i lived my whole life in Syria before i came here, education was free, no one was hungry, health care was free (apart from surgery) every single house had a fridge and a washing machine, bread, sugar and rice were handed out to everyone for free (bread wasnt free, but it was supplied for 9 S.P per kilo by government bakeries)
