Even if Remain wins, the referendum has opened a Pandora's Box for Westminster. Now that there's free debate without (much) repression by the left about immigration and border policy then even a Remain outcome won't change that. Roughly half of the voting population will probably still want out of the EU. Party leaders will be chosen because of whether or not most of their voting members and they agree on the EU.
There's no end to the migrant crisis, Mediterranean Europe unemployment won't get better, there's a Eurozone crisis incoming, the EU is massively in debt and net migration will continue to get oucontrol. Things will not get better in any regard, and if this government doesn't have to have a leadership contest after the result then future ones will as EU crises hit.
This referendum is only the start. If we don't leave then the issue will not be settled in any way. Things would get worse but we won't start accepting migration figures, immigration, or erosion of our sovereignty anymore just because just over half voted for that.
This is even worse if they DIDN'T false flag rig this shit, because it REALLY makes it look like they did, so if Remain now wins, there is going to be a significant section of the population who will understand the event as a Stab-In-The-Back myth whereby Mandelson or whoever and his Bildberberg MKULTRA Rothschild cronies used insane state apparatus to continue wielding power.

An EU army would fail in any case.
Firstly communication is going to be difficult due to language differences, particularly for the nations with fewer english speakers.
Secondly the ability to contribute manpower and materiel is going to be uneven across the EU leading to a couple of countries carrying the bulk of the weight anyway.
Thirdly and most importantly the EU does not really appeal to young men. "Go fight for our multinational empire that wants to replace you with a third world immigrant". No one is going to war for that, they will be scraping the bottom of the barrel for volunteers.
Finally it is the EU, they are going to enforce diversity quotas and other BS. It would likely be an ineffective fighting force anyway.

If Turkey is invaded by Russia, NATO would be obliged to defend them, so you'd end up fighting against British troops if you wanted to fight for Russia even without an EU Army.

That's the civil side of the EU that's using economic measures to coerce member states into action, it's no different from how the USA uses economic sanctions to bully other countries within it's sphere of influence, for example how they shut down Britain and France during the Suez Crisis, which crushed both nation's international reputations far worse than the EU's actions against Greece or their currently unsuccessful attempts against Poland have.
The EU Army concept is literally just a NATO for Europe at the moment, it's not even involving unified equipment or training yet, let alone a fully autonomous armed forces funded by the EU, it's just a natural evolution of the EU Battlegroup model that will allow the EU to present a unified front for security and peacekeeping operation.
Turning sovereign nations into federal states is so far off it's pointless to speculate since the global and European political situation will have changed drastically by then.

>>77687049
Mr Corbyn has expressed Eurosceptic arguments in the past - in 1993, he spoke out against the Maastricht Treaty which established the European Union and moved towards economic and political union.
The treaty, Mr Corbyn said, "takes away from national parliaments the power to set economic policy and hands it over to an unelected set of bankers who will impose the economic policies of price stability, deflation and high unemployment throughout the European Community".
He voted against the Lisbon Treaty in 2008, and in one article on his website, said the EU had "always suffered a serious democratic deficit".

>Firstly communication is going to be difficult due to language differences
Hasn't stopped NATO. Teaching soldiers a lingua franca isn't difficult, look at the FFL, and only senior officers need to be bilingual. EU Battlegroups are national, individual soldiers don't need to all speak multiple languages.
>Secondly the ability to contribute manpower and materiel is going to be uneven across the EU leading to a couple of countries carrying the bulk of the weight anyway.
Again, NATO works fine despite the USA, France and Britain carrying the bulk of the military power.
>Thirdly and most importantly the EU does not really appeal to young men.
You wouldn't sign up to the EU, you sign up to your national army and your national government assigns entire units to EU Battlegroup taskings. You're still fighting for you country, just with European allies with a unified command.
>Finally it is the EU, they are going to enforce diversity quotas and other BS.
Same as above, the unit's composition is down to the contributing member state, not the EU, the state contributes X number of complete units, not 8,000 random soldiers.

> The EU Army concept is literally just a NATO for Europe at the moment
They admit in clear language that they want a federal Europe. It will certainly take them a decade or so because they do things slowly in increments so as to not upset the public too much. That's how we went from a trade arrangement to the full blown political union we have today in 30 years, all without any public consent. Where is it going to be 30 years from now?
The end result will be something resembling the Soviet Union. An anti-democratic superstate oppressing the shit out of the European people. Why anyone would choose that over a free and democratic society is utterly lost on me.

1. Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements.
2. A Member State which decides to withdraw shall notify the European Council of its intention. In the light of the guidelines provided by the European Council, the Union shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State, setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for its future relationship with the Union. That agreement shall be negotiated in accordance with Article 218(3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. It shall be concluded on behalf of the Union by the Council, acting by a qualified majority, after obtaining the consent of the European Parliament.
3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.
4. For the purposes of paragraphs 2 and 3, the member of the European Council or of the Council representing the withdrawing Member State shall not participate in the discussions of the European Council or Council or in decisions concerning it.
A qualified majority shall be defined in accordance with Article 238(3)(b) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
5. If a State which has withdrawn from the Union asks to rejoin, its request shall be subject to the procedure referred to in Article 49.

You're talking about federalisation which is way, way in the future.
It's the ultimate goal of the EU sure but none of what you're describing is on the cards for the current EU Army negotiations.
The EU Army will be national, battalion-sized units uder a centralised EU command echelon.
Regardless of whether you agree with the final goal of federalisation, in the short term, an EU Army does nothing except increase the interoperatability of the UK's armed forces and the resources available to our individual soldiers.
The UK Armed Forces aren't capable or willing to do unilateral deployments anymore, we just don't have the troop numbers, our options are NATO, an EU Army or reordering the UKAF into a defence force and withdrawing from expeditionary warfare entirely.
Of the three, my opinion is that the EU Army represents the best security for Britain in the near future, because of our geographic, trade and political position with Europe, cooperation with them is preferential to continuing reliance on the USA via NATO, which is starting to make noises of a retreat back to the isolationist policies it's held through most of it's history if Trump's popularity is anything to go by. Just look at how deeply unpopular the USA's foreign commitment of troops in Europe is with Murican /pol/lacks.

European Union law guy here. The two-year negotiation mechanism only enters into force the moment your government formally invokes the article. If the government wants to, this can be delayed by several years so that proper negotiations can be conducted and both sides can prepare for the change in their financial situation.
But be careful, because they could pull the same trick the Dutch government pulled back in April and just postpone invoking the article indefinitely.

The EU is the final form of globalist, anti-nationalist, open borders, mass immigration ideology. It is not just part of the problem when it comes to RoW immigration. It is the source of the problem.
What do you see when you look at Nigel Farage's refugee poster. An evil fear-mongering nazi, like the media's trying to spin it? Or the horde of radical sunni males marching in endless columns across the open borders of Europe behind him?
Do you have any idea how many muslims are in Brussels, the capital city of the EU? I don't, because they are burying the data. But ten years ago in 2006 it was 25%.
At the start of the current year, Salah Abdeslam was the most recognisable and wanted face in the Western world. He lived openly in his old Brussels neighbourhood for four months during that time.
In the last year, Germany, the EU's largest power, has literally imported 1.5 million fighting age muslim males and set them loose on its own people, as well as trying and failing to spread them around the whole of Europe with migrant quotas enforced with the threat of economic sanctions.
Turkey will one inevitable day accede to the EU, giving 80 million turks free movement across the whole EU, creating a borderless landbridge from the wild frontiers of Syria to the streets your children play on.
Are you ok with all this?

Nothing inherently, it just means we'll have significantly reduced international influence. Which will have effects on trade and our security cooperation with other nations. Personally I don't support isolationism but 'scrap the nukes, close the borders, disband the army, ignore happenings entirely' is a valid course of action but not one that I'd ever support.
>A federal Europe will lead to war with Russia.
Why exactly? The EU includes two nuclear powers, any direct engagement with Russian forces is unlikely and would be extremely limited. On top of that, NATO is squaring off against Russia at the moment anyway, so whether we're dragged into it by the Americans or Europe really doesn't make much of a difference, other than that our foreign policy is more closely aligned with Europe than the USA because if it all goes tits up, Europe don't have the Atlantic ocean to hide behind so they're less likely to start something since they've more to lose.
>>77688426
If we isolate ourselves, challenges to our permanent membership in the UNSC will be swift in coming as China and Russia attempt to weaken the USA's control over it, likewise, we'll find ourselves more vulnerable to international calls to disarm if we're political isolate ourselves. A nation as dependant on trade as us, would not hang on to it's nukes for long if it detatched itself from both the EU and NATO.

The collapse of the Eurozone (and, with it, the European Union) is only a matter of time. The faults are structural, and between 2008 and 2016 the European Central Bank (with the lovely Goldman Sachs veteran Mario Draghi at the wheel), the European Commission (with the former head of a tax haven Jean-Claude Juncker at the wheel) and the Eurogroup (with deliciously goyish Jeroen Dijsselbloem, pic related, at the wheel) have totally failed to fix those faults.
You're just postponing the inevitable by helping the European Union stay afloat for a year or two more. And in fact, the longer Europe remains stable the more African and Middle Eastern men we'll have when things do go tits up. So actually if you can crash the plane now, you should.

Gibraltar will become independent in case of Brexit, and will be a sovereign country inside the EU, with free movement of people and such.
As a Spaniard I'm sure Americans wouldn't allow us to annex it, because of strategic reasons (gate to the Mediterranean and all), but as long as it is they puppet state they won't mind.
So, llanitos, despite being more Brit nationalistic than the proper Brits, will become independent. They may call themselves "British Independent nation of Gibraltar" or something, but they need to have free movement of people with the EU.

The EU will undertake several reforms after the British referendum, regardless of the result.
The Brit proposal for the EU is one of a "different speeds" in the union. Some countries may have the Euro, some countries not. Some countries may want an European army, others not.
>BTW, it was Britain who advocated for Turkey inside Europe, with countries such as France being against...
What this referendum will change will be 3 matters:
1- UK inside our outside.
2- Things will start changing faster inside the union (bank union, federal budget for all the countries -> a closer economic union, maybe an army, and to become a federation for the countries that want to do it)
3- the different speeds question. If Britain get's out the EU may be monolithic: one country, one currency, one army. In or out, you choose. If BRitain remains inside there will be different armies, currencies, and different levels of union.
>>77689155
Why do you think Germoney has such a vested interest in increasing European military cooperation and the international influence it's provide?
Germany's main source of international clout is the EU, Britain's is mainly our trade links, our soft power via our position between the USA and the EU, but we also still have significant influence over international security affairs due to our limited force projection capability.
If we disarmed/isolated ourselves (one and the same, I can't see Westminster funding our current military size if we end foreign deployments) we'll still have that soft power but we'll lose our still noteworthy hard power, which will actually have the effect of making us more dependant on the EU as Germany is.
Japan is the USA's bitch, they don't need an armed forces because the USA provides one, much like how European forces are currently much smaller than they'd otherwise need to be without American protection. Japan just takes it a step further, they are extremely dependant on the US, personally I don't want to be the American's sockpuppet anymore than we currently are.

This would be ideal I agree, if it was on the table I'd be voting Leave in a shot, but I don't think it's feasible in reality. Canada is basically a US state in terms of their foreign policy, they've no interest in expanding their already sizable interactions with the UK.
Australia is again, much more interested in allying itself with the USA than an independant UK because Murica can provide military protection and political clout in their area of the world, something the UK is incapable of doing.
Who else does that realistically leave out of the Commonwealth? The rest are minor nations of little benefit to the UK.
The issue is that the UK has great soft power but little hard power, the latter is provided by the US so they will always be more attractive allies to the major Commonwealth nations than we are.
I'd also worry about our trade links to the Commonwealth outside of the EU, just look at our recent dealings with China, a big selling point for us is that we provide easy access to both the EU and US markets.

I bet you 50p those bankers gave themselves HEFTY bonuses after pocketing Britain. Disgusting.
Relax lads. Based Nige will be on ITV tomorrow morning from 10am to put Brexit back on track and make it all better. If Junker, Tusk, Merkel, Obama, Cameron and Lagarde can't barrage the Farage then patsy wackjob Thomas Mair aka Death To Traitors Freedom For Britain doesn't stand a chance. Based Nige will let nobody wreck what he has worked tirelessly for 20yrs to achieve. He'll come back with a bang tomorrow and lead us to Brexit next Thursday.

>>77689406
We'll 'go down with the ship' if the EU collapses regardless of whether we're a member or not, the EU is our chief trading partner and still would be even after Brexit, the Leave campaign has been very open about this, European instability will hit us hard either independant or as a member.
I'd say it makes more sense to try and save it than just wash our hands of it and guarantee it's collapse because it's looking a bit uncertain.
>>77689453
Personally I don't believe in sure things. The EU's death has been announced numerous times, while its certainly possible, I don't see the appeal of acting to guarantee it just because that's the way the winds blowing.

Fffttt, my friend, Gibraltar is a shithole. It's strategic for the British in the same way, but to Spaniards it's irrelevant because it's surrounded by Spain. IE: no value for us, apart from "honour" or something.
Not to troll Brits but GIbraltar is just the rock in the left corner of this PIC, just the rock. The airstrip is crossed by the main street of the village and people live crammed in commieblocks.

Not if we're free to pursue international trade outside of Europe. The Eurozone is doomed to failure because it was a terrible idea to begin with, it's futile to prolong the inevitable. France and Spain are on the brink already.

Annoying thing is that in the US that public law 414 is made to combat democratic terrorism, but they'd never have the sense to use it.

>>77690285
You already have almost entirely open trade links with us, we couldn't offer you more even outside of the EU (it'd likely be that we couldn't offer you as much since we'd be outside the common market), it's more foreign policy and military interoperatability I was talking about.
I can't see the benefit to yourselves in breaking links with the USA in favour of Britain in terms of foreign policy, we can't protect your borders in the (unlikely) event of an invasion, nor can we protect your trade interests abroad with our 'big stick' in the same way the USA can, simply because our stick isn't as big as theirs.
>>77690483
Just post it lad ffs.

Except Britain and Spain are NATO allies and leading trading partners.
Spain gets +5 million Brit tourists and the UK exports more to Spain than to Canada + Australia + New Zealand together.
Muh Commonwealth is a brainfart. The UK sells +60% of their exports to the EU. Without us say goodbye to 60% of your economy, if we were to have a trade war.
And good luck selling to India, Brazil, etc. expensive stuff...
You only have 3 big markets: US, EU and China. Selling to China is tough, so in fact you only have two. The EU is the bigger one and we are your neighbours.
If we close the doors, we will lose maybe 5-10%, but you will lose +60%.
Also, Britain wouldn't win a war in Spanish soil, unless you started dropping nuclear bombs.
>>77690728
every fucking thread
You know we traded with germany during the war?
>>77690455
Our international trade links are already extensive, the EU doesn't place restrictions of those to any significant degree, if anything, our EU membership has arguably made us a more attractive trading partner to countries otherwise unable to develop links to the EU common market.
After Brexit we might expand in some places but we'd likely contract in others so, from my understanding at least, our net gains in terms of trade revenue wouldn't be significant.
I can't see them being greatly expanded after a Brexit, and just in terms of our geographic position, European instability would still greatly harm our economy even if we did. There's no realistic way we could entirely wean ourselves off European trade and not take a massive hit to our GDP, it'll always make up a large percentage even if it's not a majority, just because we're parked right next to it.
>>77690728
>The UK sells +60% of their exports to the EU.
Nope. 47% and falling, and to say that that would drop to 0 post exit is simply bullshit.
>>77690799
> the EU doesn't place restrictions of those to any significant degree
Yes it does, we cannot negotiate agreements independently. We have to wait for an agreement all member states agree to, which is why the Canada deal is still delayed after 10 years of negotiations. Tiny Switzerland has much more in the way of international trade deals than the EU.
Imagine opening up our financial sector to unrestricted markets in developing economies like India, Brazil and China like the Swiss have done. We can have our cake and eat it, the Eurozone is going to collapse regardless and the whole world will feel it.
>>77690558
Look, I know you have muh Empire in mind, but now get back to reality. What the fuck do you think that you are going to sell to Canucks and Aussies? Teabags?
Take a look at this picture and see the reality.
It's not about trade pacts, which by the way the EU is signing left and right in order for YOU to profit from that. Even with trade pacts, the UK doesn't sell shit overseas.
60% of your exports are to the EU and allies.
And 20% of your economy is the financial sector, which will be hurt immesely in case of Brexit, with London not being the financial capital of the world anymore (European banks would move out of the City).
Sorry brah, but this is the true.
Muh Commonwealth is small (Canada 40 million, Australia 20 million...) and India doesn't give a fuck.
Now, if you want to sell Bentleys to Jamaicans or Belizeans, good luck m8.
>>77690309
It's strategic in the end time battle. do you even Nostradamus. Britain will need it to fight the EU
>>77690728
Also, as far as a war goes, you start making motions towards Gib and NATO isn't coming to help you. Same as when Turkey started trying to act tough towards Russia. They found themselves with very few friends.
For 1 on 1, we're number 5/6 globally. You're number 27. Our army is larger, better trained and better equipped. And yes we have nukes too should it come to that.
Home turf or not, that's not good odds for you.
This stupid fucking idiot has lost it for us hasn't he

You seem to misread my post, I'm in (more or less) agreement with you, that's essentially what I was saying.
>britain votes leave
>still have Cameron in charge
>Cameron goes to "negotiate" with the EU
>Gets the worst possible terms intentionally
>"It will take 8 years for this to go into effect."
>"Our terms are much worse, we should get back in."
>"We have to pay more now in tarriffs."
>Time goes by
>People mad at this. "Brexit was a mistake!"
>Rejoins EU before based Nigel can set things right.
That's what's gonna happen. We voted no to EU, but our parliament is majority pro-EU, with predictable consequences.
>>77691179
It was a headache we didn't need, but we can still do it. We're still ahead in the polls.
>>77691086
That doesn't even include our biggest sector (by far), financial services. The EU sells much more to us than we do to them in terms of physical goods. Which is why we'll get a favourable trade agreement.
>>77691086
>now get back to reality
The eurozone is bankrupt. There is no reason to be attached to a bankrupt trade bloc full of unemployed people.
>20% of your economy is the financial sector
The reason our financial sector is so enlarged is because we are not in the eurozone. Investors want to limit their exposure to the bankrupt, corrupt, festering shitpile across the Channel.
>>77687972

>>77689532
desu lad I was a bit confused by what you were getting at. But then again I'm autistic
The only possible upside I see of this are
Women "ooooh if we vote Remain too many people will be angry and there will be shootings. I stay home" - undecideds gained in the last opll at the same time as remain lost support
Politicians after a leave vote: "if we don't leave and make it happen, it will be our asses"
Every cloud has a silver lining. Keep it up Britbongs and make it happen.
>>77691286
Financial services are 20% and the EU banks would move to Frankfurt of Paris in case of Brexit.
In fact, I know from a friend working in the field that Asian banks have been relocating offices and opening branches in the mainland Europe just in case of Brexit.
Take into account that being in the EU allows for the City to have European workers there (elite native Frenchs, for example).
>>77691329
The Eurozone is not the chaos you think it is. The Greek economy is 2% of the Eurozone, and while Spanish unemployment is high we are growing at 3% each year and creating 500k jobs per year.
There is a already an ongoing bank union and there will be a fiscal union after that.
It was chaotic when the crisis started, not anymore, and more countries have been joining the Euro year after year.
>>77687186
>languages
NATO has teams of translators that listen through headsets of one person speaking and then speak into a microphone for the NATO Ambassador they've been assigned to.
There are entire fucking books on the whole translation system of NATO I've listed you one below.
https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=tAW-BQAAQBAJ&pg=PT15&lpg=PT15&dq=nato+meeting+translation+process&source=bl&ots=9N6GffgUNL&sig=ppnIbfLmkLtIOSgLg4oDXqS-vx8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi6_6KQxrHNAhVCFMAKHczxAa0Q6AEIKDAF#v=onepage&q=nato%20meeting%20translation%20process&f=false
That's how NATO manages to communicate the member states, your idea of getting everyone to be multilingual is fucking retarded.
There is also the point of the NATO Phoentic Alphabet which was designed to help countries communicate clearly but it still doesn't work very well. There are many instances of mic communications within NATO:
http://tribune.com.pk/story/298121/tribune-take-miscommunication-led-to-the-nato-attack/
>even distribution of power and you say NATO does just fine.
People have brought this up over the years and it's a fact that the poorer countries of NATO DO NOT pay their fair share (pic related).
In the EU army, I'be said it myself, we will have the exact same problem where the UK will be footing the majority of the bill. As you can see from PIC RELATED the UK pays a significantly higher portion than Germany and other Euro zone countries.
If you honestly expect the EU Army to incite more spending from its members then you are deluded and probably a libtard.
