In fact I think the real reason both of the new parties have gotten so BTFO is on first round people gave them actual confidence votes so they start the "new age of dialogue" they talked about so much. Of course they did nothing a lot of voters just said fuck it.
The PP has a lot of problems, just like PSOE, because it's an old party and it has a lot of economic ties to important companies. Since nepotism is rampant in this country that means you have a ton of thieving and corruption.
However their economic measures are very sound and indeed helped the country recover during the past three years.
Other problems they have is being pretty pro EU and having little to no charisma, which doesn't help when the rest blame them for everything including the football team losing. They're easy look at as "the others" and "the old fucks" and take a lot of flak for it.

The real problem of "Podemos" is not it became "No podemos" party.
C's, PP, PSOE, they are all proEU as fuck, and state they will do the EU policies, straight.
Podemos used to say: we're going to do something else, at least to try it. But now they are "we can't do this, we can't do that, we can't get out of EU but, honest, I'll do my best to change EU".
That's precisely what's consistently failed since EU creation.
So Podemos is one battle late. the day they will re-state "yes, we can do something EU will not like at all", they'll be re-considered seriously.
