downside was somewhere along the line I lost my pen and had to vote with the provided pencil like a cuck.

There's nothing "Wrong" with Xenophon. He's a pretty decent guy and it's good to have a strong independent opposition with some political weight to throw around. /pol/ will always meme like champs when it comes to muh freedoms but the reality is both major parties are almost interchangeable at this point. Both have protected and continue to protect corrupt fuckers like Feeney and Sinodinos, both parties have leadership spill shenanigans, both parties have no strong stance on climate change or same sex marriage. The best thing you can do is vote for a smaller party with strong ethical commitments, people might say Katter and Lambie are bigots but at least they have a fucking spine.
