Buying productive assets is risky. Their value can decline if they are not well managed. If they are well managed, they will enrich far more people than just the owner.
Also, competition ensures that if your margins ever get too juicy, other people will step in and undercut you.
People get so butthurt over the idea of inherited wealth, but without it we'd lose the biggest incentive for people to spend their lives working hard even when they are already comfortable.

Additionally, the Dems don't focus on wanting to help the underemployed, they focus on those who don't have jobs, and their solution is not to provide them with jobs.
