This is what I am waiting for. I am very eager to hear her words.
>Cameron
“I was absolutely clear about my belief that Britain is stronger, safer and better off inside the EU,” he said. “I made clear the referendum was about this, and this alone, not the future of any single politician, including myself.
But the British people made a different decision to take a different path. As such I think the country requires fresh leadership to take it in this direction.”
Notice he never says that we're going to leave the EU, just "a different direction"
>Boris
"Boris Johnson, the former mayor of London and a leading leave campaigner, said there should be “no haste” in the preparations for the exit of Britain"
>EU
“It is a historic moment, but not a moment for hysterical reactions,”
>Merkel
"expressed “great regret” at Britain’s decision, but said the EU should not draw “quick and simple conclusions” that might create new and deeper divisions."
The plans for more and more renegotiation resulting in us staying in the EU are being draw up as we speak
>>78624408
>isn't democracy great
This is exactly how I feel, and exactly why I can't understand the remain campaigners complaining about old people not having to live with the consequences. In a democracy power comes with accountability, it allows you to control your own country. If these people get old and still think like they do now, at 18-25 (they won't) then they can use their democratic vote to change it.
I like the saying
>if you're not liberal by 20 you have no heart
>if you're not conservative by 30 you have no brain
I'm glad my liberal phase was gone by the time I could vote and had to worry about my own finances.

Actually they will. Baby boomers are still by and large jeans-wearing utopian liberals and haven't changed their beliefs much since their 1970s youths. The saying has become history since the 1960s.

Was not expecting C1 to be Leave, was not expecting the age switch to be at 45 (rather I was expecting higher).
We liekly won due to voter turnout being skewed massively toward the elderly, so when some whinging liberal cunt complains about it, ask them if they voted, and if they told their friends to vote, if they so no then they have ABSOLUTELY no fucking right to complain about a referendum result.
>>78624825
>staying in the EU
Will they risk this and enflame the leave voters or will they'll choose a middle ground?
Pulling a 'Norway' could let them say we left but functionally a lot of it would still be in.

I convinced my whole family to leave and posted as much pro-leave material on Twitter, Facebook, and various forums/news comment sections as I possibly could. The lefty tears were hilarious at first but they are getting a bit tedious now.

It's always annoying when you enjoy a peice of media (book, movie, video game, etc) and then find out retroactively that the creator or creators were actually far-leftists the whole time. There is a mild sense of betrayal to it. Like "I liked you, why do you want to hurt me like this?"
I've come to deal with it by just accepting that entertainers are like trained monkeys. They exist for your entertainment. If it agrees without, then it's cool that the monkey is on your side. If it doesn't, then it's just a fucking monkey.

Deluded to think a monarch is "wing" sure she is a bit less right wing than other monarchs that's not saying a lot though. She is obliged to follow Parliament in doing the best for her subjects. Right, left or middle. I share in your concern about this becoming a token for the parties to pass about. Political parties need to come out and say how they are going to deal with the split. There is an obvious divide in the country that isn't covered by the current political establishments
>>78626959
No we really haven't. I think this is a big step in reclaiming the name Great Britain, too. We were never really in the EU, and we never really wanted to be. Eventually we'd have to choose if we went Schengen and Euro Zone and if that vote was held today it would lose by a LOT more than 52/48. We have a bitter history with the Germans and the Spanish, we're not too fond of the French, Holland is politically irrelevant (to us) and Belgium turned their back on us despite everything we've done for them. Being in the EU forced us to cut ties with Norway and Iceland, Sweden is fucked, Finland is basically Russio-China and the rest of the EU is basically just annoying people we can't understand who tuk are jerbs. The only country I personally actually like in Europe is Portugal and look what the EU has done to them.
>>78627498
>There is an obvious divide in the country that isn't covered by the current political establishments
Agreed, and this is what Peter Hitchens tried to make clear on the news this morning. The real divide in this country is no longer between economic liberalism and protectionism, it's between social conservatives and social liberals.

>Me, dad, and mom at dinner
>Mom: Anon, did you here what happened in England?
>Me: Yes, they left the European Union.
>Mom: Well, why would they do that?
>Me: because they were unhappy with some of the rules that the EU has in place and they want to try to get a better deal working outside of Europe
>Dad: Well, that's part of it, but the ordinary sort of person doesn't think like that. What I think is mainly motivating this is that people over there are anxious about immigration. I mean, you have Muslims coming in from Syria and trying to invoke their laws in Britain
>Mom (mildly angry): That's silly. I'm sorry but if you come to a modern nation you need to grow up and follow modern rules. I would absolutely hate to have to wear a bag over my head all the time.
>Dad: Yes, it's a growing problem. I've even had people tell me that their are places in the UK where the Muslims are trying to stop people from holding hands in public. That sort of thing just scares the average person and that's the real motivator behind this.

I once met a dude at college who was weirdly pro-Corbyn. Honestly the only overt SJW I've ever met IRL. And god this guy was annoying. For starters, the only reason I even know he liked Corbyn is because Trudeau came up during a class discussion and he said that he considered Trudeau to be "Right Wing" and that Corbyn was better. He also had this stupid way of twisting EVERYTHING into SJW shit. Example: we were supposed to give a speech on population growth and he made his entire part about North American Indians being killed by early colonists.
Granted, it was an environmental science class that I took for gen ed, so I expected a general SJW feel, but this was the first guy I've ever met who really set off all the alarms.

I don't like the idea of it in principle but the cunts are undeniably a drain on the English and Welsh. The only real reason to not let them go and be independent retards and fail is because losing that much land is a terrible symbolic change of or new found freedom.

>>78633445
For me I see it as this. The older people are the longer they can remember when we weren't in the EU, and the less scared they are by the prospect of leaving. For those who are too young to ever remember us not being in the EU, which was ~50% of the electorate give or take, then it's the fact that they've been around longer when we haven't had such close ties to the EU, such control imposed on us and power taken from us. For kids aged 18-25 (of which I am one) we've never been in a world without the UK being very strongly in the EU and it's scary. I fucking doubted myself a few times I will admit, but I never doubted democracy and sovereignty was the most important thing any Brit has EVER fought for and I knew I would always place my vote to leave. Even now though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the future, especially as I have moved to AUS but my savings are in GBP so I just lost a lot of buying power over here. It's this kind of fear that has overwhelmed a lot of my generation, and the faux claims of racism and xenophobia that overwhelmed the rest. Now they have lost and unlike all their school sports days in the millenials, they don't get a participation trophy they get a well needed kick up the arse. This means they lash out like the bitchy undeveloped children they are and just blame whoever they can, usually it's muh rich people but here it's muh old people.

they received over 4 millions votes at the General Election of 2015. They probably have more actual support than that, and voter turnout was higher and there were more voters at the EU Referendum, so possibly around 4.5 - 5+ million votes came from UKIP.

I have a crazy theory that you bongs might not realize yet.
Maybe through awful examination and meditation, debate and memory, the elders of your country finally thought that maybe leaving ,at first, will be a shock, but that the independence would be their last greatest gift to the next generations.
It's literally saying that you have a choice and democracy more often than not works.
You want in back, fine it's your choice, but remember what we did for you all, and why.
We want you to understand what is to be responsible for yourself and only yourself.
To care about your things and start working because the economical repression will not be kind.
And above all, democracy is the will of the people, and you are the people.
This might be the greatest grandpa lesson ever forged.
>>78634952
I'm pretty sure it's not party members, it's people who voted for UKIP in 2015. This means if you like your local UKIP MP for some unrelated reason and vote for him but still want to go for cheap holidays in France and vote remain then you are one of the 4%.

>>78636868
We don't know the voter turnout skew by party, which was heavy. Pretty much every UKIP voter has been waiting 25 years for this. If UKIP had a voter turnout of 90% but you assumed it was the average of 72% then you couldn't tell shit and the same could be said if Labour had a lower than average voter turnout etc. There's also a large amount of parties in the UK. Combined 'other' gets 5-10% of votes, and that isn't seen here, so would stop you figuring shit all out. Also by finding all those things out and making inferences it would be easier to google the fucking size of UKIP.

So how likely do you guys think there will even be a UK in two years? Are Scotland and Ireland going to be occupied by the military to crush their independence ambitions once and for all?
>>78641974
No, America, why would we want to keep them? They want to stay in the EU.
FUCK OFF EUROPE, WE'RE ENGLAND AND WALES
>>78641974
The SNP will beat their chests but nothing will become of it. The economic case for them is even worse now than before, and even some of the nationalist Scots will be afraid of such an enormous change so soon after this one. They'll just complain like they usually do.
Ireland is out of the question.

I voted Labour in 2015. Voted Leave. Will vote for Labour in 2020 if Corbyn is still leader, otherwise will probably vote TUSC or some meme party.

We have a bit of oil and gas, but we need all of it. We're not a petrostate like Russia or the middle east, we don't have the mines of Australia.
>we don't have much in the way of competitive exports
No, Britain has a laughable trade deficit because we don't make anything anyone actually wants.
>We'll buy your shit if you accept a free trade agreement allowing for the untaxed movement of goods material and financial. If you don't want to trade, fuck off.
Britain would lose out in such a deal with any major trade area. The EU accounts for the lion's share of UK exports, but the reverse is not true. You are ignorant because you get your information from the Sun/Mail.

>You are ignorant because you get your information from the Sun/Mail.
You are ignorant. I read neither of those papers.

i think its more about people having debates the next day and needing to fact check what others were saying.
I was inundated with questions about leave and the EU. I found most Remainers woefully uninformed about the EU. I am in Oxford and these are the responses from doctoral students
>it gives us hoomin rights, without the EU the nastiness of the Tories would ruin this country!
>I can go on holiday without a visa XD
>PEACE
In all other matters on the field we research, they are brilliant. But, they were arguing with me and googling things on their phone because they didn't know how to counter my points.
Satisfaction came when I was told by two people that I had changed their minds over the past few weeks from Remain to Leave

Part 1 is vote leave, part 3 is FIKI FIKI
