you don't understand these people. you try to explain economic problems associated with scottish independance (lack of central bank, failure to meet convergence criteria to join the euro etc) and it falls on deaf ears.

They'll argue that the majority of scots who voted in the eu referendum voted for remain (which they probably will), therefore we should have another referendum

You know that if we leave we lose:
-Farming subsidies (We can't afford to feed the UK on our own)
-Grants in the STEM research and development sector (billions of pounds worth)
-Money towards construction, housing, food and water

So what exactly do we get when we leave? The government has already banned _all psychoactive substances_ (exempting alcohol, tobacco and caffeine) which means that the aroma from certain flowers is illegal (terpenes), they will be introducing the 'extremism bill' which means that any 'extremist speech' gets you black bagged, what constitutes 'extremist speech' could be as simple as protesting against the government.

Leaving the EU will only turn the UK into a third world, Orwellian nightmare shithole.

"The Darien Scheme was an unsuccessful attempt by the Kingdom of Scotland to become a world trading nation by establishing a colony called "Caledonia" on the Isthmus of Panama on the Gulf of Darién in the late 1690s. From the beginning the undertaking was beset by poor planning and provisioning, divided leadership, lack of demand for trade goods, devastating epidemics of disease, and failure to anticipate the Spanish Empire's military response. It was finally abandoned in March 1700"

The margin of error on GE polls was around 37% though they had worse outliers for labour and lib dem. However this is a binary question and quite a lot of unis and research bodies have made it clear that undecided and swing voters are so far more likely to come out for Leave than remain.

They ignore the poll which has the best result for either side. If another poll came out with 56% in favour of Leave they'd ignore it but update their system to factor in the one from a couple of days ago with 55% Leave. The same story with Remain.
>>
Compare >>77233718 to the scot ref polls leading up and we are around 3% clear

The scot ref polls indicated that remain would win by 3-5% in the week upto the vote, remain won by 10%

Now we are polling 4-7% leave, we could end up leaving with 13% lead

The United Kingdom has open border with the EU, Merkel has opened the EU border with the whole of Africa and the Middle East.

The EU is very left wing, pushing multi cult as much as possible and over rules populist votes to impose its own ideology.

We pay £10 billion (net) per year to the EU but we cannot remove the EU leaders with votes, all we can do (and have done) is fill it with UKIP MEPs which bitch in the EU Parliment but have no power in the un-democratic government which makes our laws and regulations to further the globalist multi cult ideals.

Well there's no way in hell their argument for seceding makes any sense when their plan is to essentially toss out any sovreignty they would've gained by joining the EU.
I think the ability for any region to secede is a vital elememt for keeping a country free(ish), but the SNP leadership frankly seems to want it for entirely dishonest reasons.

>There is really only one clinching argument — and it is astonishing that so little hyperbole has been expended on it. It’s this: democracy. Not sovereignty, but democracy. Perhaps we might all sign up to a winnowing away of British sovereignty if we could be confident that the EU would behave in a democratic manner. But it does not do so.

>If we stay in the EU, we will be consigning ourselves to a future that, in political terms, resembles the old USSR: no dissent, no alternative point of view permitted. A supranational body run by authoritarian liberals. Now, there’s hyperbole for you — what seems, on the face of it, to be an exaggerated claim. Yet this is what the EU is doing right now, explicitly and brazenly. The unelected president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, has recently made it clear that any country that elects a right-of-centre populist government will be stripped of its rights to make decisions within the EU, and possibly subjected to a loss of income. He did not hint at this, he actually said it. If Austria had voted its Freedom party into power, it would have had its decision-making capacity within the EU removed.

counts will get under way when polls close at 22:00 GMT Thursday, 23 June at 382 local centres around the UK. These local results will be declared as the counts are completed before being collated at 12 regional centres, which will also declare the totals for each side. There will be a rolling total so the time at which one side reaches the point of being mathematically unbeatable depends on how quickly the vote are counted and how close the results are running. It is a safe bet that from 4am onwards there should be pretty clear picture of which way the vote is going. A chief counting officer will announce the overall result at Manchester Town Hall.

There will be no exit polls.

you've got the comparison the wrong way round.

people tend to shy away for voting for change at the last minute. voting for brexit is a vote for change. its not the status quo position. staying in the eu is.

in referendums like the in scotland and quebec voters shied away from voting for change at the last minute (scottish voters voted to stay in the uk and Quebecois voted to stay part of canada). The reasons for this are usually related to economic anxieties stirred up by the like of the remain campaign in the eu referendum.

to feel confident about brexit you would need a good 3% lead in aggregate polls to take into account statistical margins for error...... IN ADDITION you'll need a couple of percent to take into account last minute voters bricking it at the last minute and voting remain.

>current aggregate polls of polls

I'd want to see leave at 56%+ before I even considered it a possibility that leave will be successful.

There's still lots of work to do

This is my worry as well. It's actually quite hard to compare the Indyref to Brexit, though, in a lot of ways. As I'm sure you know, only 3 polls had YES ahead in the entire polling cycle.

I agree, I think 51-49 is far, far too close to feel confident. 55-45 is about where we want to be.

HOWEVER, one thing that you must mention is that differential turnout could easily be what brings about victory. Older people support leave, and older people are much more likely to vote. I believe in terms of the Indyref it was the opposite, where older people generally favored remaining in the UK (If I'm wrong please correct me.)

If the polls to be released in this coming week demonstrate the same trend and get the polling average to roughly 53-47, I think Leave could take it by 10 points by virtue of differential turnout.

Either way, this is going to be a nailbiter. Simply seeing a few polls with Leave ahead should not make anyone any less nervous.
>>
>>77237010
I pretty much agree with you but I think over 56% is probably unrealistic.

Based on opinion polling for the Quebec referendum, anything over 52% consistently in the polls is probably enough to swing it but I'd say anything over 55% would give me confidence in the result

He isn't saying Leave won't happen, only that the current margin in polls that cover maybe 30% of the population tops isn't sufficient to say leave is definitely going to happen. This takes into account national referendums, not supra-national ones. Referendums on a national status quo, and ones on the international status quo are different.

For example; in Denmark's last two referendums on the EU, the national Denmark side won both of them with a last minute 5+ boost in the polls. Which is actually remarkably similar to what we are seeing in the UK right now, in EU referendums, on the fence voters go for the national side rather then the European one.

I've just received a strange missive from the strongerin.co.uk shower of jokers.

It amounts to an A4 window poster "Vote remaIN on June 23rd", a scurrilous lie about the polls being tied neck and neck, no other information whatsoever about the EU, but a rather dopey picture of Saint Nigel on the reverse of the poster with the exhortation "Don't let Farage speak for you".

Beyond the wonderful idea that the idiots who hang this in their window will be gazed upon by Sir Nigel every day for the next week and a half, this appears to be the one and only tack the Remain camp are taking now.

As if Farage doesn't lose his job as MEP if he wins. Or as if he's poised to become PM on the 24th. A most peculiar angle to take, when Bojo has a track record they could have used and abused to make a much more relevant point in the minds of the scattered Left.

Who are these phone polls calling? Presumably London area codes in the main, non-English speakers press 2 for translation.
>>
>>77237536

>IMPORTANT UPDATE

As >>77237645 noted, older people in the Indyref polled and voted for remaining in the UK. In the Brexit referendum, it is the opposite - older people vote much more reliably for LEAVING THE EU.

I believe that honestly if you took every person in the UK and forced them to vote, the result would be quite close to 50/50, with no more than a 53/47 swing either way. But we could come out on top on the sheer virtue of older people turning out in much larger numbers relative to the young.

If you can't win her over by June 23rd, just make sure she doesn't go out to vote. Lock her in the house if necessary

Its important that instead of focusing on bantz in the event of victory, you focus on talking to people about why the EU is a disaster and why its important to leave.

A thousand years of British history are at stake. This is the biggest vote of your lives. Don't fuck this up. Don't let Britain "remain" a pawn of awful forces. Obummer, merkel, verhodstadt. Are those the names you want your childrens children to see as their great historical figures?

The EU mandated history books will have them singing the praises of the most vile of our time.
>>
>>77235536
Pretty sure you'll manage somehow.

Triple nationality choice, lived in UK all my life.

One thing I've seen since the Tory government took power is the huge amount of (white, UK national) homeless people who literally line every alcove of the main street in Belfast. The UK is going down the shitter and the only thing stopping it from getting any worse is the constant flow of money from the EU.

For example, when passing laws you would expect the people passing them to know what they're talking about, right. Nope.

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2074813-youre-not-hallucinating-mps-really-did-pass-crazy-bad-drug-law/

Here's some choice quotes:
>Watching MPs debate the Psychoactive Substances Bill yesterday, it was clear most of them hadn't a clue. They misunderstood medical evidence, mispronounced drug names, and generally floundered

> Respectable MPs from the Home Counties found themselves discussing the merits of “poppers” [sic] One MP confessed she had thought poppers meant those small tubs of streamers fired into the air at parties.

Yes the UK will work perfectly in the hands of these fools.

If he pipes up again I'll tell you everything, give you his number, facebook, pictures, home address, his dyke whore's address/son's address, his brothers address in Denmark, where he works.

Every fucking thing so it's in his interests to shut the fuck up and stay the fuck out of this. Fucking piece of Euroshit.

Well, that may be your future if you stay in the EU.

>Yes the UK will work perfectly in the hands of these fools.
Well if it doesnt you can always vote them out and litterly get a new parliament, but you cant vote out the commission, and you cant vote out the parlimentary members from the other 27 countries
But if you vote "leave" you can control the politicians of your own parliament and hold them responsible for what they do in your parliament

It's literally a vote on whether or not you want to be rules by your own people or a foreign entity. You'd be voting your own freedom away by voting for the EU, an agency which has supreme control over Britain without Britain being able to say otherwise, except for now.

The fact that half of your population is too stupid to realize this makes me think we have more in common with our mother country than I thought. You see over here British people are supposed to be smarter than US.

> Discrimination still exists. Some people feel that their own beliefs are being threatened. Some are unhappy about unfamiliar cultures. They all need to be reassured that there is so much to be gained by reaching out to others; that diversity is indeed a strength and not a threat.

>“But there are no guarantees that this will last for ever, and future judgments may go against the UK. Conversely, a vote for Brexit on 23 June is likely to create its own legal quagmire, as the subsequent negotiations will have to resolve the free movement rights of EU citizens currently living in the UK and UK citizens currently living in other EU countries in a fair and consistent way,”

They even admit that this won't last and it's a temporary measure.

>-Farming subsidies (We can't afford to feed the UK on our own)
60% of EU agricultural subsidies go to the Landed Gentry m8 and their massive, non-food producing estates. Private Eye ran a series of investigations on it.

True, we import 40% of our food, but not from the EU.

>-Grants in the STEM research and development sector (billions of pounds worth)
Yes? Grants come and go m8. That's why you need a good business manager in the lab. It's also why science is so politicized and effectively in the pocket of Big Pharma and Big Oil. There'll be plenty more where that trickle of our own tax money less two thirds came from.

>-Money towards construction, housing, food and water
You mean foreign corporations buying up our transport, construction and utilities companies and then evading tax via the EU structured rent-the-logo-back-to-yourself scam? Yeah, no, we'll not miss any of that.

You have no positives for Remaining. Not one. That's appalling when you think how long we've been scammed by the EU.

Or maybe you've finally found one? Always with the false negatives, never with the positives.

good point. didn't really consider that....I tend to be a bit pessimistic.

I think what concerns me is that in my recent experience "remain" voters, outside of london and college/uni aged kids, are not being very vocal in supporting the "remain" campaign....... this very much reminds me of the "no" voters in the scottish indy ref in that they were very hesitant to talk publicly about their support for the union.... yet won a resounding victory.

I'm finding this difficult to gauge.

I wonder if there will be a last minute equivalent of the "vow" taken towards the end of the scottish indy ref to promise further devolved powers to scotland if voters voted "no"?
