I wouldn't want to come across as paranoid, but I have noticed that when I post more 'sensitive' threads they will drop to page six or higher in less than 15 seconds.
When I post a lighthearted thread, even with no replies or bumps, they will drop slowly and steadily. A more organic progression if you will.
Perhaps another forum sliding mechanism.
