Liberals are only going to lib harder than ever, further destroying their own arguments for the sake of "sounds-right" dogmatic memes with no basis behind them other than their own agenda.
At the same time as this, the level of brazen hostility against their host countries, muslims and immigrants are only furthering their own contempt by acting out DURING this liberal backlash. It is giving the Right even more reason to lash out at the inherent hypocrisies that have been disturbing them for decades.
And then there are those on the Right themselves. These people finally have enough of an overall consensus on their side that they can speak out AGAINST liberality with a decreasing amount of fallout for doing so. Coming out as a Trump supporter will statistically only lose you half your friends, if you had no political forces guiding you towards who your friends are (you probably did). It is creating the inevitable "us vs. them" situation that was going to happen eventually. Liberals could not discredit themselves indefinitely, although it is somewhat of a surprise that this backlash took so long.
Think of it like a volcano. Pressure is building and the only way it's getting vented is by erupting out of its full caldera.
